Allerton offers an extraordinary setting unlike any other. Beautiful Formal Gardens, pristine Natural Areas, a two-story hay barn, and a historic Mansion make Allerton the perfect place for your dream wedding. The historic Allerton Mansion features exquisite wood floors, marble fireplaces, elegant furnishings, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Meadow, reflecting pond, and woodlands. Each of our Formal Gardens creates a unique, magical space for a wedding ceremony. The Gardens feature extensive plantings and over 100 ornaments and sculptures. Set amid the beauty of an idyllic nine-acre farmstead, this converted two-story Dutch hay barn, with its exposed timbers and 30-foot ceiling, offers a rustic and charming atmosphere unlike others found in Central Illinois.

​The Lodge at KLM Park is surrounded by 52 acres of beautifully appointed parkland. Built in 1927 and designed by R. Harold Zook, one of the most renowned residential architects in the western suburbs, The Lodge exudes grace and elegance. It is as versatile as it is engaging, welcoming a variety of special events and occasions from weddings to social functions. The first floor of the English-style building is alive with character, providing a spacious living room with a fireplace, a piano, dining room, kitchen, alcove, and access to the beautiful patios and surrounding grounds that may be used for outdoor event space. ​

The house, known today as Reid Hall, was completed in 1908 and the family moved in on May 5, led by J. Ogden Armour, until approximately September of 1927. Many of the house’s mantle pieces, there are 15, and the paneling of the library reading room (or former living room), were imported from Paris, Vienna and London, including the marble dining room while the main walls are of Italian marble, the central panels of each wall have been painted over the plaster to simulate actual marble. It is also reputed that the marble staircase was built with the primary purpose in mind that their daughter, Lolita Ogden Armour, would descend the curving stairway on her wedding day, which she did in 1921, to John J. Mitchell, Jr. Eventually the property was sold to Lake Forest Academy where classes began in 1948. Today, Academy grounds total approximately 170 acres.

Our 3.5-acre venue location includes gorgeous views alongside the Meramec river and our serene 50 year-old walnut grove. Couples are welcome to enjoy the picturesque Lost Hill Lake and our 150 surrounding acres of lush greenery for breathtaking portraits.
