How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors

“We got married at Diety a couple months ago but we actually found Deity two years prior to that when I stumbled upon this venue online. Originally we were not even searching for a venue in new york city but when we found Deity - I thought, this is too good to be true and booked a viewing immediately. We were immediately impressed with not only the gorgeous venue but their all in one package, and the flexibility and kindness we received on our initial viewing made us confident we found the right place. Throughout the wedding process Caio always answered my questions and were so open to all our ideas and remained flexible to help us execute a unique and special day. On the day of the wedding and leading up we had the pleasure of working with Anastasia who helped execute everything for us. The day ran so smoothly and Anastasia did not miss a beat - she not only ran the entire show, she always made sure we were taken care of and she quickly became a close friend we trusted that night. The chef James executed a special all vegan menu for us and both us and our guests raved about the food and we are still being told our delicious the vegan meatballs were! The bartenders and servers were also all amazing, the drinks were amazing and the service was quick. The DJ also killed it and was able to keep everyone on the dance floor all night and also went above and beyond with our song requests for the day. We are so beyond happy we got married at Deity and could have not found a better venue that cared so much, was filled with so much detail and care and had the best employees working for them who made it all possible.”

“Living in AZ a majority of wedding venues are desert landscaped, which is beautiful but not something I was looking for. I also noticed while looking at other venues the background of the ceremony had buildings or houses that were visible in the pictures, again, not something I was looking for. After months of searching I came across Venue at the Grove and absolutely fell in love just by looking at the pictures alone. I set up a tour and let me tell you pictures do not do that place justice. Seeing it in person during the day and at night with all the trees lit up is absolutely beautiful!! The venue is all inclusive which helped tremendously because during that year leading up to the wedding I can honestly stay I was stress free (minus the seating chart lol) Communicating with the staff was great and their timelines getting back to me about all my questions was always right away. Trinity was our coordinator for wedding day and she was truly an angel.”

This venue checked all of our boxes- food and alcohol service, an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour space, and an elegant and open reception space. The staff at this venue, from our day-of coordinator (shout out to Ellen) down to the waitstaff, know exactly what they're doing and how to make a wedding run smoothly. Ellen was a rockstar throughout the entire planning process - communicative, responsive, and professional, and helped the day run seamlessly even when things got a bit chaotic. We even had a wedding attendant that kept us and the bridal party fed and provided drinks throughout transitional times. “My wife and I were married here on April 12th 2026 and it was the best day of our lives. Walden was an absolutely major contributor to the best day of our lives. Oh and by the way, it was the 2nd wedding we planned. Our original plan was having a wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in April, but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel 50 days out and plan a whole new wedding. Walden saved us, especially our wedding planners, Sydni and Katie-Rose. The venue was empathetic to our situation and they were so prepared to take on the challenge and help us get a new wedding planned from scratch. From the start, we felt so comfortable and knew that we were going to pull it off and still throw the wedding of our dreams despite our circumstance. The communication was open, and regular. Walden put us in touch with all sorts of vendors. They allowed my wife and I to consider our options, while keeping us on a tight schedule. All of our vendors expressed positive notes and experiences with Walden. Both spaces, the ceremony area, and the reception/cocktail area are beautiful spaces that give any couple an open canvas to design their dream wedding. That's exactly what we got. Our guests loved the ceremony, they loved the space, they loved the giant bar, they loved the incredible drinks, and they ESPECIALLY loved the food. “The Olio is a beautiful space that is perfect for the couple that wants to customize their wedding and/or reception space. My husband and I were able to have an on-site wedding and reception with approximately 190 guests. The space never felt too cramped. Our vendors were accommodated well. We were able to bring in the caterers that reflected our heritage. Because the Olio is a blank slate, we were able to create a decor plan that was complimented by Olio's uplights. For our ceremony, we had gold lights. For our ceremony, we had blue and purple uplights that worked perfectly with our decor and signified the change between the ceremony and reception. Sarah is an amazing owner. She responds quickly and gives feedback that helps optimize the space. We originally wanted our DJ, bar, and lounge area in different parts of the space. Sarah made suggestions, which she made clear that we understood that they were not mandatory. We took her suggestions and it made the space work perfectly. Sarah has an eye for detail, but also a skill for working with people. Her staff were equally as wonderful. Becca, Tiesha, and Ivy made our rehearsal and wedding day run smoothly. “I cannot say enough about how AMAZING The Boylston Rooms was for my wedding!!! If you are looking for the perfect New England wedding in an old industrial building then THIS is the place for you. The best part is it’s a dedicated wedding venue. It is their entire job to throw the best weddings ever. They have a room FULL of decorations to choose from. They provide tableware, different colored table cloths and napkins, faux greenery and candles, drapery, arbors, card boxes, picture frames, etc. There are dedicated bridal and grooms suites with a lock code to keep your items safe. Fun settings around the building for photo sessions. Two beautiful rooms for the ceremony and reception. A beautiful patio for cocktail hour as long as weather permits. “Having our wedding at The Wheeler House made for such an amazing and stress-free day. We loved that The Wheeler House included a caterer, DJ, and cake—it truly felt like a one-stop shop. Having so many major vendors already included made the planning process much easier and far less overwhelming. They also provide a list of preferred vendors for photography, florals, makeup, and transportation, which made selecting the remaining vendors incredibly easy. I booked one of their preferred floral vendors, and it was such a great experience since they already knew the space, the layout, and what would look best for the overall design. We also booked one of their preferred transportation vendors, which was just as convenient because they were familiar with the property and logistics, making everything run effortlessly. The entire staff at The Wheeler House was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and consistently positive from the moment we booked through our wedding day. Having one location for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception kept the day flowing beautifully. We also loved having both indoor and outdoor options. We had a winter wedding, and while the southern weather allowed us to be outside, knowing we had a stunning indoor backup option gave us so much peace of mind during planning in case of rain or colder temperatures. We also booked The Wheeler House cottages for our wedding weekend, which made getting ready and overnight accommodations extremely convenient. Having our family and bridal party together all weekend made the experience even more special. While The Wheeler House may initially seem more expensive, we absolutely got our money’s worth. Because so much is included, we had fewer vendors to coordinate on our own, which saved us time, stress, and additional costs. If you’re looking for a beautiful venue in North Georgia that offers incredible value and includes so many essentials, I highly recommend The Wheeler House.”

“My husband and I had our wedding here in September and we were blown away by the entire experience. All of our guests – from NYC locals to out-of-towners – commented on how magical the venue and the setting were. Alfonso, Kat and Amelia were thoughtful, attentive and SO thorough. They are total pros, and also just lovely people. In addition to all of the beautiful decor, food and ambiance, I have included a photo of Alfonso hand delivering a cocktail to me because he wanted to ensure I enjoyed myself while chatting with the guests. Not pictured: when he brought plates of food to my husband and I to make sure we got to eat! Cannot recommend it more highly!”

“Green Acres Event center was absolutely gorgeous! It caught our eyes online and we immediately wanted to see it in person! We went and toured, were greeted by friendly staff and showed around the property! From the beauty of the barn on the outside the the gorgeous detailing and sparkle from the chandeliers on the inside all the way to the stunning bridal suite, we knew when we walked through the doors this was our wedding venue! Robyn was absolutely amazing to work with from any questions I had while planning all the way through the day of. She made the day seem seamless and even helped me stay calm in the chaos! I would choose this venue over and over again! Our guests loved it and had wonderful time! The only complaint we heard is that they wished there was a bathroom on the second floor where the dinner and dancing was but other than that we had no complaints! Everyone should consider using this venue!”

The wood finishes and landscaping are the perfect backdrop to any wedding, which allows you to decorate as much or as little as you want. We worked with Rachel in the last 3 months before the big day and could not have asked for a better day of coordinator. She made us feel so calm and heard throughout the process. “We had a fabulous wedding reception at the Donauschwaben German Cultural Center (Lenau Park). Their entire staff—from their awesome coordinator Christine to their banquet captain and bar staff—was so kind, so professional, and most importantly made our guests feel welcome and taken care of. Christine came to every meeting organized and prepared. She understands the details as well as the emotions that go into planning a wedding and was a great part of our support system. She is fair and reasonable—even helped us make a German Hall a little more “Italian” for the bride. We could not have asked for a better partner! As for the venue itself, it was the perfect place to host 300 of our closest friends and family. The space was beautiful, bright and happy. Our guests were comfortably seated at 32 round tables of 8 to 10. The team made all of our décor visions come to life. The outdoor patio was welcoming and comfortable for guests as well. The dance floor is huge! Perfect for an Italian tarantella. I would also say the room is set up well acoustically—with 300 people in the room and music playing, you could still hear the other people at your table. The entryway was also perfect for our receiving line. We were happy to see that guests could enjoy their time—whether they wanted to dance the night away, sit and chat, or just enjoy the night air with family. The food was excellent—seriously excellent. We got so many compliments after the wedding! They have their buffet line down to a science with all of our guests being served in a reasonable amount of time. They also did a great job of meeting the needs of our gluten- and dairy-free guests. That is so hard to do when you are feeding so many people, and even these guests said they enjoyed their meals. Finally, the money we spent on this wedding reception was well worth the value. The food and beverage packages are incredibly fair for the quality and the amount of food your guests will be served. We were also able to add appetizers and some special add-ons at a reasonable rate. The linens are provided by a separate vendor, but even those costs were not too bad, and everything looked beautiful when it was decorated! While there are certain rules the venue must follow and sometimes we needed to negotiate the details, Christine was highly transparent and upfront with us, and always worked with us to find the right solution for our day. After hosting our wedding here, we would absolutely do it again with this space and this team. When it comes to the Donauschwaben, we strongly recommend them for your wedding reception and cannot say enough good things about their level of service!”

“If I could give 10 stars I would! I cannot say enough good things about the Inn at Leola Village! From the moment we booked them I felt supported and cared for. Stephanie was our coordinator and made sure every detail was perfect. She answered all my questions along the way (which was a lot haha). The whole team at Leola was kind, professional, communicated clearly and detail oriented. Also, the food was absolutely amazing, our family and friends raved about it! It was the best wedding food we ever had, it was like high-end restaurant quality food!! Stephanie and her team worked with my other vendors like DJ, and photographer to ensure everything ran smoothly, which it did! The florist at Leola is also great! Everything they did was beautiful and exactly what I described to them. Every detail was literally perfect on my wedding day and I couldn't be more thankful! I loved that our guests could book a room at the Inn so no one had to drive after the reception. The Inn at Leola Village definitely stands out as a top notch wedding venue, I highly recommend them!! “Every step of the way this team took such good care of us as a couple and guided us in the direction of the BEST people to work with. We had the pleasure of planning a majority of the wedding with Allie - who let me tell you, is INCREDIBLE. She is the absolute sweetest and has such an eye for detail (while always keeping budget in mind), she made the whole planning experience so easy and fun! As for day of - we could not have been more taken care. Mary was our day of coordinator and took care of EVERYTHING. She always was checking in with me, calming me down, offering food or drinks to keep me comfortable - it felt like another friend there to make sure nothing went wrong. Not to mention - she bustled my dress for me!!! Eddy was a HUGE part of our day when it came to food - he made sure we ate everything and even delivered food directly to us at times!! The food was out of this world incredible & they were able to accommodate to my Celiac and almost everything was made gluten free (and allergy friendly for certain guests). The bartenders were kind enough to learn guests names and drinks and treated everyone like family. Our Farm sits on 54-Acres in Bucks County. Our Seed Barn was originally built back in the 1820's. Our Seed Barn was restored in the Summer of 2016 & seats 160-200 people. Attached to the back of the Seed Barn is a beautiful deck that overlooks the ceremony site. In the lower level of the Seed Barn is our Groom’s Suite! Here you will find a pool table, TV, lounge seating area & more. In 2020 we built our Harvest Barn attached to the Seed Barn through a breezeway. This is home for our commercial kitchen, on-site bathrooms, smaller event space and bridal suite. Lastly, we have a Farm-to-Table bakery onsite for your dessert table & custom wedding cake. The Farm is truly a wonderful place to host your big day! Our goal is to work with each couple to carry out their vision for the day! What is great about The Farm is it truly can be anything you would like it to be, from a backyard barbecue to a beautiful sit down farm-to-table dinner! We would love to serve you on your Wedding Day.

Nazareth Hall is known throughout the region as a banquet and wedding facility, but it’s the rich history and lush setting that draws people here. Built in 1927 as an all-boy Catholic boarding school. It eventually evolved into a renowned military school for boys. Throughout its history the school stayed true to its Catholic roots and the nuns who served and taught here. Operating until 1982 the stories written within its walls are still told today. Re-emerging with a new mission and purpose in April of 1991, Nazareth Hall was reborn. It is in this picturesque place, reminiscent of castles of old, that brides come to be married and celebrate with family and friends in grand ballrooms. The classrooms and meeting spaces offer the perfect vintage background for business training sessions, and the manicured lawns have been host to numerous parties and festivities.
