The day after your wedding, will you remember the groom's reaction when he sees his bride for the first time, the emotion on dad's face when he gives his daughter away, the tears that come when vows are said, the laughter during the best man speech, or grandma getting down on the dance floor? You have spent so much time planning for your wedding day and it goes by in a blink of an eye. That's why it is so important to professionally capture the day via photography and content.

NH Images Photography Content was an excellent choice for our wedding photography. From the start, their communication was knowledgeable, efficient, and very understanding of our needs. The quality of their work was truly professional and excellent, capturing all the special moments in an inclusive way. Our photographer was punctual, discreet and very friendly, putting us at ease throughout the day. I think there’s a real absence of authenticity in today’s world. Everywhere we look, people are polishing themselves into a perfect image for the internet. But that’s not where the beauty is. The beauty lives in the real moments — the big, loud, messy, emotional, human ones you can’t stage or script. That’s what I chase. Since 2016, I’ve been documenting weddings for couples who want to feel present, relaxed, and fully themselves. I gravitate toward the candid, the unplanned, the way a glance turns into laughter and a quiet moment becomes unforgettable.

Steve has been excellent and so so fun to work with! I was specifically looking for a photographer who could capture the feeling in candidate, and Steve delivered (see wedding and engagement photos below)! Steve is super communicative, friendly, organized, professional, and a genuinely kind person. If you’re looking for a photographer, I strongly recommend reaching out to Steve — you won’t be disappointed!

Channing Johnson Photography
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Gloucester, MA

I have a photojournalism degree from the oldest and most prestigious journalism school in the country. TIME Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and U.S. News and World Report have all hired me to photograph assignments for them. Whether I’m capturing moments for a national audience or for a single family, I draw on my storytelling background to honor the truth in all moments big and small. My job isn’t to create beauty. My job is to see the beauty already there. All work is personal work.

When researching a wedding photographer, my husband and I knew we wanted photos that would last well beyond our wedding day. At the same time, we didn’t want taking photos to consume too much of the day. We found Channing, and he was beyond perfect. He was everything we wanted in a photographer and so much more. He was non-intrusive while capturing moments, made the process quick and easy (even for my husband, who’s not big on taking photos), and delivered work that was better than we ever could have imagined. Our photos are still the most talked-about part of our wedding, and we’re so happy we invested in Channing. Because of his documentary-style photography, we truly get to relive our wedding day every time we look at them.

Chris was such a joy to work with! From our very first meeting before even hiring him, he really spent the time to talk through what our vision was and how we wanted our day to be captured. He was a great support every step of the way for planning as well as on the big day! In addition to being a great listener, Chris has great suggestions on how to plan for photos based on his extensive experience (angles, timing, group shots). Our wedding was a large one, so Chris hired a fantastic second lead photographer and several other photographers throughout the day so our event was seamlessly captured! Another important note - all of our family and other vendors (makeup artists, planners, etc) commented on how great it was to work with Chris, and were excited to work with him on future events - I think this is such an important quality for a photographer, and definitely appreciated how professional and friendly Chris was with EVERYONE! He kept the day moving as it should and captured some unbelievable shots that I revisit on probably a daily basis :) I honestly cannot recommend Chris enough - from his genuine care and support for you through the planning and important day, to the absolutely stunning product he delivers. Thank you Chris for everything!!

My love for photography and the importance it plays in remembering cherished moments spans decades. Photographs are one of the only tangible items you receive after your wedding day (aside from the memories) to help you relive this time for the rest of your days. I will hype you up all day long to make sure you are enjoying every aspect of your day with your partner— that’s truly what it’s all about!

Erin is hands down the best photographer and truly made both our engagement shoot and wedding day the most memorable days ever!! Erin was very quick to respond to our initial inquiry, and she makes sure she is capturing YOUR vision of how you want your special day to be. My husband and I are both awkward when it comes to getting our picture taken, but Erin made us laugh so much during our engagement shoot (despite the well below freezing temperature in Boston last January) and we quickly felt relaxed and comfortable with her. She kept me calm on my wedding day and I never felt rushed throughout the day. The photos from our wedding are absolutely stunning and we get to relive the day over and over again thanks to her incredible talent. We cannot wait to work with Erin in the future!!

I'm Marc Sadowski, a New England wedding photographer with 20+ years of experience capturing weddings across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, and beyond. My approach is candid and documentary — I stay back, watch, and wait for the moments that happen when you forget the camera is there. I learned photography as a photojournalist, where you get one shot or you miss it forever. That instinct drives everything I do on your wedding day.

Marc and his team were an absolute joy to work with! They did an amazing job, capturing the most perfect and beautiful photos for our wedding. They were hardly noticeable while there, and caught moments that we would have never thought to have captured. Marc and his team truly demonstrate what it means to be professional photographers in every sense of the job, and my husband and I highly recommend booking with them!

Tessa always put our vision at the forefront of her work, and she worked with us every step of the planning process to make our elopement seamless. Available for MICRO-WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS only: I’m a Virginia transplant who makes her home north of Boston! I’m obsessed with the diversity and energy of the city, but also with how easy it is to escape to nature in New England. As an introvert, I definitely need both! I’m married to a handsome fellow creative (of the wordsmithing and storytelling variety) and we love our homebody life together. I’m a photographer because I think people are fascinating. Because memories are fleeting. Because we all need some beauty around us to help us remember how incredibly blessed we are to be alive.

Awarded Best of Zola
If you are looking for a photographer who really cares about the people she works with, takes great pictures and awesome to work with then Lorna is your person! When searching for a proposal photographer I was looking for someone that would be easy to communicate with and Lorna was just that and more! We scheduled a meet over Zoom, so she could get to know me and see if there was any questions I had for the day of the proposal. I enjoyed this as it helped me get to know more about the person who would be working with me on such an important moment. The day of the proposal she kept in contact with me up until we arrived at the location which I appreciated. Lorna even helped calm my nerves assuring me the location was correct as she arrived early to prepare (I never been and was afraid we might be at the wrong building) We absolutely loved the images when we received them! I appreciated she kept me updated on when we would be receiving the images and the pictures were awesome. We loved how she was able to capture our special moment and were so happy to see how great the pictures turned out. I would definitely recommend Lorna for anyone who is looking for a photographer. She was very nice, great communicator, and you can tell she truly cares and was happy for us. Thank you so much Lorna for helping us with our special moment.

Hi there! I’m Alexandria, a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in the Boston area. I’ve been in love with storytelling through photos since I picked up my first camera at just eight years old. My goal is simple: to create timeless, authentic images that reflect the joy, love, and little in-between moments that make your day uniquely yours. Before I turned my focus to weddings, I built my career photographing red carpets and editorials for Popstar! and Cosplay Culture Magazine, where I had the chance to work with artists like One Direction, Bella Thorne, and Stephen Baldwin.

Awarded Best of Zola
Alex graciously shot our engagement and post-engagement festivities and did a fantastic job capturing the weekend. Alex is incredibly professional - she already scouted the locations and knew where to shoot, while still provided a fun and carefree experience. She brought a creative energy that made the photo session feel relaxed and enjoyable. The final photos were absolutely beautiful - timeless shots that captured all the special moments of our engagement weekend. The quick turnaround was also impressive, as we received the full gallery shortly after the event. AKM Photography came prepared, knew exactly where to shoot for the best lighting and backdrops, and were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We couldn't be happier with the photos that will help us remember our engagement weekend forever.

I’m a photographer for people who don’t resonate with traditional wedding photography. For those who want their weddings to be told like a story that features every bear hug, belly laugh, stolen glance, spilled drink, booty shake, and happy tear. For those who prioritize genuine and unscripted moments over trends and shot lists. For those who don’t want to feel like they’re wasting their day posing for the camera. For those who are inspired by the past and hopeful for the future. For those looking to create a little bit of future nostalgia.

Prose Florals was sooo lucky to have worked weddings with Caroline. Not only is she the sweetest, her work is just incredible. She captured our florals for a wedding at the Rockfor Art Museum in September of 2022 and we still can't stop looking at them. From her photos we have gotten SOOO many compliments on the floral work we did for the wedding. Her talent is unmatched.

Terri Unger Photography

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember, and I’m lucky to have made it a central part of both my life and career. I specialize in capturing people in their environments, the connections between them, and the small moments that reveal their humanity. Weddings are a favorite because they’re full of real joy, love, and the moments that make life feel full. My approach blends a documentary eye with a fine art perspective, creating images that feel honest, thoughtful, and true to the people I photograph.

Terri was the perfect choice for our wedding photography. We booked her just one week before our wedding day. Regardless, Terri was prompt and professional in her communication. On the day, Terri guided us through the various shots, capturing the day, the scene, and our outfits with stunning color and light. She put us at ease despite our camera shyness. One of our favorite photos was an unplanned shot of us on my motorcycle as we passed it on the street. Upon seeing it, we instantly knew that it would be the one we frame to capture the day. We were thrilled with her work capturing our elopement and highly recommend Terri.

My work is vibrant, moment-driven, and authentic. I love focusing on your connection as a couple, what makes you and your wedding unique, and your interactions with family and friends as you celebrate together. My approach to wedding photography leans toward a documentary or photojournalistic style with a fine art element (I graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in studio art). While I might suggest an area with great lighting to stand in, I will never ask you to “pretend” to do anything. Ever.

We met Danielle at an LGBTQ wedding expo while searching for photographer that had experience photographing two dress weddings, a niche market we quickly figured out, and immediately fell in love. Her photos capture the moment and never feel overly posed, which won over my camera shy wife immediately. We did our engagement shoot on the streets of Salem and Danielle managed to capture the love we have for each other and made simple store fronts look like a Christmas wonderland without making the shoot feel like work. By the time we got to our wedding day, we had absolutely no concerns about her ability to capture the day as a single shooter and she definitely didn’t disappoint! She created the most perfect first look so we could take a moment together before the ceremony began, melted into the background and got a million candid photos of our night, set up the PERFECT photo flash dance to get some silly photos of our friend groups, and corralled our blended families for gorgeous group shots.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Gabby 3 times for a couples shoot, proposal photos and engagement photos and I can’t speak highly enough of her! She was so helpful in the planning and coordination of all the logistics before and during each shoot. She listened to all of my ideas and made my visions come to life! When I ran out of ideas, she was quick to make such creative suggestions that I never would have thought of. She even laid down in a shrub for who knows how long to capture the moment my husband proposed to me! All of her pictures are stunningly beautiful, timeless, and aesthetically pleasing. Gabby is the sweetest, most genuine person and she will make you feel comfortable the moment you meet her. Can’t recommend her enough!

Hi, Mark Here! I love telling stories with photographs and photographing a packed dance floor. For the last 17 years, I've been a documentary wedding photographer. Since then, I have developed a method and approach that enables me to document weddings that keep the day stress-free for you. My laid-back personality makes people feel at ease. This lets me catch honest moments showing how special it is when family and friends celebrate you. If you want your wedding photos to be stress-free, unscripted, authentic, and love a dance party, we should chat!

Five stars simply isn’t enough!!! Our experience with Mark was everything I could have hoped for and more. My husband and I chose to not make our wedding day about posing, re-posing, making sure we got the right shot, etc. We wanted to remember our day in film and photographs that actually captured the million little moments. We wanted art we can look back on and feel what we felt on our wedding day. That is why we chose Mark. Somehow, he was everywhere he needed to be, but never in the way, never taking over, never overstepping. He is kind, accommodating, easy to communicate with, amazing to work with. I cannot recommend him enough!!!

My name is Yi and I am a passionate wedding photographer that serves the greater MA & NH areas. When I'm not sipping on a latte that my lovely wife makes me in the morning, you can usually find me hanging out with my 3 favorite kids in the world. I’m a family man who dedicates majority of my time to three beautiful child and my lovely wife. I’m a basketball player. I don’t function well without a cup of latte. I’m a photographer who eats, sleeps and dreams about creating craft. I’m the guy for those of you who thinks you are awkward in front of camera. I am Yi.

Yi was our wedding photographer, and he was amazing in so many ways. From the very beginning, he was communicative, collaborative, creative, and incredibly supportive. He took the time to understand us, our vision, and the moments that mattered most, and he brought such a genuine and thoughtful approach to capturing our day. What stood out most about Yi was how comfortable he made us feel. He gave great direction when we needed it, but in a way that felt natural and never forced. His style is authentic, timeless, and beautifully captures the real emotions of the moment, from the big, unforgettable moments to the small candid ones we may not have even noticed ourselves. Yi was also incredibly compassionate and understanding with our families, making everyone feel comfortable and included. He has such a warm, personable energy that made having photos taken feel easy and enjoyable rather than something we had to perform for. When we received the first photos, we were completely blown away. He captured our wedding day exactly as it felt, full of love, joy, connection, emotion, and all the little moments that made it uniquely ours. We cannot recommend Yi enough. He is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but also someone who truly cares about the couples he works with. We feel so lucky to have had him capture such a special day in our lives!

Photography has been part of my life since 2009, long before it became my profession in 2015. My background is rooted in fine art, where I learned to slow down, observe, and pay attention to the subtle details most people pass by, the way light shifts, the space between moments, the emotion that lives in quiet gestures. That perspective naturally led me to wedding photography. Rather than staging every moment, I approach weddings as living stories, unfolding in real time.

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who captures the day without making it feel like a photoshoot, Jason is truly exceptional. From the moment he arrived, he was incredibly professional and thoughtful, but what stood out most was how discreet he was. It never felt like he was in the way or orchestrating moments that should have been natural. Because of that, my husband and I were able to fully be present and soak in our wedding day—and somehow he still captured every meaningful moment. I’m Indian and my husband is not, and Jason beautifully captured both the cultural intricacies of the day and the genuine emotions behind them. Looking through our photos, it’s amazing how many moments he caught that we didn’t even realize were happening at the time. We also received our photos sooner than expected, which was such a pleasant surprise. And the quality is absolutely stunning. The memories he captured, the quality and his eye are priceless. If you’re considering him for your wedding, do it. You’ll be so grateful you did.

Hi there - I'm Carli. An artist by nature, and someone who loves to tell a story through beautiful imagery. My style is mainly photojournalistic with an artistic eye. I love to capture moments that feel real and artistically beautiful. I want my photos to invoke the intimacy of a moment in time, or create a piece of art in its own right. But don't worry, I also love to capture fun! Every couple is different, and so is your story, so my approach to your wedding will be bespoke to you.

Carli met with me before the shoot to take some practice pics so that she would already be prepared with lighting. She was professional, prepared and punctual the day of. The photos came out great.

Hello my dears- I'm Connie. Through many years, I’ve devoted myself not just to image-making, but to discovering what makes a life beautiful: the simplicity of slowness; the quiet intimacy of touching a loved one’s face as sleep arrives. I’m drawn to kindness, feeling terrified but moving through to the other side, dancing alone in public, covered in sunlight. My work is shaped by watching how others love, by giving more than feels comfortable, by laughter so deep it brings tears. I try to see without judgment. To stay curious. To exist, as much as possible, with joy inside this fleeting, incredible moment we’re in right now.

We had an outstanding experience with Connie at Studio Atticus for our restaurant wedding in Boston. Aside from your new spouse and your immediate family, you will probably spend more time on your wedding day with your photographer than anyone else. From our first meeting, we felt immediately comfortable with Connie and were struck by her professionalism and her evident care for us. She was a calm, kind presence in the hectic moments as our wedding day got started, and as the evening went along she captured everything from the big formal moments to blink-and-you'll-miss-it magic, wonderfully and organically. Connie is clearly an extremely skilled photographer who takes pride in her craft, but more importantly she has an artist's eye for capturing special moments of love, connection, movement, laughter, and more. The images from our wedding are spectacular. They are stunningly composed without feeling contrived, thorough without feeling staged, and beautifully edited so everything looks natural and timeless. We have already relived our day over and over through her work and will treasure these images of family and friends for many years to come. We’re so grateful we had the chance to work with Connie for our wedding. If any of this resonates with you, your search is over! We recommend her in the strongest possible terms.

When I received my own wedding photos, I hoped to relive the magic—but instead, I felt something was missing. That experience became my “why”: no couple should ever feel that gap. Today, I photograph weddings and families in Greater Boston with a relaxed, genuine approach so you can be fully present. My goal is to give you timeless images that capture the magic and emotion of your story, letting you feel it all over again.

Photojellic Studio was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, their communication was quick, friendly, and kind - putting us at ease right away. The quality of their work was truly exceptional, with crisp, well-done, and beautiful photos that captured all the special moments of our day. They had a wonderful flexibility that made everyone feel relaxed in front of the camera, and they were the nicest and most caring people, showing real understanding and compassion throughout the entire process. We are thrilled with the final results and couldn't recommend Photojellic Studio more highly.

Hi! I'm Amanda! I am a lover of color and light, whose portraits are full of genuine emotion and life. I am a documentary style wedding photographer, and I very much enjoy capturing all the little in between moments as much as I do the big moments of your day. I want you to be able to look through your album and see the moments you may have missed while you were saying I do- your sister getting a little misty while you take your vows, your aunt taking shots with your besties. I want you to see the love you share with your partner reflected in your gallery.

I haven’t even seen all my photos yet, but I don’t need to, to write this. Amanda is the absolute best. Obviously her photos are stunning but she’s so much more than that. They day of the wedding she is everything, acts as a second coordinator, keeping the time, making sure we have everything (flowers, the rings, literally everything) and in my delusion not having prepared any umbrellas, she had extra cute white ones. She even was the one to put my veil on when my bridesmaids disappeared into the venue. Her calm demeanor creates such a sense of security. We truly would’ve been lost without her. It’s pretty much just a bonus that her photos are insane.

I am a self proclaimed romantic at heart, always have been. After 19 years of marriage, I am a believer in true love! Photographing the special day for couples of all ages and walks of life, is a real joy and I get a charge of excitement for each gig. Anyone that has met me knows that I am an extroverted person who is always on the move; always talking and thinking; and often engaging with others. I make everyone feel at ease. As a wedding photographer I leverage my experience as a pro along with my personality.

Awarded Best of Zola
Jim has truly become such a great friend in this process. The biggest thing you want to feel on your wedding day is comfort and support. Jim goes out of his way to make this happen. We first met and worked with Jim for our engagement photos. We had so much fun! Jim wasn't afraid of getting in the sand and water to get our pictures in the ocean. When our wedding was postponed, Jim was there to shoot our elopement (and keep the secret)! After waiting for eight months, we finally had our wedding. Even though it was raining, Jim captured every moment of our amazing day. We will be working with Jim for all of our photography needs in the future. Thank you, Jim!

Hi, I’m Marcela, a Massachusetts wedding photographer capturing celebrations with a balance of timeless imagery and genuine connection. For the past 7+ years, I’ve documented weddings with an approach that feels natural, intentional, and calm. My goal is to create photographs that look beautiful years from now, while helping you feel fully present on your wedding day. I can’t wait to hear your story.

Having worked in the wedding industry for years, I’ve always appreciated great photography, but it wasn’t until I became a bride myself that I truly understood its value! It’s nearly impossible to take in all of your wedding day, and that's why having someone there to capture not only what you experience, but also the moments you miss, is an extraordinary gift. Seeing photos of our family and friends enjoying the day, candid shots of us laughing and soaking it all in, and quiet moments we didn’t even realize were happening, all of it moved us in ways we didn’t expect. But beyond the images themselves, you need a photographer who understands you, someone you trust implicitly to preserve one of the most meaningful days of your life. Marcela has amazed me with her talent since the very first styled shoot we did together. But what truly sets her apart is her ability to make you feel at ease in front of the camera which, let’s be honest, can feel awkward if you’re not used to it. She has this incredible way of making the process feel natural and effortless, and her eye for capturing the most authentic, candid moments is unparalleled. For my husband and me, those relaxed, unposed shots were what we wanted most and Marcela delivered them beautifully. Even when it came to more formal portraits (which of course you need and want on your wedding day) the experience never felt stiff or staged. She works with ease, efficiency, and kindness, making the entire experience enjoyable and pressure-free. Her ability to adapt to any setting, request, or personality is remarkable. She reads the room intuitively and blends into the background so seamlessly that you often forget she’s there. That’s part of her magic; her presence never disrupts the moment, it enhances it. On a day when all eyes are on you and emotions run high, Marcela helps you stay present. And that presence is reflected in every frame. Her artistry, eye for detail, and signature style were exactly what we hoped for, but more than that, we adore who she is as a person. You spend so much of your day (and the lead-up to it) with your photographer, and having someone who feels like a friend makes all the difference. Marcela has captured our journey from couple’s portraits to engagement photos, our rehearsal dinner, and finally, our wedding day. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her with us during such joyful, unforgettable moments in our lives. Having worked with numerous photographers in the Boston/New England wedding industry, I can say with complete confidence that Marcela is among the best of the best and I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with our wedding photos. Her talent is undeniable, and your gallery will be nothing short of magical. With all our love and gratitude, Lauren & Matt

Alyse Grimm is the creator behind Things to do in Salem [dot] com. In addition to working in tourism in Salem, MA she is also a wedding photographer with 200+ weddings of experience and her work has been published on major wedding platforms. Her knowledge of the north shore combined with her experience makes her a natural fit for your north shore wedding. Alyse's style is photojournalistic with an eye for small details. She is less fond of posed photos. Alyse is open to travel but is giving priority to weddings on the North Shore of MA and to weddings that are non traditional/showcase the individuality of the couple.

Alyse worked with my fiancé and I for our engagement shoot at Beacon Hill. Since we are from out of town (NY) and the shoot took place at the height of Covid, this required some strategic planning on both ends. Alyse was so kind and flexible to work with. She assured us that even if last minute changes due to Covid had to happen, she would work with us. I was very stressed with the entire situation, but Alyse’s calm, reassuring personality put my mind at ease. She has many great ideas, but also listens to your vision and is open to doing shots that you like. We loved the way she captured who we are as a couple, in a place that is special to us. We received many compliments on our save the date cards which featured the photos from our shoot. If you are looking for a photographer who is easygoing, open minded, and knows the MA area well, then Alyse is your girl!
