“I worked with Jasmine in October of 2019 for my wedding and I've never felt as beautiful before or since I did on my wedding day. Jasmine gave me exactly what I asked for and didn't try to talk me into any colors or products I wasn't comfortable with. She accentuated my natural features to give me a neutral, but enhanced look so I didn't wash out in photos. She told me what lipstick she was using during my trial so I was able to purchase the same brand/shade for touch ups once she was done with my group on the day of which was helpful and one less thing to wish we had on hand. Both mine and my husband's moms are not full face make up wearers and she made them look beautiful but they still felt like themselves and were very comfortable in the looks she gave them. She was flexible with scheduling (as were we, which I think it important for any bridal group when working with vendors) and made sure everyone was taken care of and happy with her services before she left us for the day. I honestly don't have enough good things to say about her or her work. Jasmine is a down to earth, relatable, talent and I'd work with her again in a heartbeat.”

“I recently had the pleasure of getting new-to-me services at Alder: my wedding hair (Kristen) and makeup (Anne). Two of my bridesmaids and also my mom (she was with Kayleigh) had their hair and/or makeup here. For my makeup trial, I had no clear idea what I wanted. The trial was fine, but afterwards I realized I didn’t love it and Anne was very gracious about letting me do another trial, and made me feel 0 guilt about it, and as the person who is forever convinced that I’m a burden, I am so, so grateful for that. Second trial went great and I loved the look. Felt very much like myself but better! For hair, I had a particular look in mind, and the trial went amazing and was everything I wanted! My actual wedding day was on a weekday and my party was small, so our hair and makeup were done at Alder (they will go on site if you have a minimum number of people) which was a relief to me because my venue’s getting ready area was not well lit, and Alder’s decor is always on point. We had some hiccups about appointment time (I forgot to factor in the fact that my venue was an hour away from the studio and my bridesmaids scheduled independently) but Kristen, Anne, and the Alder team were accommodating and again, didn’t make me feel like a burden even though I 100% should have scheduled all the appointments at the same time to avoid that problem in the first place. I’m not perfect! They even let us bring in breakfast while getting ready and it was just an all around good time. I felt like a princess, and my bridesmaids and mom looked so gorgeous!.”

“We hired Gals and Ghouls for both hair and makeup. The makeup was absolutely beautiful! It was exactly what we envisioned, lasted all night, and made everyone feel confident and gorgeous. Meghan was such a joy to have around on the wedding morning and truly helped us all feel our best all day. The hair experience, unfortunately, wasn’t as smooth. I had updated my hairstyle vision right before the trial (from half-up to a full updo) but kept the same boho inspiration — loose curls, braids, and soft crisscrossing texture. The trial missed the mark — the stylist didn’t curl my hair and only crimped the roots for volume, which gave more of an unfinished, 80s-style texture than the soft, romantic look I’d hoped for. It felt so incomplete that I didn’t feel comfortable wearing it out afterward. I shared my concerns with the office after the trial and re-sent my inspo photo before the wedding, but unfortunately, the day-of styling still didn’t align with my vision. The stylist ran behind, seemed a bit scattered, and the overall results leaned messy and poofy rather than textured and polished. My mom’s curls fell out within an hour (despite her sharing beforehand that her hair doesn’t hold curl well), so she had to have it redone and sadly missed me getting into my dress and a few special moments. My sister’s hairstyle also turned out very different from her inspo. Although my mother in law and sister’s styles turned out nicely, across the group all the styles had a similar “poof” shape that wasn’t reflective of what we’d shown. The team was kind, and the makeup was truly flawless, but I do wish the hair had reflected our inspiration more closely and felt cohesive and finished for such a special day.”
