Designed by renowned architect John Galen Howard and originally opened in the fall of 1923, Memorial Stadium underwent seismic renovations in Dec. 2010 to bring the facility up to modern standards - all while maintaining the architecture and character of the celebrated structure. The Oakland Scottish Rite Center was completed in 1927, with over a thousand craftsmen working on the project. The construction cost was approximately $1.5 million. This was a sizeable sum at the time equivalent to about $22 million today. From ground breaking to completion the edifice was erected in just two years. Our venue is centered in the heart of the UC Berkeley Campus. Built in the 1950's, Alumni House has a cozy and warm atmosphere, ready to welcome all alumns, friends, and newcomers to campus. The event space consists of both indoor and an outdoor areas. The Toll Room is a large open space preserved in its original mid century modern aesthetic with a full wall of sliding glass doors. It opens on to the patio surrounded by mature trees that create a charming canopy decorated with string lights. Surrounded by towering red woods, and a trickling creek, you can have the best of both worlds: an outdoor space with the convenience of being close to the city. Our wedding package includes access to entire event space including an indoor event space, patio, and kitchen.

Hi, my name is Iso, one of the founders of Forage Kitchen. Since 2017, our mission has been to support Oakland entrepreneurs by providing kitchen space, promotional help, and event organization. To support that mission, we rent our space throughout the year for weddings, corporate events, and parties of all kinds. Our space offers a full commercial kitchen, great outdoor space with overhead lighting, and most importantly, a fully stocked bar! With seating capacity for 160 and standing room for 230, it’s great for events of all kinds, and live music is always welcome!
