Poplar Hill is a 100 acre farm that was built in 1790. The home is surrounded by mature landscape with English boxwoods and crepe myrtles that are 100 plus years old. Every couple and family that comes to Poplar Hill tell us that our pictures do not do it justice! We take pride in the care of the house and grounds and cherish the opportunity to share it with others!

Nestled in the peaceful, rolling farmlands of Charles City, Open Air The Glebe is only 30 minutes from Richmond or Williamsburg. This 10 acre farm features a historic home, scenic tree-lined drive, multiple barns, and a large tented patio. You can have your rehearsal dinner in the Tractor Pavilion, host your wedding reception under our 60'x90' tent, continue celebrating with an after-party--or whatever you like for a day, or for a long weekend. Our philosophy is that a celebration should reflect the vision, the culture, the traditions of each couple, therefore we allow you to hire the vendors that you choose (the day should not reflect our tastes and that of our "preferred list" of vendors/friends). The Hotel John Marshall opened in 1929 as the largest hotel in Virginia. Its rooms welcomed Elizabeth Taylor, Mary Tyler Moore, and Elvis Presley along with political figures such as Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter. After sitting vacant for over 20 years (save a few attempts to open) the building recently underwent an $80 Million renovation, spanning two years of construction to strip it back to the bones and restore it to its original 1920's grandeur.
