I was born into this business. I began working with roses and flowers as a young girl in Ecuador. I grew up watching them grow on the hillsides, and sold in the markets. My grandfather Herman Kanlund, was one of the first florists in San Diego to be a part of FTD in 1936. He started his floral business on ten acres of roses and tulips in Kearny Mesa, SD.
