The Grand Cafe was an amazing venue. They had incredible communication throughout the entire planning process, always responding promptly to our questions and requests. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with the 2nd and 3rd floors providing the perfect space for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Walter, our main point of contact, was incredibly attentive and made sure every detail was taken care of to ensure our special day went off without a hitch. We couldn't have asked for a better venue and highly recommend The Grand Cafe to any couple looking for a stunning, stress-free rehearsal dinner experience.

All of my officiants love working at Barrow House. It's a beautiful, intimate space with terrific food and service (Melissa, the coordinator there is so responsive and easy to work with!) Lovely and relaxed, it's the perfect space for a personalized wedding. The group has four other venues as well with different vibes but the same great attention to detail.

We had a wonderful experience hosting our wedding rehearsal dinner at Bistro Seven Three. Their unique indoor/outdoor space provided a fancy yet private setting for our special event. The staff was very easy to communicate with throughout the planning process, promptly answering our questions and accommodating our menu requests for the rehearsal dinner. On the event day itself, the servers were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making sure everything went perfectly. The open layout was perfect for our 50 guest count, providing an intimate vibe while allowing guests to mingle freely across the indoor and outdoor areas. We appreciated that Bistro Seven Three offers a BYOB policy, allowing us to provide our own specialty drinks to match our dinner menu. Where do I even begin? We got married at the Grain House at the Olde Mill Inn on May 23, 2024, and it was nothing short of perfect. The entire wedding planning process was made easy thanks to everyone at the OldMill Inn and Grain House. They are very responsive, which is crucial when planning a wedding. My grandmother and grandfather had their wedding reception here back in 1957, so I knew I wanted to meet with them to discuss having my wedding there. It was the first and only venue we met with. After going on a tour and discussing the different packages with Lea, I was sold. They take care of your accommodations, catering, bar, cake, tables, chairs, etc. My wedding planning “to-do” list was cut in half! Everyone is so accommodating and they really work with you to make sure your day goes perfectly. So many guests told us how they never experienced wedding food to this level. Everything was DELICIOUS! Better yet, we actually got to eat as the bride and groom. The property itself is gorgeous. John was our Matre d’ and he was the best! He made sure we stayed on time, he ran food from the cocktail hour to me and my husband when we were taking photos, and he coordinated with our vendors so we didn’t have to worry. His efforts did not go unnoticed. Once again I had guests come up to me and tell me how amazing he is. I also had guests reach out after to tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. All of our vendors were fantastic but the Old Mill Inn and Grain House really did the bulk of the work to make it an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself was wonderful to stay in, everything was so clean and the breakfast was delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding day, everything was perfect and I really have the Old Mill Inn and the Grain House to thank for that. I would recommend the Old Mill Inn and the GrainHouse to anyone planning a wedding. It really is the ONLY choice in my opinion. You will not be disappointed.

We used MacMurphys for our after party and they were extremely accommodating and helpful. They had a small cash bar outside in their tent. They allowed us to play our music and they gave us food and extended the hours for the kitchen.

Even before stepping foot inside 87 Sussex it already checked a lot of boxes for us. It's a stylish restaurant with a quality menu, walking distance from our church, and not a wedding factory like so many of the larger venues in the area are. From the moment we starting figuring out logistics with Emily we knew we lucked out. Emily was responsive, communicative, and helpful in accommodating our requests and finding solutions to any issues that arose in the planning process. The day of the wedding was everything we hoped for and more. The weather was perfect, so our guests took full advantage of the space- indoor and out. After dinner the downstairs tables were moved to accommodate a dance floor. It was a fun, intimate party with family and friends. From the cocktail hour through the dinner, the food and drinks were elevated, delicious and bountiful. Three months later our guests are still raving about the food. It's not often that wedding guests compliment the staff as much as the dinner itself, but that was also the case at 87 Sussex. The bartenders, hosts, management, and waitstaff were in a festive mood and incredibly attentive to all of our guests. It all made for a special, once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Our guests and we had a wonderful experience at Le District at our wedding in May 2022. Since our family abroad couldn't make it to the wedding, we were only looking for a space to host a dinner for our 50 or so friends and we thought about Liberty Bistro in Le District since we used to live in the BPC area and had brunch there and we thought the interior design was beautiful and the size of the place fit our needs perfectly. The location is just perfect by the waterfront with an amazing river view and there is also an oval lawn right outside in which we thought about doing the ceremony but unfortunately, we eventually had to do it at Belvedere Plaza 200 feet away since it just so happened that the lawn was closed for maintenance that day. The Liberty Bistro restaurant was able to book out the entire indoor dining space for us without venue fees provided that we meet a spending minimum on food and wine. We had a great experience nailing down the food and drink menu with them - the restaurant had great options and communications were effortless. We were able to bring our own flowers and balloons and our friends DIY'ed the decorations though there wasn't too much to decorate since the space already looked nice and sweet. We also had our own seating plan which involved moving the tables and chairs and Le District was able to help us with it too, apart from the booths which cannot be physically moved. The night went smoothly; we were able to hook up an iPad to the sound system and play our own hand-picked wedding playlist; The guests enjoyed a 3-course prix-fixe menu (with additional vegetarian options); we also did our first dance under the beautiful tree in the center of the restaurant. At the end of the night, when we net out a few hundred under the min. spend, the restaurant was able to throw in a couple of champagne bottles for us to take home. We wish we could share photos of that wonderful evening to show how great it was and we really appreciate Le District for the great food and drinks, service, and communications, and just for being the place where it all happened.

As I planned our surprise engagement, I wanted to choose a location to go after that moment to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family that resonated with both of us, so our local wine spot, Temperance, was perfect. Having no idea whether they would even consider a private party I reached out through an email on the website and quickly realized how kind and accommodating the staff was. We were able to rent out the back patio and fully customize the space with our own set up and outside decorations. As a part of the space rental we were allowed an allotment of more than enough food and, more importantly, a customized collection of reds, whites, oranges and rosès. I’d recommend letting the staff pick the specific wines, they’re the experts after all (they did pick one special wine just for us and immediate family based on my specific request, but I like to pretend that was just for me). It was the perfect place to celebrate with around 25 of our closest friends and family. The one downside was they have a hard cutoff of 10pm due to some vocal neighbors but the staff was very upfront throughout the booking process that that was going to be the case, so there were no surprises. Additionally, because of how much we love the aesthetic inside near the bar and the room fronting Carmine Street, we also asked if we could start our engagement photo shoot at Temperance before they opened one night. Once again, we were met with a staff that went out of their way to help us anyway they could and even gave us a glass of wine each to take the edge off of some poses that feel extremely ridiculous in the moment, but turned out to be great pictures. We were as happy with those pictures as we were with both of those experiences at Temperance.

After not reading my contract carefully enough (READ THE FINE PRINT EVERYONE, DON'T BE LIKE ME), I realized I had booked the private event space for my wedding welcome party on the day of my wedding... and came to this realization as all our guests were already at the restaurant. Skyle appeared like an angel, and within 30 minutes she pulled together the event we had scheduled for the next day, including every appetizer in our contract and even the playlist we had sent. The professionalism and grace of the team and Skyle especially was truly unmatched. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant's food, its atmosphere and its caring and committed staff.

North Square Restaurant at the Washington Square Hotel hosted our engagement party. We chose the downstairs lounge for our daytime cocktail/brunch of about 30 people. We had passed appetizers, some stationary plates, and an open bar. There was plenty of room to walk around and mingle, but also sit down and chat. It was intimate but fun! The service was great. We enjoyed working with the staff and menu planning for our special day. They assisted with florals, balloons, and signs.

Our private social club hosted a social mixer on a Tuesday at The Folly and our guests had a great time! We were a group of about 15 and the beautiful mezzanine area worked perfect for us. Aron, Jon and Ina were a pleasure to work with. Aron was very responsive and timely in communication and Jon and Ina were friendly on site the evening of our event. No reservation fee or food and drink minimums were required which is difficult to come by in beautiful NYC spaces. I look forward to reserving again!

I love photographing weddings at Manhatta restaurant in downtown Manhattan. The team at Manhatta couldn't have been more professional, accommodating and friendly! The last couple I photographed at Manhatta had such a great time, which was evident in the joy and love in the photos. The rooms were infused with light and a beautiful warm glow at sunset. The views of the city were breathtaking - the guests were very impressed. There was ample room for the couple of have a band perform and to also dance the night away with all of their family and friends. I highly recommend this venue!

Skylark was the best possible venue we could have booked for our wedding reception, full stop. Throughout the booking process, they were always highly responsive and professional. They invited us back for drink tastings, for catering option tastings, and even once got my now-wife and her two friends a table on a crowded Saturday night without a reservation. All in all, the venue itself is amazing. We lucked out and got the rooftop for our cocktail hour which we extended an extra 45m 'til sunset and our guests loved taking photos. The main dance area / bar of Skylark is fashionable, chic, and has a certain vibe that meshed perfectly with what my wife and I were looking for. They also have excellent side-rooms for the wedding party to take a moment to decompress in a cool leather-bound corner apartment with its own bar, bathroom, and changing area. The were a few things that really caught my attention as we were touring for the first time: the downstairs entrance is dark, moody, and intentionally a bit industrial which really helps set a New York vibe. Upstairs, I noticed our tour guide thought the music was a touch too loud in one of the side-rooms, so he immediately tweaked the volume down a notch on their iPad music controls. The drinks were excellent (we opted for the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned and the French 75 for our wedding cocktails). We also came back to sample the food options (we went for a cocktail-style dinner with phased courses throughout the night), & they were all incredibly delicious thanks to Skylark's partnership with Abigail Kirsch. Lastly, our coordinator was Phil Montana and he is one of the best parts of our experience. He has exceptional attention to detail, coordination skills, and a warm & empathetic personality. I would also like to recognize the staff who were all wonderful in taking care of us & our guests throughout the night. If you are on the fence, I would highly suggest a tour. When we booked, Skylark did not have a ton of reviews either on Zola or on The Knot, so this review is my way of encouraging any readers to give it a shot -- if you are looking for a fashionable, chic New York wedding experience, The Skylark really cannot be beat. I'm looking forward to returning periodically as regular customers as well!

Robert was a wonderful place to have a reception, with Kristi as a fantastic event manager and Richard as day-of coordinator. They were incredibly helpful and professional, and quick to answer all of our questions as the day came nearer and set up a tasting to help choose our menu. Also of course the space is beautiful, the decorations perfect, the views amazing, and the food absolutely delicious. We got many rave reviews from our guests of the food! They easily had an open bar, live piano, and cocktail hour with activities after dinner. They were very accommodating and helped us with table set up, activities, cake cutting, a screen for photos, and house music. Would strongly recommend it as a place to host any event as there were no hiccups at all. We are very glad we managed to snag it for our wedding!

From the moment we saw the back rooms at Arte Cafe, we knew it would be the perfect venue for our wedding. The staff were incredibly open to our wishes and flexible in working with us to make our vision a reality. The skylight and garden rooms looked absolutely beautiful, with the natural light and greenery creating a magical, airy atmosphere, and hanging lights and chandeliers brought elegance once the sun set. The cocktails, passed appetizers, and dinner buffet were all delicious, and the staff - from the servers and bartenders to the manager - were extremely attentive and prompt. Alexis, the venue coordinator, was very helpful in managing communications with the restaurant and coordinating the kitchen. She could be a bit hard to get in touch with at times and was not at the venue the day-of the wedding, but the management staff took over and the event got set up the way we wanted (although this took some prompting / follow up from us) and flowed seamlessly. We ended up with exactly the wedding we had hoped for. We highly recommend Arte Cafe for any couple looking for a stunning, flexible venue that will truly make your special day feel like a dream come true. You might have to put a bit more of your own time into making sure you get what you asked for, but if you are willing to put in some of the extra effort it is well worth it.

We had the best night of our lives at Peasant celebrating our wedding. We chose this restaurant because we always loved the food and romantic cozy atmosphere. When we had to quickly pivot our wedding plans to a smaller venue (4 weeks from our date!), they were our first call. The team at Peasant sprang into action and delivered the wedding we always dreamed of. We had our ceremony in front of the beautiful brick oven. We barely decorated the space because it's already so gorgeous. Our 70 guests sat at long tables for an incredible family style meal. The space quickly transformed into a dance floor, and a friend of ours DJ'd our favorite music. If you're looking for an intimate venue where you can relax and soak up the pure joy of your wedding day, Peasant has the vibes. Our guests still rave about the rigatoni alla vodka, the espresso martinis, and the kindness of the team months later. We keep going back for dates because we can't possibly get enough, and Peasant will always hold a special place in our hearts.

If it wasn’t for the close proximity to the church, I may have chosen a different venue for our reception. The food and beverage was the biggest expense and the biggest source of confusion. The real disappointment of the F&B was the limited amount of food. The shrimp appetizer was good. However, there was so little, if you didn’t grab some, it was gone. Of the three entrees to choose from, the only one that was any good was the fish and the portion was less than one would reasonably expect for an entree. The chicken was dry and hard, a huge disappointment. The lemon tart dessert was good. The space itself is very nice. Fortunately, it was just the right size for our reception.
