“We had the privilege of being the first wedding at Retreat Farm and they knocked it out of the park. The venue itself was gorgeous and the scenery was absolutely perfect for our fall wedding. The new barn was beautifully done and spacious enough for all of our guests. Sam and Jen were the dream team when it came to preparing for the day in advance and for taking the stress off my shoulders the day of. I went into my day prepared to be bombarded with questions and stressed with scheduling but Sam and Jen handled everything for us. I cannot express for grateful I am to have found this wonderful venue and for the support and positivity that came from the staff. Also huge shoutout to Pete the bartender everyone loved you!! “Katherine and Daniel's Weatherhead Hollow is a magical Vermont wedding venue. Their direct and caring communication style made planning our big day a breeze. The venue was clean, beautiful, and oozed New England charm with its rustic barns and sweeping mountain views. On our wedding day, Katherine and Daniel checked in frequently to ensure everything ran smoothly. Guests raved about the gorgeous property for our ceremony and the cozy barn for dancing the night away under twinkly lights. We highly recommend Weatherhead Hollow if you're seeking a whimsical, fairy tale-esque Vermont wedding venue with attentive yet laidback hosts.”

Scott Farm Orchard
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Dummerston, VT

  • Starts at $4,500

The 571-acre Scott Farm, a The Landmark Trust USA property, is home to 130 varieties of ecologically-grown heirloom apples and other fine fruits, a seasonal Farm Market, and the Apple Barn Event Center. All 23 buildings on the property are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A popular wedding venue, the farm is surrounded by four authentically-restored historic year-round vacation rental properties accommodating up to 22 guests—one of which is Rudyard Kipling’s Naulakha where he penned the Jungle Book. The Stone Trust Education Center, located in the 1862 Barn, showcases beautiful, unique dry-stone wall installations around the property. The Apple Barn accommodates up to 120 guests, has a commercial kitchen, three restrooms, one is wheelchair accessible. Overlooking the farm and mountains, a delightful spot for special occasions, rehearsal dinners, and wedding receptions. Exchange vows in the Courtyard or by a pond overlooking the apple orchard and stonewalls.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • No on-site bridal suite
  • No in-house catering options
  • Does not provide event staff
“My husband and I visited Scott Farm on two occasions before our June 2025 wedding and will continue to treasure it as a destination. The staff, especially Suzanne Tessitore, are absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to help us produce the (slightly alternative) wedding of our dreams. Our 80 guests could comfortably gather in the Apple Barn, by the brook, and at Naulakha for our send-off brunch the morning after. The natural beauty and calm of Dummerston combined with the beautiful, quirky features of the property like the stone walls and cafe bar really made the whole event feel like an escape from reality. We were able to rent all the houses on the property for ourselves and our immediate families, which was a great way to spend lots of time together (and have help close by on set-up day!). It was personally meaningful to me as a native Vermonter to share this state with our people, especially at a venue that encapsulates so many of the values and features that I love about it. I could go on and on! Some more key points: - We were a very (very) DIY couple and appreciated the control we were given for space usage, setup, and flow of the day -- we did not need a lot of hand-holding and we never felt like we were being "managed" - I have a family member who uses a wheelchair and he was able to get around the Apple Barn and surrounding grounds just fine - We ordered apple cider doughnuts from the farm as part of our wedding dessert and they were A - The vendors that Scott Farm suggested to us were all great, and as someone easily overwhelmed by decision fatigue I appreciated that in this relatively remote area there weren't too many options - Many of our guests were LGBTQIA and (not surprisingly for Vermont) were very comfortable - My father in law wanted to bake sourdough bread for our welcome dinner and Suzanne brought us her personal dutch oven for him to use!?! I would recommend Scott Farm as a venue for anyone looking for a naturally beautiful, simple venue highlighting the Vermont landscape and local food economy. We will treasure these memories forever.”

“Where do I even begin - Stone Garden is a fairytale dream! Every single aspect of our experience, from the first moment we set foot on the property, was perfect! We used Stone Garden as our ‘welcome party’ venue the night before (we had a taco truck come yard games and bar service by Stone Garden), our wedding ceremony and reception venue, our florals, our bartending with custom drinks, and our coordinators. We are SO happy we did. For our wedding, we wanted something outdoors but with a rain plan, with a view on the water, with parking, flexible with our decor ideas, and close to hotels. We got all of this and beyond. Kristen and Frank really make magic happen. They are experts in paying attention to detail, going the extra mile to make your vision come to life, and making you feel important and celebrated. The second we met them we knew we were in good, trustworthy hands. Our wedding dreams included driving up to the ceremony in a 1955 Chevy, disco balls hung over the dance floor, tons of candles and bud vases, an extra cake for a birthday, vintage furniture, a portrait artist, an audio guestbook, and more. All of this was PERFECTLY achieved in the most gloriously beautiful way. IN THE RAIN. We were expecting a drizzle but it totally poured on our wedding day. Kristen and Frank communicated with us up to the final hours to decide how we could make the most of our day, and they were able to pivot and adapt to every single change- including moving furniture and putting sides on the tent. Their team kept us fed, informed, and completely carefree all night long. Our guests cannot stop telling us how beautiful the venue was (the view, the landscaping, the lights, everything!) and how nice and talented all the staff were. Everyone asks me how I found such a gem. We all loved it so much. It felt elegant and cozy at the same time. Every single recommendation for vendors, hotels, transportation -every piece of advice offered to us by Kristen and Frank- was so valuable and impeccable. I will never stop talking about my flowers- Kristen absolutely NAILED my vision and I have preserved all of them in as many ways as I could. Frank made the most gorgeous, delicious drinks for us and we drank them out of our own special glasses we brought from home, and the staff kept them full for us all night long, without us ever once asking!! Kristen’s coordination staff even took photos and videos for us throughout the night, and some of my very favorite keepsakes of the whole wedding are from them. They are angels!!! The whole team!!!!! I cannot recommend Stone Garden enough, I will be raving about it FOREVER.”

“From beginning to end, our experience at Farm Road Estate was absolute perfection. Even the planning process was enjoyable thanks to Kelly and her incredible team, who went above and beyond every step of the way. From setting up Guitar Hero in the speakeasy for our welcome party, to making sure our grandmas walked down the aisle smoothly, to making sure we were always fed during every little gap of the day—the attention to detail and genuine care were unmatched. The venue itself is breathtaking, and every guest couldn’t stop raving about how comfortable the rooms and bedding were. And the food… wow. I had friends telling me they literally licked their plates (politely, of course). Everything was phenomenal. It truly felt like we had all our loved ones together for the most beautiful sleepaway weekend, eating, drinking, laughing, and celebrating. We wish we could go back and relive it all over again. Hearing people talk about our wedding gives us the chance to do just that, and it fills our hearts every single time. To Kelly, Mike (the Guitar Hero master), Lauren, Giselle, Chef Joe, Theresa, Steven, Meg, and every single staff member who worked tirelessly to make our weekend so special. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will cherish these memories forever. If you’re on the fence about having your wedding here, do it. You will not regret it.”

“My wife & I had the privilege to get married surrounded by our friends & family at the beautiful Montague Retreat Center in June of 2024. There’s a seemingly endless list of what drew us to MRC, but some key features to highlight: - Incredibly beautiful indoor & outdoor spaces - Comfortable, spacious, and accessible on-site lodging options - Flexible weekend buyout, enabling us to bring all of our ideas to life without much restriction or hurdles - Wheelhouse Catering: some of the best wedding food we’ve ever tasted in our lives - All of Montague staff, especially Jason Jason deserves his own dedicated review, but from the planning stages all the way through until the end of our weekend, Jason made himself available and ready to help. Jason referred several our vendors that made our day go off without a hitch, all of whom brought creative and personal touches that made our day so special. He consistently went above and beyond day of as well, from catching decorations that needed to be put out, to being hands-on assisting guests that needed extra help, and facilitating vendors to ensure everything was in its right place. His knowledge and general presence brought a calming energy that really helped us feel at home at MRC. For our wedding weekend (170 guests), we really took advantage of all we could at MRC. We observed first hand and heard from guests after our wedding that they felt they had plenty of space to enjoy themselves comfortably through the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. With the full weekend rented, we used every square inch that the venue offered: - Friday: Portable Brick Oven Pizza in front of the Great Hall - Saturday AM: family provided breakfast buffet near the dining tent - Ceremony: Outdoor up on the ceremony ring - Cocktail Hour: Custom Poetry and plenty of activities all around the barn - Reception: Live band with stage lighting & sound; DJ later in the evening - Saturday Night: Late night fire pit & snacks for the wedding party - Sunday AM: Bagel sandwiches from Tandem Bagel in the lower level of the barn We can’t stress enough how perfect our weekend was at MRC. Montague Retreat Center will always hold a special place in our hearts, as it left a lasting impact on not only us, but our friends and family as well. At the end of our wedding weekend, many of our family members suggested that we rent out the space for a night every few years for a recurring big family bash. We may have to do just that!”

In 2011 we purchased an old dairy farm in a quiet corner of Harrisville, New Hampshire. Mayfair Farm offers a complete special events package that is truly unique. With our inspiring views, welcoming barn, and farm-to-table menu, your family and friends will share a one-of-a-kind experience. Our menu is hand-crafted and ethically produced, and each item is made with the most important ingredient—love. And, as our client, you will enjoy the benefits of flexibility and collaboration as we guide you through each step of the event-planning process. If you can think it up, we would love to help you make it happen. We look forward to sharing our farm with you! Sarah Heffron and Craig Thompson

“To find a wedding venue that is as picture perfect, serene, elegant, and magnifies the beauty of New Hampshire all in one place is rare, but this is exactly what Mayfair Farm has achieved. My husband and I were lucky enough to have been married at Mayfair Farm in August 2024. From the very beginning, Mayfair Farm spoke volumes to us as not only does the entire venue represent our home state of NH, but their focus on farm-to-table food sold us in a heartbeat. As two foodies, my husband and I could not get over how unique of an experience it was to help curate our wedding menu based off of Sarah and Craig’s farm and to morph our food to fit our own food-loving wants. Sarah and Craig are a wonderful duo and to have been able to work with Sarah and her incredible team was a treat. They provided effortless class and taste throughout our rehearsal dinner and entire wedding day. Sarah and her team are easy to communicate with and provided excellent insight to any questions that arose throughout the wedding planning process. My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of Mayfair Farm!”

Second, the venue was beautiful. The food delicious. And service incredible. The price was exactly what we were looking for: AFFORDABLE. But the best part was Haley. She made wedding planning with the venue easy, uncomplicated, and was very open to our ideas and what we wanted for our big day.”

Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Ashfield, MA
  • Up to 140 guests

We plan, arrange, and cater events—weddings, bat and bar mitzvahs, showers, reunions, small gatherings, memorial services or anything you can think of, indoors or outdoors. We host events here at the Curtis House, our 1850s Dutch Colonial. The summer home of George William Curtis, then the editor of Harpers Weekly. It’s a charming, sprawling old house that abuts the town green. During warmer months events take place in our gardens and the fully restored late 19th century barn. Whatever you imagine for your event, we're here to help you realize your dreams. We'll help you every step of the way, from planning and budgeting to coordinating the day. We open our home to you and take away all the stress of planning your dream day. We want to make your day about who you are.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Unique barn setting
  • Exudes old-world charm
  • Has a relaxed and casual vibe

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
“I cannot speak highly enough about our experience hosting our wedding at The Curtis House by Gloriosa & Co. My husband and I got married a couple of weeks ago (September 2024) and our wedding was truly one the happiest, best days of our lives thanks to the love and personalization that Gloria and Emma put into planning and executing our day. We were drawn to so many things about the venue, including the charming setting of Ashfield, the rustic but modernized aesthetic of the barn, the beautiful gardens and greenhouse, and the house being an available space to get ready. We were also drawn to the convenience and uniqueness of being able to provide our floral arrangements from Gloria’s greenhouse and gardens on-site, and having all of the food and beverages taken care of through the venue’s catering and bar team. But what made us decide to book this venue for our special day was the attention that Gloria and Emma give each couple. This venue is not your typical wedding factory that puts on weddings multiple times a week, every week of the year; Gloria and Emma host between 12-15 weddings per year and consequently each couple they work with gets full access to the venue the weekend of their wedding and so much guidance during the planning process. We were able to cultivate a vegetarian menu consisting of so many of our favorite foods plus a number of signature dishes of the venue, such as a butternut squash galette that was a crowd favorite. Sustainability is also incredibly important to us as a couple, and Gloria and Emma are committed to sourcing only local, seasonal ingredients for the food and florals and minimizing waste, which meant so much to us. In terms of decor and furnishings, the venue has so much available for couples to use, such as tables, chairs, ceremony benches, several wedding arches to choose from, displays for food or guest favors, tableware, candles, string lights, and more. We did not have to rent or coordinate anything other than the few DIY projects we made, which Gloria and Emma effortlessly integrated into the set up for us. Being able to take care of practically everything through Gloria and Emma made planning so much simpler. On the wedding day, Gloria, Emma, and their team handled the venue set up in a few hours, which happened like a choreographed dance that required practically no work from us or our wedding parties other than providing input and approval along the way. Everything went extremely smoothly and we were able to be fully present. After our ceremony, my husband and I returned to the house, where Gloria had set up champagne and a spread of our hors d'oeuvres for us to enjoy over a few minutes of privacy, which is something she had recommended we do as we took in the moment together. Our guests have had nothing but positive things to say about our wedding and it was clear the day of how much fun everyone had. We have received so many compliments about how beautiful and authentic the venue was, how exquisite Gloria’s floral arrangements were, how delicious all of the food was (even the heavy meat-eaters loved the vegetarian menu), and how this will be a wedding they will always remember. Gloria made us feel like part of her family and we were so happy to be able to support her business. We truly could not have asked for a more memorable, personalized, loving, and beautiful wedding, and hope that many other couples have the pleasure of getting married at this special place.”

“I cannot recommend Four Winds Farm enough. Not only was our wedding perfect and unforgettable, but the whole weekend was so truly special. Ian and Bri went above and beyond to make our wedding dreams come true with such care and ease. Every single inch of Four Winds is gorgeous, you’ll have a hard time choosing where you want it all to happen! We also really appreciated the history and character of the barn, we barely had to decorate as the space was filled with memorabilia and fun details. It’s really the coolest spot. As we come up on our first anniversary, we’re wishing we could go back and relive it all!”

“The Colonial Hotel was the perfect place to host our wedding. We stayed over the night before and got ready there the morning of, and had our cocktail hour and reception under the tent. From the first email, Mary was beyond helpful and communicative. She made the entire process as smooth as possible. I always felt like she had it under control! She even let us drop off our decor a couple weeks in advance, and then her and her team handled all of the setup. Although I was extremely involved in the planning during my engagement, Mary made it easy to enjoy the day and forget about all of the little things. The convenience of the Colonial Grille made it easy to continue on to our after party. The food was great and so were the drinks! The best part was finishing pictures and immediately having Mary deliver my new husband & I our signature cocktails without having to ask. Their partnership with Gerardos also made the cake process extremely easy. Would 10000000% recommend working with Mary & her team for your big day!”

“My husband and I got married at the Northampton Country Club in the fall of 2023. We had 110 people and everyone loved the crisp clean atmosphere of the venue. People had plenty of space to move about and we had a good size dance floor as well! My mother in-law was the one who made the suggestion to get married here as she had attended a wedding the previous year and loved it. We chose to have our ceremony outside on the hill in front of the gazebo and the setting was perfect. The trees had almost fully turned and the backdrop looked amazing in our photos. I loved that I could choose from a list of vendors and not be pressured into a preferred caterer. There was a shuttle from our hotel, which made this location very accessible for out of town guests. I highly recommend this location, you get so much value for what they offer. The bar staff was very accommodating and made the night fun for our guests!”

“The Blue Bear Inn was the perfect wedding venue for us! We knew we wanted a venue that allowed dogs, was close to an airport (1 hr) for family traveling, had excellent food, offered beautiful scenery, could house our out-of-town guests, was mostly a one stop shop (with lodging, wedding venue, ceremony site options, day-of-coordination, catering, & cake/desserts), and provided historical romance vibes without being a barn — and the Blue Bear checked every box and then some! Carrie, Bob, and the team gave us such a special wedding weekend in May - they didn't plan the most perfect rainbow, but I know they would’ve if they could!”

“Where do I even begin? We are still on a high from our wedding day, which took place about three weeks ago. Hildene was nothing short of spectacular. Not only were the incredible views, stunning gardens, and historic ambiance breathtaking, but the entire Hildene team was an absolute joy to work with. For starters, we chose to tour venues around Manchester, and after touring Hildene, it was a no-brainer for us. The private, in-depth tour made us feel as though Theresa and her team were genuinely passionate about the property and their roles. Hildene provides ceremony chairs, reception chairs and tables, and a beautiful setting where you work directly with their florist and catering partners. They also provide day-of coordination. All of this is to say that choosing Hildene means so many decisions and details are already taken care of, which makes the planning process that much easier. Next, I need to rave about the team: Theresa, Carmine, Anne, Nick/Pangaea (the caterer), Peggy/Lily of the Valley (the florist), and anyone else I may have missed. Theresa and the Hildene team made us feel as though we were the only wedding they had that entire year. They dedicated so much time and attention to us. We had MANY questions, especially since we ultimately decided not to work with a planner, and Theresa would spend so much time on the phone with us, patiently walking through every detail and answering all of our questions. Nick and Peggy were also a joy to work with. We made many edits and they were patient throughout all of it. The food was incredible, the tasting was so much fun, and the florals were absolutely beautiful. Peggy is so talented! On the day of the wedding, Theresa stuck by my side and handled everything with SUCH calmness and grace. She never seemed stressed or overwhelmed, which, in turn, helped us feel calm, too. She had everything under control! She even helped me bustle my dress! Our wedding day was a dream come true. We wanted a mountain and garden setting in Vermont, and the Hildene team brought that vision to life. All of our guests told my parents that Hildene was the most unique and stunning venue they had ever seen. Choosing Hildene as our venue was one of the best decisions we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. We cannot thank the entire Hildene team enough for helping make our wedding day so incredibly special. Kudos to the entire Hildene team!”

“We stayed here for our entire wedding weekend, and we had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party here as well. For starters, Morgan is amazing. She was so flexible, easy to work with, and so organized. She is so attuned to the finer details and was always available to answer any questions. She was reliable, and I could feel her genuine sense of excitement for us when she was helping us plan. Nothing felt stressful while planning with Morgan, and she made our experience amazing. The welcome party was so much fun, and they hit the nail on the head. The food was spectacular. Kudos to the Reluctant Panther chef, as everything was absolutely mouthwatering. From the passed hors d'oeuvres to the main meal, it was some of the best food I've ever had. The inn itself is so beautiful. Each room has its own sense of self and such striking character. You really feel like you're in a Vermont inn rather than a commercial hotel. The bathroom in every single room is ginormous, with so much space. And don't even get me started on the breakfast picnic baskets! My friends and I couldn't get over how cute they were. Such a special touch for them to be delivered to each room as well. We love it here and can't wait to visit in the future! I would highly recommend staying here or planning any event here.”

Founded in 1814, The West Boylston Company was a large textile manufacturer in West Boylston, MA. At the turn of the century the company faced a crisis: the site of their mill would be flooded to form the Wachusett Reservoir. Instead of abandoning the mill, the company dismantled it brick by brick and shipped it to its new home in Easthampton, where it was rebuilt on the banks of the Lower Mill Pond. Now, a century later, The Boylston Rooms retains the integrity of the 1814 original mill in every brick and beam. Our rental includes planners and decor at no added cost. “From the second we saw the venue in person and met with the Event Manager, Myles, we knew we found the perfect venue. The venue was beautiful from the start but the added touches of drapery, being able to select the right arch from their numerous options and countless other decor items really allowed us to bring our vision to life. The event spaces of the ceremony room, courtyard for cocktail hour and reception room comfortably fit our 94 guests. We were also very appreciative of not only having a spacious bridal suite to get ready in but also a grooms suite, as both came in handy. In briefly working with the Owner and Event Manager, Erin, we were introduced to the transportation option of using the venue's trolley service, which we were so thrilled we went with as our guests greatly enjoyed the special ride. And as mentioned, we knew The Boylston Rooms was the right venue for us after we met with Myles. Working with Myles was fun, effortless and very thorough. We also had the chance to work with Event Manager, Alyssa, on the day of the wedding who did a great job meeting our needs each step of the way. We would highly recommend working with The Boylston Rooms if you're looking for a spectacular venue with myriad decor options and wonderful staff members. A special thank you from us to all of you for making our day truly magical!”

“We feel so lucky to have found the West Mountain Inn for our wedding. We first visited about a year before our wedding and immediately felt like it would be the perfect place for our special day. We were greeted by the resident golden retrievers, who followed us on our tour. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll be very happy with this venue! But really, it was Amie, Mary Beth and the rest of the staff who sold us. We immediately felt like they cared about making your day as perfect as possible for us, which was very welcome after touring other venues which felt like they wanted to squeeze every penny from us. After we decided on the venue, Amie was so willing to work with people like us who wanted to plan every detail possible. Amie answered all of my questions and sent additional information like floor plans so I could plan who was assigned to each room as soon as possible. Her communication over email was so incredible helpful! We absolutely loved that we could have so many guests staying at the inn and knew that would be perfect for our winter wedding. Next came our tasting, which was such a fun event. There are two tastings a year, both in March (though I think you could have a private tasting if you need). We loved being able to stay at the inn for a night and meet all of the other couples getting married here within the year. As our wedding was in February, we had to wait a long time between the tasting and trying the food again, and it absolutely didn’t disappoint! Chef Jeff did an amazing job with our welcome party, breakfast and lunch the day of the wedding, the absolutely amazing wedding dinner (and late night snacks), and brunch the next morning! We heard that most couples have a hard time eating during their weddings, but we cleaned our plates! Definitely try the butternut squash ravioli, it is incredible! We had our ceremony in the barn, then moved to the bar in the inn for cocktail hour, then dinner in the dining room, and dancing in the living room. They take out the big pieces of living room furniture and move some chairs to the side for dancing. A lot of my family was skeptical about that, but the inn knows what they’re doing!! The dance floor was plenty big for our party of 60 (and I’m sure it could have accommodate larger groups), and the chairs on the sides were a huge hit! It was incredible to be able to sit down for a minute and still feel like you’re a part of the party. I know a lot of our guests enjoyed that as well. We got ready in the Norman Rockwell suite, which worked out well since we had a small bridal party. We also loved getting to see all the rooms in the inn - every room is thought out so well and has little details that are so fun to find! We thought the inn was what made our wedding weekend so magical and cannot wait to visit again on anniversaries or other special occasions. Thank you so much to the entire team - we are so grateful to you!”
