Minimal Shutter Photography is a South Asian wedding photography team - based out of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We specialize in documenting your special moments with a clean and elegant aesthetic. Together Neel and Spruha are the ultimate power team for your wedding day. As a boyfriend and girlfriend team grazing off one another's strengths, we can genuinely maximize on more elements than a single individual. We are capable of showcasing your wedding as a life story in the most remarkable fashion.

    The best!!!

    Neel and Spruha are a literal dream to work with. I reached out to them early in the wedding planning process for my non-traditional, mixed culture, modern Bangladeshi-fusion wedding, and I am so glad I did. I was immediately drawn in by their dreamy photos that did not feel overly posed or staged, while also understanding the South Asian wedding dynamic. The feeling we wanted to convey during the celebration was warmth, love, whimsy, and joy, and they absolutely captured that and more.     Sikh Wedding

    Neel and Spruha were a fantastic team to work with for our wedding this past March. My husband and I have always been camera shy and we felt very comfortable with the two of them. They were able to direct us and make us feel confident in front of the camera. Communication was good throughout the wedding planning process. They were easy to get in contact with and always timely with their response. We received our photos so quickly and timely and were so happy with the final result. The editing and colors were absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend working with these two!

    Amazing Photography Team!

    Neel and his team were amazing from start to finish with the engagement photoshoot through our mehndi event and to the wedding reception. He has a knack for using all his surroundings to produce the best photography. He is so easy to work with, friendly, skilled and makes taking pictures a fun and memorable experience. He takes input from his clients and listens to them. In addition, he will provide great direction and ideas during photo sessions which makes it flow smoothly and efficiently. Neel is also very patient while taking pictures and will capture all the moments to its fullest potential. Neel and his team’s photography is elegant, simple, and natural. No, we do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery.
We take a documentary-style approach. This means that the only time I'll be posing or directing you is during the photo shoot. The rest of the day I'm unobtrusively capturing moments. We don't pose my couples like puppets. That being said, we also won't leave you alone and clueless if you like to have a little more direction.
The raw, unedited files aren't available for viewing or purchase. This is very much like asking your caterer to give you the leftover ingredients used to make your dinner! Let me explain why. For one, most computers won't even have the software to open RAW files. Post-processing images with coloring/contrast/skin tones/etc. is one of the main reasons you probably like our work.
You sure can. I'd love to catch up and make sure we are a good fit for each other! These meetings usually have to happen on weekdays in summer, otherwise weekends are up for grabs in the off season.
Absolutely! It is one of our favorite things to do.
Yes. We backup the photographs right after the event. We take the security of my clients' media very seriously because we are the guardians protecting their treasured memories.
We are in the age of instant gratification, so we understand that and work hard to make sure your images arrive within 4-5 weeks after your event date. Engagement/Prewedding pictures are typically within a week. We use an online gallery system where the images/footage will be uploaded and it's easily accessible for not just you but for family and friends as well.
Engagement/Prewedding sessions are typically booked 3-4 months in advance. Weddings are booked 6-12 months in advance. However, we will still take last-minute bookings if our availability allows us.
We do not. We are a team of professional photographers, and we choose to specialize in photography to give you the very best of this specific art form. We do know many extraordinary cinematographers at all budget levels and would be thrilled to help match you to the best company so that you can have a team that focuses on videography the way we focus on photography!
Yes, yes! All of our equipment is covered. We use top of the line professional Fujifilm equipment and extensive backups, with backup gear. We typically shoot with two main bodies, one a primary and the other as backup. Our cameras also have a dual memory card system so that in case a card goes corrupt, we always have a backup.
