After choosing second song, they allowed us to set up phone calls to interview DJ's to find the perfect fit for us. We ended up choosing DJ Daniel Cabral. Daniel was attentive and set up multiple meetings with us prior to our wedding to discuss our vision for our wedding day. Everything ran perfectly throughout the entire day. The audio for our ceremony was perfect and the music selections throughout cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception set the mood for our wedding. We also hired a string trio through second song and they did a beautiful job at our ceremony and cocktail hour. Our reception was a party and Daniel made sure people were on the dance floor all night long. We also had my cousin play the trumpet at our reception while Daniel played a song in the background. Daniel mic'd up his trumpet for us and it was such a hit! We also got our Photo Booth through second song and they provided the uplighting at the venue! “We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”

“If you're looking for a wedding DJ with great energy, the ability to keep everyone dancing, keep your event flowing and meet the mood of your guests, DJ Shane is the man for the job! The first time we talked to him on the phone we could tell he was going to match our vibe and deliver the wedding we were wanting. We had no idea what we were doing, but he kept us organized and suggested different things that helped us stay on track with different aspects of the wedding. Shane traveled all the way to Fairview for our wedding last weekend, which was not a short drive by any means. He was very fair with pricing, especially with how far he had to travel. Not only did he time our ceremony perfectly with smooth transitions between songs, but he also kept our guests informed of what was happening, without it feeling like he was telling them what to do. He was able to help keep our stress levels low by checking in with us at the right times, working with the maid of honor for certain things and even keeping an eye on the weather. Shane excused tables during dinner at even intervals to ensure there wasn't a long line or people waiting for too long. Speeches and dances were done at the best times throughout the night and he kept everyone engaged and having fun. His ability to read the room and flow through different genres at the right moment is incredible. Fitting in requests from seven year olds seems like it would be impossible, but Shane did it with ease and made the kids feel comfortable enough to keep requesting more. He even had his drone out recording and catching incredible views of the venue, ceremony and reception. It felt more like a friend was DJing for us, not someone we found online and we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. We recommend DJ Shane one hundred times over!”

Aloha! I'm Roman. I've been living on the magical island of O'ahu since I came to UH Manoa in 2009 for my Economics Degree. I got involved with the University radio station (90.1 FM), started doing live events, and really loved showing off my rare music finds. Nothing beats the feeling of rocking a live crowd for track after track, especially after the long pause in events! DJing is all I do for "work", and I love it! Each wedding or event I play is full of different people and different ages from all over the world, and they all have differing tastes in music- blending so many different genres and styles of music is such a fun challenge!

“DJ Roman Candles was excellent! He pulled off a set that was beyond our wildest dreams. We had a brief phone meeting a week before the wedding about how we wanted the vibe to be and he pulled it off perfectly. Us and our guests were blown away by his performance. After the wedding, all of our guests were raving how awesome he was! He blended all of our requested genres. The transitions between genres and between songs were spot on! He had all of our guests up and dancing. Our wedding coordinator said he was very easy to work and communicate with. He was very organized and had all the equipment we needed. He also took care of the emcee duties and did an awesome job! He had an app we could use to upload all of our song requests. We found it very useful for organizing the songs we wanted played at each part of the night. He totally killed it and we could not imagine anyone doing better. 10/10. We can’t stop watching videos of how fun the night went! Totally recommend DJ Roman Candles for your wedding or any other events!!!”

“Steve is an excellent DJ and MC! Right from the first call he was great with explaining the process and his services and he truly goes above and beyond. The communication and service as great throughout the process. He sent us a sample timeline for the wedding day which included all of the "special songs" required, and about how many songs we needed for each part of the day. We loved that we were able to provide specific songs for each part that really fit us and who we are. On our wedding day he showed up early and set up everything so that it blended seamlessly with the venue. Everything was played as requested and on time, and he went above and beyond introducing himself to the guests and letting them know other details - such as where to sign the guest book and the shuttle departure times. Our guests told us they loved the music and he helped make our day great and run smoothly!”

“DJ Diego was one of our favourite vendors at our wedding. He was reliable and so chill to work with. Diego was amazing at setting the exact vibes we were hoping for during every part of the reception, from cocktail hour to dinner to the dance floor, and he somehow kept the party going all evening without a single lull. Guests came up to us throughout the night with glowing compliments for Diego. One of our guests who hates dancing and loves cake said Diego was so good that she missed the cake because she didn’t want to leave the dance floor. Something that also stood out to me was Diego’s thoughtfulness - I asked my sister to request Roses by Outkast, and my sister told me that Diego made sure to confirm that the bride was the one making the request before playing it (I guess it’s a diss track). Diego is the best wedding DJ we could have ever asked for. We’ve attended two weddings since our own, and at both, mutual guests commented that they wished Diego were the DJ (including a wedding over a year later). We wholeheartedly recommend Diego, and Hawaii is so incredibly lucky to have him!”
