Joyce started Bake Sum in 2020 just in time for the pandemic making pastries and sweets that represent their upbringings. The summer of 2013, Malaka approached her bestie since high school, Erica, with a crazy idea: let's start a business! With roots in South LA, we intend to bring a new approach to bakeries in our community.
