How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors

“We had our wedding at The Villa at Ridder on 8/23/25, and everything was absolutely perfect! From the moment we first toured the venue, we knew it was the right place for us, it’s beautiful, elegant, and not insanely expensive. The staff made the entire process so easy and stress-free. They were professional, attentive, and incredibly organized, which made our day run seamlessly. We worked with Lexie, Brianna, and Kristen. Every detail was handled smoothly, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The food was delicious, and our guests are still raving about how much they enjoyed it. You have to do the European deserts because those were delicious. The Villa truly exceeded our expectations and gave us the wedding day we had always hoped for. They even worked with us to accommodate some Ukrainian traditions and if you have foreign family that are worried, trust me you’re in good hands. We can’t recommend The Saphire Event Group enough it’s the perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion! I’d also recommend doing the inclusive package, the dj and florist were awesome.”

“If you’re looking for a scenic wedding venue on the water with amazing food, easy communication, and seamless coordination, The Lakehouse is it! Almost a month later and we have not stopped receiving compliments about our wedding day. We got married in early November, so there wasn’t much foliage on the trees, but that did not take away any of the beauty of this venue! We lucked out with weather and had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in front of the lake. The transition from our ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception was flawless and incredibly well-organized. The venue itself is breathtaking with its large windows, offering stunning views and a layout that allowed for an easy and natural flow throughout the day. There are also SO MANY photo ops, so even if weather didn’t cooperate, we would have had gorgeous photos no matter what! The food was nothing short of amazing! All of our guests, even our most high-maintenance ones, were highly impressed from our passed hors d’oeuvres, to our piping hot dinner. They LOVED the cookies & milk station, as well as our late-night french fry bar! I had been dreaming about this day for as long as I can remember, and I am super type-a, so I have been planning every detail for awhile! It was important to me that certain details were executed the way I had envisioned them. We were assigned Victoria as our Event Producer about 8 months prior to our wedding. She gave us the best advice and suggestions throughout the planning process, which is appreciated when you have so many decisions to make! We had a large wedding of 180 guests, as well as an 8-piece band, so it was important to us to have a large dance floor. Victoria put together the perfect floor plan that allowed us to dance the night away! On the day of our wedding, she setup all of our décor the exact way we envisioned it, and then some! We were so happy to have her there, and she was equally excited to be there for us. We truly did not have to lift a finger once we got to the venue! Our Event Manager, Aubre, kept everything running smoothly behind-the-scenes on our wedding day to the point where we did not have to worry about a thing. Our Wedding Attendant, Emma, was always right there when we needed her! She carried my bouquet or drink, bustled my dress, and even made sure we had and ate our appetizers, dinner, and dessert! These 3 women were lifesavers, and we could not have gotten through the day without them! They were so kind, thoughtful, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure us and our guests were happy and taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, stress-free experience, and we are so grateful to The Lakehouse and Saphire Event Group team for making our wedding day so perfect and unforgettable!”

“This was our first time at Crossed Keys Estate, and from the moment we did our research, we knew we were in for something special. The estate’s 30 acres of history, with stunning gardens, towering 200-year-old trees, and a charming farmhouse, provide the perfect mix of modern and rustic elegance. One of our favorite aspects? Acres Landing / to getaway and gather for sanctuary and celebrations! One of the best things about Acres Landing is that you can have your event past 10pm outdoors, which is something that is very difficult to find in Palm Springs proper! Music can officially be played at our venue until 12am; we just have to turn off any outdoor speakers at 10pm. With the back doors of our small Clubhouse open to the venue, the volume in our imagined dancing space, the Pavilion, is full event volume! Bands can go until 10pm, and DJs can go until 12am. We have no cap on the amount of pieces you can have in a band. We require a buyout of our amazing vintage campers, along with a venue fee.

“From start to finish, our experience with The Rose Event Center was nothing short of amazing. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, full of character, warmth, and charm, but what truly sets it apart is the level of care and support you receive, especially from Patricia. I’m a busy mom of two, and going into wedding planning I honestly had no idea how I was going to pull everything together. Patricia was incredible at keeping everything organized, detailed, and on track while also reminding me that I was on track and didn’t need to stress. Her calm, reassuring presence made the entire planning process feel manageable and even enjoyable. On our wedding day, everything came together exactly how I had envisioned it. The Rose has such natural ambiance that you don’t need a ton of décor to make it feel magical, it’s already stunning on its own. Seeing our names on the marquee that day was such a fun and special touch and made the whole experience feel even more personal. “We are so thankful for Jordan and the entire Willowdale Estate team for helping to coordinate and run the most incredible wedding for us. We first fell in love with Willowdale Estate when we first toured thanks in particular to Anna Schirripa who walked us through the property, including the getting ready spaces, beautiful ceremony courtyard, cocktail space and of course the tent for reception. We could see early on that Willowdale could accomplish the vision we were looking for. Anna then followed up by mailing us their famous chocolate chip cookies which helped seal the deal! Anna’s thoughtfulness and responsiveness to all of our questions (rain plan, food options, wheelchairs accessibility, vendors, etc.) gave us the confidence that Willowdale Estate was the right venue for us and we could not have been more correct. Working with Jordan in the weeks leading up to our Wedding day, we could tell she was the perfect person to help us stay calm and present during our wedding day. She was responsive to all of our questions and helped us plan and execute the exact timeline we were looking for. On our wedding day, Jordan helped keep us calm when there was a chance of rain and helped our guests stay dry when there was a sunshower five minutes before our ceremony was set to start. She and the Willowdale Estate team immediately ensured our guests were dry with umbrellas and moved folks inside and then back into seats again in the courtyard within ten minutes and our ceremony started right on time and never missed a beat. Throughout the cocktail hour Jordan ensured that we had food brought to our suite so we could actually eat and then made sure our night flowed perfectly. Our guests continue to rave about the food at our wedding and were so impressed with the team throughout the entire evening. We absolutely recommend Willowdale Estate to anyone looking for a wedding venue!!!”

“The space was absolutely perfect for our small wedding (40 people) and larger celebration (approximately 150 people open house style). We loved the intimate ceremony feel, ability to get ready onsite, how quickly we could change the space from a ceremony layout to being able to welcome additional guests, and loved having the space for our full celebration weekend. Our out of town family members were even able to stay there with the 4 lower level bedrooms! There was plenty of parking, and both the venue and outdoor space made for beautiful pictures (lighting was wonderful!) The space is a beautiful historic building that's been converted to a four story (plus rooftop!) party venue. I loved that Deity provides all the dinnerware, linens and candles, it really limited the decisions we had to make so we could focus on personal touches for our day. We wanted our wedding to feel like an amazing house party, which Deity perfectly delivered. Anna was an incredible coordinator, so on top of everything and thoughtful. The day-of team ran everything so smoothly - I honestly wasn't stressed for a moment, because everyone was organized, calm and clearly loves what they do. The chef and DJ (part of the all-inclusive pricing!) were also amazing. Our guests are still raving about the delicious family-style dinner from the mind of Chef James; and how DJ BenHaMeen read the room and kept us dancing and singing until the wee hours of the morning.
