It all started with Alice Jaeger - the legend at the heart of the our story. In 1929, while the Pacific Coast Highway was under initial construction, Alice began plans for a homestead haven to offer travelers a place to rest & refuel. Alice planted cacti & succulents by hand throughout the land. With her husband, Steve, a ranch-style home was built in 1936. It later became a diner + tiny inn; a gathering place for locals and wanderers to rest, refuel, and nourish with a homegrown meal. That ranch-home is what we call Big Sur Bakery today. We're honored to carry on the traditions. The unique charm of Big Sur Bakery is built into the walls & windows through the tales of every single love story that has graced our sweet little rest-stop-meets-bakeshop we call home.

Our venue features a century-old remodeled 4,000-square-foot barn located above a natural spring water creek. We are located in beautiful Paso Robles wine country on a 2,800-acre ranch just 5 miles from Highway 101.

Our standard wedding package is renting the camp for the entire weekend! So up to 100 of your guests can stay in cabins both Friday and Saturday nights, enjoy a campfire as the sun sets over the Pacific, and simply take in the magic of our space.
