My photography style is emotion-focused and photo journalistic mixed with a bit of editorial! While I will pose couples if requested, my bread and butter is couples who are playful, creative, and ready to go with the flow. I’m a Type B gal with an attention to detail to make sure your day goes smoothly without the chaos!

Weddings bring on lots of emotions for folks- whether it be happiness or stress, I’m there to support you! Outside of my photography work, I’m a licensed therapist and board-certified art therapist so dealing with a range of emotions is kind of my thing! I’ve held brides while they grieved a loved one who wouldn’t be at their wedding, brides who have had complicated family dynamics, and more. And while I can’t be your photographer AND your therapist, I can easily switch into therapist mode to keep you grounded and calm on your big day. In other words, I’m a calm presence who can go with the flow and handle any challenge thrown my way!

    Melanie was absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with!! As a wedding planner, the gallery she sent over from the wedding we worked together is one of my favorites I've ever seen. The photos are gorgeous, the wedding was so smooth, and her team just brought the best energy. I highly recommend!!!

    Hiring Melanie as our wedding photographer is the greatest decision my husband and I could have ever made! Not only is Mel an insanely talented photographer, she is the kindest human being. She allows for you to feel so comfortable in front of the camera, making all of her photos to convey so much emotion.     Melanie is the absolute best! We had our engagement shoot with her and are absolutely obsessed with the pictures. Neither of us are particularly comfortable having our picture taken but Melanie made us feel very at ease the whole time. She wasn’t trying to have us do awkward poses but was more just capturing the moment, which we love. We’re using Melanie as our wedding photographer and couldn’t be more excited to see how she captures the day! She has been so helpful throughout the planning process so far! Genuinely could not recommend Melanie any more!
