We had our wedding at Skyview Golf Club, and I truly can’t say enough great things about the entire experience — from the very beginning of the planning process all the way through to the big day. Our coordinator, Jenn, was absolutely amazing. She and her team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Jenn was organized, responsive, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. Her calm and confident presence made planning so much less stressful, and on the day of, she was a total rockstar — making sure every detail was perfect so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. The staff overall was incredible — attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They made us and our guests feel so well taken care of. Speaking of our guests, they are still raving about the food and the views! The cocktail hour spread was unreal, and the dinner was equally impressive. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking — it gave our wedding the perfect backdrop and made for some stunning photos and unforgettable memories. From the moment we saw the back rooms at Arte Cafe, we knew it would be the perfect venue for our wedding. The staff were incredibly open to our wishes and flexible in working with us to make our vision a reality. The skylight and garden rooms looked absolutely beautiful, with the natural light and greenery creating a magical, airy atmosphere, and hanging lights and chandeliers brought elegance once the sun set. The cocktails, passed appetizers, and dinner buffet were all delicious, and the staff - from the servers and bartenders to the manager - were extremely attentive and prompt. Alexis, the venue coordinator, was very helpful in managing communications with the restaurant and coordinating the kitchen. She could be a bit hard to get in touch with at times and was not at the venue the day-of the wedding, but the management staff took over and the event got set up the way we wanted (although this took some prompting / follow up from us) and flowed seamlessly. We ended up with exactly the wedding we had hoped for. We highly recommend Arte Cafe for any couple looking for a stunning, flexible venue that will truly make your special day feel like a dream come true. You might have to put a bit more of your own time into making sure you get what you asked for, but if you are willing to put in some of the extra effort it is well worth it.

Glasshouse Chelsea was the perfect backdrop to our wedding day. Although the weather was perfect, this venue's value is its beauty in every weather and in every light of day or night. We worked with both Chelsee and Nikki and they were both professional and gracious. Their communication style was direct, prompt and transparent. Nikki even found us cocktail napkins at the last minute, helping the bar service. The venue itself, both the 21st floor and 14th floor, was stunning, upscale and practical. At first, I thought that elevator traffic might be an issue, but it was seamless throughout the night. The balcony was the perfect golden-hour-to-sunset photo background and proved to be a nice respite from the dance floor throughout the night. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue.

The Gem Saloon hosted the surprise engagement party I threw for my fiancé and it was the perfect spot. Starting first with my communication with Nicole, who is the events manager, she was incredibly responsive and helpful, as we sent numerous emails back and forth throughout the planning process. Having someone so readily available and quick to answer questions is a huge perk in my book, I feel without that, that’s where you lose a lot of business from the start. Then fast forward to the day off, the Gem allows you to bring outside decorations and desserts (if you wish) and do not charge a cake cutting fee. Being able to put your own decorative touch on your event can be special so it’s nice that Gem allows you that option. In terms of food, I did place a food order with Gem from their platter menu. All of my guests said how excellent the food was - I personally can sway that the beef skewers were awesome, highly recommend! The bartender assigned to my event was also lovely, she managed the bar swiftly (had about 55 guests) all on her own and had a very generous pour. The last person of note was Bernard. He was the on site manager the day of my event and he was a sweetheart. He checked in every so often to see if there was anything he could do or that we needed, incredibly attentive. Then when my fiancé and I were waiting on our Uber to leave the event, he gave us each a free glass of champagne for one last celebratory drink while we waited. Overall, everyone went above and beyond to make this day special and my guests felt that, they couldn’t have more than enough good things to say. One even said, I’ve lived and worked in NYC my whole life, how did I never know about this place? So if you’re on the fence about Gem, don’t hesitate, they’re absolutely great. And as someone who can be a critic of overly positive reviews, I will give the one negative that I have, was just that during the event (and keep in mind I reserved the second floor mezzanine - which was great to feel separated and private from the rest of the bar) that between being higher up and having around 55 people, it did get a bit hot up there, but you can always request that the air be turned down! All in all, 5/5 venue and party

When we stepped into The Sanctuary for the first time we knew we had found a hidden gem. The venue is right on the water but tucked away in Roosevelt Island, creating an amazing combination of city views with a quiet setting. They provided excellent service from start to finish during our planning process. Our guests had an amazing time, food was great and we loved our wedding so much!

Temperance

5.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 75 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,500

A vibrant and unpretentious West Village restaurant and wine bar with the best by-the-glass wine list in the world. Our food menu is Mediterranean-inspired and includes an eclectic assortment of small, but shareable bites. Our space is ideal for parties and receptions, but due to its floor plan, does not lend itself to wedding ceremonies or presentations where sight lines are critical.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Creates a sense of togetherness
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Dance floor not included
As I planned our surprise engagement, I wanted to choose a location to go after that moment to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family that resonated with both of us, so our local wine spot, Temperance, was perfect. Having no idea whether they would even consider a private party I reached out through an email on the website and quickly realized how kind and accommodating the staff was. We were able to rent out the back patio and fully customize the space with our own set up and outside decorations. As a part of the space rental we were allowed an allotment of more than enough food and, more importantly, a customized collection of reds, whites, oranges and rosès. I’d recommend letting the staff pick the specific wines, they’re the experts after all (they did pick one special wine just for us and immediate family based on my specific request, but I like to pretend that was just for me). It was the perfect place to celebrate with around 25 of our closest friends and family. The one downside was they have a hard cutoff of 10pm due to some vocal neighbors but the staff was very upfront throughout the booking process that that was going to be the case, so there were no surprises. Additionally, because of how much we love the aesthetic inside near the bar and the room fronting Carmine Street, we also asked if we could start our engagement photo shoot at Temperance before they opened one night. Once again, we were met with a staff that went out of their way to help us anyway they could and even gave us a glass of wine each to take the edge off of some poses that feel extremely ridiculous in the moment, but turned out to be great pictures. We were as happy with those pictures as we were with both of those experiences at Temperance.

We had a fantastic experience with Ravel. Everyone was exceptionally communicative and accommodating throughout the process and on the day of, especially our coordinator Eman. She stood out as a queen of logistics and made me feel like the planning process was always under control. The bridal assistant, Jade, was fantastic to have nearby on the day of, and Joe, who handled setup, was also a standout. Our guests raved about the food and the view. Overall, the aesthetic of the venue was an incredibly backdrop to our photos, and it really set the tone we were hoping for. Our reception was in the penthouse, and the glittering skyline really made the party feel sophisticated and chic, and unlike any other wedding I’ve been to. We ended up with 150 guests, and the room felt full in a lively way without ever being overcrowded. We had some concerns about the hotel after reading reviews, and those concerns were promptly alleviated. They even upgraded our room to the top suite, which was the perfect size for 9 women to get ready on the day of. Would definitely recommend this venue, especially a reception in the penthouse if it fits your guest count.

If you have visited the Foundry, you know how amazing and beautiful it is, but what you don’t know before you work with them is how responsive and helpful they are once you have committed to them. We had about 130 guests and used the main room for the ceremony, the greenhouse room and space outside for the cocktail hour, the courtyard for the reception dinner, the main room again for the dancing, and the greenhouse room again for the after party (11 to midnight). We also rented the Du Val suite for getting ready, and it was a superb space for the groom’s party and extended family to get ready and hang out and also has the most beautiful garden with city views. Our wedding was absolutely amazing and vindicated our immediate love for the Foundry that we developed the first time we toured it, and the Foundry staff are extremely helpful and kind.
