“We had our September 2025 tented wedding at River Ranch in Lake Placid and honestly could not have picked a better Adirondack wedding venue. We were so happy they received their wedding permit, and the land-only rental gave us the freedom to create the entire wedding exactly how we wanted, from the tent and ceremony setup to cocktail hour and reception. The High Peaks views were unreal, the property felt private and spacious, and our guests could not stop talking about the scenery. If you are looking for a Lake Placid wedding venue for a custom tented wedding in the Adirondacks, River Ranch is truly one of a kind.”

“I love the Intervale Center, it is so beautiful! I knew that by choosing to get married there in July, we could really cut back on our decorations and let the landscaped grounds really shine. This venue is very conveniently located to Burlington, VT, but doesn't feel like you're in a city. It feels quiet and somewhat secluded. The rental/site fee was very affordable (and what you pay goes to a good cause!) and their guide book/post-booking-brochure is really helpful. They provide tables and chairs which are probably ample if you are having a small shindig, though you will likely want to cover the tables as they are not very pretty! Or you can always rent tables and chairs at additional cost. Most of what they offer is very DIY, so get some friends together (we set up in less than an hour with our friends). Our wedding here was pretty low-key with about 40 guests, but I think this could work for more formal gatherings too. My top of mind words to describe it would be "Pretty, local, affordable".”

“We had a phenomenal experience at the Essex. Despite some staff turnover when we were first securing the venue, everything has been seamless. We had the chance to take part in one of their large wedding tastings and it was incredible. It gave us a chance to try everything and talk to the chefs. It also gave us a chance to see the Farmhouse again and meet vendors. Also, the Farmhouse, their new venue, is stunning. It has 2 getting ready rooms built into the venue which was super convenient. My mother was able to be part of getting ready but also help oversee all decorating. Because the getting ready rooms are in the venue we were able to have a cool place to wait before the ceremony and regroup. In terms of the actual wedding, everything was perfect. The food was amazing, our gluten free cake was delicious, and no one could tell it was GF. One of the biggest perks of booking at the Essex is that you get assigned a wedding coordinator 4-6 months before your wedding. They walk you through all decisions and helped us stay on track with wedding planning. We were assigned Katarina and she was incredible. She helped with everything from our ceremony order, making sure we stayed on timeline, to helping clean my dress when it got muddy during pictures. She truly went above and beyond. I wasn’t stressed at all and I truly attribute most of that to Katarina and the amazing Essex staff. Everyone made sure we were taken care of. We loved it so much that we are already planning our next visit for our anniversary. They made the Essex feel like home.”
