“Manny was one of THE BEST vendors that I hired for my wedding! From the moment that we met at an open house, he was incredibly professional, warm and kind, and the most supportive person! I also really was drawn to his photography style, which was bright and colorful and had amazing composition. Upon hiring him, he provided the most detailed photography guide I’ve ever received with a myriad of wedding tips so I was already so impressed from the very beginning. Manny both took my bridals and did photography for our wedding. For my bridals, we were looking to do a Spanish vibe and so we planned a location in San Antonio that was colorful and vibrant. The day of, he was quick on his feet to pivot plans when our original location ended up being too crowded, and I actually ended up LOVING our second location even more. During the entire session, he had so many great ideas for poses, and also helped my mom get involved while she helped me with my dress. The shots he took blew me away! The colors, the poses, my dress, the flowers - he captured everything so perfectly! Come wedding day, Manny and his assistant were so on top of every single moment and pose - making sure that we captured all the important moments and the fun little ones in between. He had so many ideas for things to capture and helped my bridal party and family with a variety of poses. My bridal party raved how much they loved Manny and how comfortable he made everyone feel while taking photos. Wherever we were, there was Manny or his assistant making sure they got the shot. We got the sneak peeks a week later and the full set almost two months later and again, I was blown away with all the photos! “Kaity did a great job, especially considering all the uncertainty of bad weather (my ceremony was outdoors) we had to all deal with. She always had an upbeat and positive attitude the whole time, which I know can be very difficult to do around my family. She definitely would just roll with all the punches to keep us on track. I was anxious the entire day, but Kaity reassured me that she had everything under control and I knew I could trust her. She even went out of her way to get me and my husband little care packages on the day of, with inspiring notes. The only hiccups I actually noticed was with announcements and speeches, because the volume and echo was not great, so people didn't know when things were actually happening, so I wish we could've told the DJ sooner to fix the issue. We had also wanted to have our dinners boxed up, because my husband and I were both too anxious and excited to really eat, so our food ended up being thrown away, plus we didn't receive the top tier of our wedding cake to save for the tradition thing (but my guess is because they served it all to the guests). Unfortunately, at the end of the night, we were super rushed to get everything out of the building, because of the time and the pouring rain- I was running around barefoot in my dress while my husband was passed out in the car, and I was one of the few trying to get everything packed and cleaned up. However, Kaity and her husband really helped us out by collecting all the left items and holding onto them for us until the next day. She kept in contact, since at least a month beforehand, to make sure we had everything in order and sent her all the vendor contacts , so she could be included with all the day-of plans. She really did go above and beyond to make sure I had the best day possible, and I really appreciated that from her. I would definitely hire her again.”

The staff was great and made some excellent cocktails and I also have to shout out DJ Dillon for bringing such a fun vibe to our karaoke after party (another Mariana recommendation). You do need to put your faith in Mariana and be prepared to "let go", however. If you're looking to be very hands-on and are particular about all the little details, prepare to be frustrated because that's not the way Mariana works. She has her own process and knows what will and will not work based on experience, and she can be tricky to get in touch with until closer to the wedding date. Ultimately, though, she came through and did an excellent job for us. Trust in Mariana! Overall, it was super helpful that AvantGarden took care of most of the wedding planning (including delivering our flowers to our off-site ceremony venue), and the space made for such a fun atmosphere during the reception. I would definitely recommend AvantGarden as a wedding venue, especially for couples who are looking for a less stuffy and more unique atmosphere and who are looking to be more hands-off in the planning process.”
