When we started wedding planning, we knew finding a “one stop shop” sort of venue was going to be our best bet. We toured a couple venues from another well known company and some Wedgewood properties, and ultimately decided that Wedgwood Aliso Viejo best fit our needs. From our first meeting all the way to the day of (16 months later), we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Breanna and Sierra were exceptional planners and their meetings with us leading up to the wedding really made us feel like we didn't have anything to worry about. I’m a very type-A person and I never felt like I was asking for too much. We had all of our questions answered and had pleasant interactions with Kimberlyn as well. On the day of, Sierra, Lily and DJ Rachel were extremely attentive, communicative and overall on top of everything. I appreciate that we were able to call, text and email any questions we had at any time and heard back from the Wedgewood team in a very timely manner. Of all of our wedding week events, we had the least concerns about the wedding day and everything ran smoothly and to our liking. We have been receiving tons of compliments about how the staff were running a tight ship and that we didn't have to worry about anything because it all was taken care of. I am very big on customer service and we have not heard a single negative comment from any of our guests. The only hiccups with our wedding were issues with outside vendors that the Wedgewood team helped us address. The vibes were great, the food was amazing, we even had good compliments about the bartender being very cool and making amazing drinks. We really could not have imagined our special day any better than it turned out and we are so incredibly grateful to all of the Wedgewood Aliso Viejo for making it all happen!

Definitely check out David L Baker for your reception if you're ballin' on a budget. They were able to fit our budget well within reason and had all the amenities that my, now, wife was looking for. They were great at communicating with us throughout and helped us plan this stressful, but joyous(!) time. Amber gave us the first walkthrough and Julia helped us in more detail afterwards. Julia did a great job coordinating with our wedding coordinator. IF anything terrible happened during the wedding... I definitely never found out! So good job to both of them I guess! Logistically, there's plenty of parking, plenty of wiggle room, multiple bathrooms, bar... What more does a reception need? Definitely give them a look!

We went with all rounds and the natural wood was beautiful with our theme. The bride and groom suites were perfect to get ready in. We each had 6 people in our bridal party - with hair and makeup people in the room any more would feel crowded. My favorite was the green wall, it creates the perfect background for photos. The Vineyards was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding day! The entire team (Shadi, Jimmy, Soroor, Deena) was helpful from the moment we toured the Vineyards to the moment we left on our wedding day. The venue is beautiful, lush, and meticulously decorated. We chose to have our ceremony at the garden site and our reception in the ballroom. Our guests loved the venue and kept raving about the food. We had a very specific music-themed wedding, where we wanted to incorporate little touches of our story, and the venue and team were able to help us execute our vision seamlessly! They were very accommodating when we wanted to enter the venue early for hair and makeup and helped us with our timeline, which made everything on the day-of go smoothly. If we had to do our big day again, we would 100% choose the Vineyards every time! Thank you to the entire team, we are eternally grateful for your support.

I am truly not even sure where to start with how magnificent Newhall Mansion was as a wedding venue. The house itself is breathtaking and truly showstopping -- my husband and I drove away from our first venue tour knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was the place we were meant to be married. Every inch of the house is absolutely stunning. One of the hardest decisions we had to make was which backdrop to use for our ceremony, because there were no bad options! Our photographers had a multitude of options for backdrops and establishing shots for our wedding video. It gave every inch of California chic, but also eccentric old money, and every single touch was intentional and well thought out. Our menu was thoughtfully designed by Chef Giancarlo, and four months later my mother is still lamenting the fact that she did not bring home leftovers because the filet that we chose to serve was so spectacular. We LOVED the option for family style dining as it allowed for all of the best parts of a buffet (self-serve, dietary restrictions already accommodated, opportunity for seconds) with the elegance of a plated meal. Crystal, the venue manager, was thoughtful, kind, patient, considerate, and timely in all of her communication leading up to the wedding, and was on-site for the entire weekend. We LOVED having the chance to invite some of our closest friends and family to stay at the house with us the night before and the night of the wedding. Some of my most cherished memories from the weekend are from the night before and the morning after, where we were surrounded by the people who love us. It was also absolutely wonderful to be able to arrive a day early to get set up, and then have an extra morning to get everything packed up and ready to take home. And on the actual day of the event, the event staff were truly amazing. Under the leadership of Crystal, Giancarlo, and Rick, and the guidance of our INCREDIBLE day-of coordinators Melissa and Sandy (from Tricia Dahlgren Events, who I also highly recommend), the event ran without a single hitch. I never, ever thought that, as a type-A bride with a background in event planning, I would be able to put my phone down, unplug, and float through my day -- but I could!! I truly cannot say enough about Newhall Mansion. They set the perfect backdrop for my dream wedding, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is planning a unique, slightly quirky, but classy and chic wedding.

I recently attended an all-white wedding organized by Essentialyfe, and it was truly a breathtaking experience from start to finish. The all-white decor was nothing short of stunning, with every detail meticulously designed to create an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. The cocktail hour was a highlight, with a wide selection of creative, expertly crafted drinks and beautifully presented hors d'oeuvres. Guests mingled on the terrace, enjoying the sunset while live music played in the background, creating an unforgettable ambiance. Essentialyfe made the entire experience seamless. Their staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. From setting up the venue to making sure guests were well taken care of, the team was on top of every detail. The company was an absolute delight to work with—professional, organized, and responsive. We were looking for a unique venue for our wedding. We knew we wanted it to be outdoors and a place for both a reception and the ceremony so that our guests wouldn't have to travel between the two. The Enchanted Manor was the first place we looked at and we both felt that it was the right fit. Georgia has created a little oasis in her back yard that we felt fit our vibe - lowkey, but classy. The playhouse was a great place that the kids could escape to to watch TV while their parents enjoyed the party. We had booked originally for approximately 60 guests, however once all the pieces fell into place we were closer to 50. Unfortunately our guest count dropped below 50 just after our window to let Georgia know, but she was kind enough to offer us the price difference. We applied that balance towards renting some heaters and lighting the fire pits as the weather got colder than anticipated, as well as to handling the trash. (Pay attention to the contract, you are responsible for removing trash or there is a fee.) I appreciated her communication and patience walking me through things - planning a wedding myself was a task that was draining on me! One thing I didn’t realize before booking was that there is space for a kitchen, but it needs to be built out for your event, so make sure you consider that into any costs. Georgia was really helpful and responsive to all of our questions (we had so many) and anything that we couldn’t do she had very reasonable reasons. (For example, at one point I thought I’d like confetti, but she explained why she doesn’t allow that on her property which made total sense!) The weeks before I became worried that there wasn’t enough decor, so we bought some items that we ended up returning. Once the rentals arrived, combined with the lighting, everything was beautiful as it was. We’ve started to see some photos and everything looked beautiful; it was a romantic but relaxed vibe which was just what we wanted. I worried it wouldn’t feel like a wedding, but it did. Georgia was a gracious host, our guests enjoyed her home (we made sure to tell them that they could rent it as well for an overnight getaway) and we can’t wait to start reading her book. We stayed in touch after the wedding and I hope we meet again in the future for events or just a dinner to hear of her adventures! PS - her cats were big hits all around, too!

The 1909 stood out among the 15 venues we considered, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. From the start, we were captivated by the stunning ceremony deck, and during our in-person visit, the venue's unique charm won us over completely. It perfectly embodies the romantic, woodsy vibe we were searching for, with lush greenery that feels worlds away from the busy LA metro area, yet still conveniently close to it—especially for those of us familiar with the Valley. Nestled in the heart of Topanga Canyon, The 1909 offers a serene escape from city life. The venue provides a variety of rental options that seamlessly complement the natural setting, and everything is meticulously maintained. What really impressed us was the rental package—it includes access to the entire event space, from the beautiful ceremony deck and reception lawn to the indoor dance floor and bridal suite. As a first-time wedding planner, I also appreciated The 1909’s transparency with their pricing, which made the planning process much smoother. A special shoutout goes to Cristina, the venue manager. She patiently answered all of our detailed questions and coordinated multiple walkthroughs with us. Her support was instrumental in making our wedding a success, and I can’t thank her enough. Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Topanga, CA
  • Up to 299 guests

After being blacklisted during the McCarthy Era, Will Geer & his wife, fellow actress, Herta Ware, established Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, California providing a safe haven for other blacklisted artists such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. Supported by his botany background, the theatre thrived alongside a garden, sustaining the family. Geer's resurgence came with playing Grandpa Zebulon "Zeb" Walton in "The Waltons," leading to the formation of a non-profit theatre. Theatricum evolved into a professional repertory company, offering Shakespeare performances and concerts. Ellen Geer now leads the theatre, known internationally for its Shakespearean interpretations. With year-round classes, concerts, and outreach programs, Theatricum aims to nurture theatre enthusiasts in the Greater Los Angeles Metro area, carrying on Geer's legacy.

This is a truly special place run by special people. From beginning to end, they were so helpful, willing to answer all my questions and work with me and my vendors to create a magical day. We got married on the stage, which was so gorgeous, and had our reception in the garden. Our guests absolutely gushed about how unique and meaningful everything was (we're both actors and Shakespeare nerds!). The pictures are beautiful - we got married in mid-May and the whole venue was bursting with flowers! Despite being outdoors, there weren't as many bugs as you'd think, and the temperature was perfect. I worried about it being too dark after sunset, but between the string lights and dance floor lights, that was no problem. Things to keep in mind - it's very DIY, so you'll need to bring everything in, including linens, catering, dinnerware, glassware, etc. Music has to stop at 10pm (local noise ordinance) and everyone must be out by 11, which was perfect for us since we're not late night partiers. Tell your guests to bring a jacket since it gets a little chilly at night (we rented propane heaters). Cell phone service can be sketchy but there is wi-fi on property. The bathrooms aren't hotel fancy, but perfectly fine and clean. There are plenty of outlets at useful places. I'm so glad I got married here - it was a perfect day and I couldn't imagine my wedding anywhere else!

The Garland Hotel in Studio City is truly a hidden gem that we were so thankful to have found for our wedding. Being family-owned and operated, you can feel the warmth and care from every staff member—they’re welcoming, kind, and genuinely happy to be there. Unlike a corporate chain, this place is full of character and charm. From the start, they went above and beyond to ensure our day was absolutely perfect. The in-house catering, done by the chef from their restaurant, The Front Yard, was simply amazing. We highly recommend adding the short rib to your menu—it was a huge hit with all of our guests! The highlight for us was the ceremony area in the garden. It’s a magical spot, and our guests felt like they had been transported out of Los Angeles for the day. It’s shaded and serene, providing an intimate atmosphere that made our wedding incredibly special. We got married on August 24th, 2024, and we were initially nervous about the weather and heat. We started the ceremony at 6 PM, and luckily, the ceremony area is nicely shaded by the trees, which kept everyone comfortable. We also provided program fans for guests, just in case. By 7 PM, as we moved to the outdoor area for cocktails, the sun was already moving away, making it quite pleasant. By 8 PM, we transitioned to the ballroom for the rest of the evening, and everything flowed seamlessly. The next day, we hosted a brunch at The Front Yard for our guests who stayed at the hotel. Their private room in the back is beautiful, with a perfect vibe for a relaxed and celebratory brunch. The food was amazing, as always, and the service was excellent. Working with both Jasmine on the planning & logistics side and Esmeralda from the sales team were wonderful. They were supportive every step of the way, and we genuinely felt like the hotel was our home for the weekend. The Garland is reasonably priced, especially compared to other hotels in Los Angeles, and delivers a much more personalized and memorable experience. We’re locals in LA, but we already plan to return for staycations. The Garland made our wedding weekend unforgettable, and we can’t wait to be back!

Rancho de las palmas is what dreams are made of! I loved the fact that only one event happens at a time so we didn’t have to share the space with anyone else. From the beautiful bridal suite to the option for a tree house-like play area for the kids with the option to hire babysitters, the venue offers it all. As a bonus they even offer an option for a pay-it-forward room that offers an incredible amount of decor items to choose from and all the little details that can be stressful to put together or sometimes can be forgotten about like card holders or signage options. Getting married in southern california can be expensive but I found that their prices were incredibly reasonable in comparison to other places. What I was most impressed with were the professionalism and attentiveness of the coordinators Laura and Jenn. Laura was always there to answer questions and was right there from beginning to end to make sure that our day was perfect. When we had an issue with our cake delivery on the day of, they went above and beyond to take care of the problem while making sure everything ran smoothly and stress-free. Words cannot truly describe what an amazing experience our wedding was and Laura and Jenn were the ones that made it all possible. Thank you both! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to book a venue!
