“From the moment we toured the venue to the whole wedding process, Fallbrook Estate/Wedgewood Weddings nailed it. It was the second venue we toured and immediately my husband fell in love. The area is a golf course in the morning and at night, it becomes the wedding venue of your dreams. The fountain at the front was gorgeous, the ceremony area was dreamy and the lake area turned out to be a beautiful hang out spot for cocktail hour. The reception hall was very spacious and could fit a good number of guests. My description of the venue does not bring it justice; one should really see it for themselves! Their whole team was organized and incredible all around. We were greeted by their staff of the day -Katie- with warmth and smiles. Upon booking, we received access to their planning portal and even an actual binder with check lists to ensure we were on track with the timeline. Every time we had our in-person and phone meetings, everything was made clear and laid out for us. Expectations, decor, timeline, were straightforward; even the tasks they could and could not do, the items that were and were not included in the package. It really was a matter of my husband and I’s decisions and how our vision could come to life. Lauren and Sierra were great with ensuring we made informed decisions about how we wanted our day to be. They were patient and sat with us through the whole process. I truly appreciated the organization of the whole team with the planning process. We also met our day coordinator, Stephanie, during our last meeting, and she energetically led the rehearsal the day before the wedding. For the day of the wedding, it sure went by very fast and overall, everyone including us had a wonderful time. The communication between the staff and vendors really came through as they took care of the decor and timeline part of the wedding day. Stephanie was amazing all around! She ensured the decor was as how we discussed it, helped calm the nerves, checked in on the wedding party for the ceremony and prior to the grand entrance, handed us drinks and appetizers right after the ceremony so we did not miss the cocktail foods and drinks. I loved having Stephanie as our wedding day coordinator! She informed us when her shift ended and introduced us to our banquet captain Emily. Emily also checked in on us and helped me when we had a hiccup with the music and the photobooth. She also helped take down the decor and items when our wedding ended early. I’d also like to give my thanks to the kitchen staff, servers, headchef etc. for making such delicious food! We went around the table during the wedding and our guests raved about everything, from the appetizers to the salads and the actual dinner meals. Even a week after the wedding, we still talk about how delicious the food was. Lastly- I would like to mention that there are additional costs in addition to the package. There is an additional fee for administrative services, which is understandable given the communication their staff was able to provide via call, email, and text messages. Gratuities are also not included, so it is something for couples to keep in mind. However, everything was communicated ahead of it. Overall, my husband and I were happy with how the wedding turned out. Wedgewood at Fallbrook Estate made this planning seamless and made our wedding day memorable for us and our family and friends!”

Oakwood Creek Celebrations
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Julian, CA
  • Up to 100 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor
  • Starts at $3,400

Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. This beautiful venue sits atop a picturesque knoll overlooking the historic town of Julian. Sherry Horton, owner of Oakwood Creek Celebrations, offers signature style that everyone—no matter their affair—will find "oh so easy". Growing up in rural Ohio, Sherry brings the style of country that is reminiscent of simpler gracious time, learning from her grandmother Emma Barrett of all things romantically beautiful. Sherry’s work has been featured in Country Living Magazine, Where Women Create, and San Diego Magazine.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Creates a sense of togetherness
  • Surrounded by nature

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Requires outside catering services
  • No on-site guest accommodations
Awarded Best of Zola
“This place was our one and only stop when looking for venues because the moment we saw it and met the owner Sherry we knew it was the place. Not only is it this gorgeous hidden gem, but it has a wonderful owner who makes you feel like your day is the most important day of her life as well. Our wedding went seamless and perfect and we’re still hearing our guests go on and on about how breathtaking the venue was. Sherry was amazing and always super fast to answer no matter the time or day. She was so accommodating and always made every visit fun. September was the perfect time, all the greenery was so lush! This is the kind of venue where for decor, LESS IS MORE. This place IS THE DECOR. Highly recommend this place!!”

County of San Diego: Department of Parks and Recreation

Lakeside, CA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor

Saying ‘I do’? Choose your ceremony and reception to be held inside the Lakeside Community Center, or take advantage of the natural beauty and host your special day in the outdoors. Lindo Lake is one of San Diego's few natural lakes that provide a scenic backdrop for ceremonies and receptions.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Lush gardens
  • Provides lighting and sound

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No free parking
  • Not wheelchair accessible
“Gorgeous and peaceful location, perfect for a celebration of any kind. I booked Meyer Hall at the Lakeside Community Center for an engagement party in March 2026 for 95 guests (max capacity is 250). They also offer smaller rooms for groups of 30 to 90. I loved the spacious layout of Meyer Hall, which is conveniently adjacent to the kitchen. You can decorate however you like, provided you don't attach anything to the walls/ceiling or use open flames, confetti, or rice. We used tablecloths, flowers, LED votives, and small candies, which elevated the space to a classy, elegant, wedding-like feel. There is also plenty of free parking just a short walk from the hall, making it easy to navigate for guests in heels or those using strollers and wheelchairs. The Logistics: The 4-hour rental (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM) automatically included two additional hours for setup and one hour for breakdown. I added tables, chairs, a stage, and multimedia equipment to my reservation. A security guard was required, along with a catering fee and a cleaning deposit. I did not rent the kitchen, as our caterers handled everything on the patio. The total came to 1,510, which I found very reasonable and affordable. I was also pleased to see the security deposit returned to my credit card less than a week later. My main contact, Michelle, was incredibly kind and professional throughout the entire planning process. Pro-Tips for Planning: Insurance: You’ll need one-day event insurance (I used Markel for 75). Note that providing alcohol requires additional coverage and potentially an extra security guard. The Tour: You must tour the space with a staff member at least 45 days before your event and prior to booking. Since this is a busy community center, tours are only offered on very specific days/times. Breakdown: The rental requires you to clear, wipe, and stack all furniture, take trash to the dumpster, and sweep/mop. This wasn't a problem for us, but it’s an important detail if you’re planning a formal wedding! The Highlights: My favorite feature was the view of the beautiful lake and local birds. The A/C worked perfectly, which was a huge relief during a recent heat wave. Our dessert vendor, Cabetos Pops, served guests on the patio starting at 6:30 PM. This coincided perfectly with "golden hour," making for a truly magical moment. While the lakefront is open to the public, our area still felt private and secluded. We also had Taquizas José cater delicious tacos on the patio; our guests raved about the food! (I highly recommend checking out their Yelp pages for my full 5-star reviews). Minor Hiccup: The only subpar aspect was the multimedia setup. The Bluetooth speakers didn’t work for about half the party. I had scheduled a time two weeks prior to test the equipment, and the battery was dead even then. My fiancé and I had curated a thoughtful playlist, so it was disappointing the device wasn't charged. To their credit, the staff worked hard to resolve it and ensured it functioned once charged. My suggestion: Kindly and clearly remind the staff to charge the speakers a few days before your event. All in all, I really enjoyed hosting our friends and family here and would not hesitate to book again. They are undergoing some construction this year which may affect lake views, so just check with the staff before booking.”

“Lavender & Olive San Diego was the perfect fit for our wedding day. The space is gorgeous and has plenty of room for all our (200) guests, plus vendors, which gave us the freedom to set up exactly how we wanted. We loved being able to bring our own vendors, and the pricing was fair and transparent. When unexpected rain rolled in, the owner stepped up and rented a canopy for us without hesitation—it completely saved our reception. Communication was quick and straightforward through email and calls whenever we needed to touch base. The L&O staff is amazing! They truly cared about making our wedding beautiful and memorable. While the owner has a strong personality and her messages could be softer, her actions spoke louder than her words, and we're grateful for how much she cared about making our day special.”

Designed for Connection, Not Just Celebration Traditional venues are often built around tight timelines—set hours, quick transitions, and a sense that everything must fit neatly into a single day. At Poway Equestrian Center, we’ve chosen a different approach. Our weddings are intentionally designed as multi-day, hosted ranch experiences. This means you’re not rushing from moment to moment. Instead, you’re given the time and space to settle in, connect with your guests, and fully enjoy each part of your celebration. Whether it’s a relaxed welcome gathering, a quiet morning getting ready, or a farewell brunch the next day, every moment feels more intentional when it isn’t compressed. We believe your wedding should feel like something you lived, not something that flew by.

The setting is peaceful and secluded — you can hear nothing but the birds and the soft sounds of the horses. The atmosphere felt so calming and intentional, creating a space where everyone could slow down and be present. It was a beautiful place to celebrate something meaningful, surrounded by nature and quiet charm.”

Mt. Woodson Castle by Wedgewood Weddings
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Ramona, CA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $12,000

Perched in the rolling hills of Ramona, California, Mt. Woodson Castle is one of Southern California's most extraordinary wedding destinations, where old-world grandeur meets the untamed beauty of the San Diego backcountry. Built as a private dream home by dress designer Amy Strong, construction began in 1909 and culminated in 1920 as a stunning embodiment of the American Craftsman Movement. Amy personally selected stones from the slopes of Mt. Woodson, building with eucalyptus, oak, and redwood harvested on-site. No chalk lines were used, leaving uneven floors and rooflines that give the castle its irreplaceable soul. The 12,000-square-foot, 27-room masterpiece features 4-foot-thick walls, four fireplaces, and an eclectic identity blending European, Medieval, Mesoamerican, Mediterranean, and East Asian influences, crowned by a working windmill. Just 40 minutes from downtown San Diego — unlike anywhere else in Southern California.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Accommodates more than 200 guests
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Dance floor not included
  • Lighting and sound are not included
“We had our wedding here on June 6th and it was absolutely everything we hoped for and more :) What made Mt. Woodson perfect for us: - highly professional and friendly staff from our first tour to the day and communication afterwards, special shout-out to our day-of coordinator Jessica and Derek & Kelsey who worked with us while planning - Stunning outdoor and indoor venue, so you can have the ceremony & dinner outside and then switch inside for the party and dessert. Bonus: in the worst case of bad weather you still have a fantastic place for your wedding instead of a back-up tent solution. And you can go until 11pm while other venues limit the party to 10pm. - Amy's Closet is filled with items to use free of charge and they allow DIY flowers/decor which was important to me since I am artistic and wanted to give my wedding a personal touch. Only thing you have to do is assign a person resposible for set-up & take down but our day-of coordinator was so sweet to lend a hand too. - Food was fantastic! We opted for 2 carving stations & buffet style dinner but they also offered plated menus for our guests with dietary restrictions. Our guests were complimenting the food and many went back for seconds and vegan & vegetarian guests were happy with their plates too. Plus: you get to take home the delicous left-overs- they even packed a beautiful to-go plate separately for the bride & groom. - Plenty of parking with option to leave the car over night. Just beware that Ramona is a bit remote so it is not quite as easy to catch a ride, so preordering transportation makes sense. There is some stairs and uneven paths but myself as a bride and all other guests in heels were getting around just fine and also our older guests had no complaints. They were also very accomodating of my brother who is in a wheel chair and they had bathrooms that were accessible for him. Thank you again to the whole Mt.Woodson staff for the BEST experience ever!”

“We loved having our wedding reception at the museum! It was a unique venue, bright, and spacious. It’s an experience we (and our guests) still talk about almost 6 years later. It was a stress free wedding as Jenny (venue coordinator) was so easy to work with and very helpful in coordinating with all of our vendors and day of wedding coordinator. The museum has an approved list of vendors, and made suggestions that made the night even more special (like keeping the dinosaur skeleton out during the reception!) The cocktail hour was held on the second level, and the guests were able to walk through the exhibits. The reception was on the first level which was spacious.”

“We held our wedding at Luce Loft on 10/25, and we loved it! Our contact was initially Emilee, but she was phased out for Julia midway through our planning. Julia jumped in feet first, and she was so kind and efficient. She was also great at communicating with my coordinators. The venue is beautiful and clean, and fit my vision perfectly. I would recommend it to any bride, but just caution that they ensure to meet the day-of lead for the venue and seek them out if they don't automatically introduce themselves. We had a couple issues crop up day of that were disappointing, but truly just the fault of the nameless lead (truly, never even knew their name bc I couldn't find them and had no idea what they looked like). The issues were not dealbreakers, just funky little moments that could have been avoided. I brought it up Julia and Ray afterwards and their response was so thoughtful and to the point that I have zero qualms about telling people they should absolutely host their wedding at Luce! You will not be disappointed with the venue or the team, just make sure you meet your day-of team ASAP.”

Venue considerations

“Planning our wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum was made so much easier thanks to Marina, the events coordinator, who kept us organized at every step with her sharp eye for detail. The gardens themselves are stunning and required almost no additional decorations, which saved us time and money during the planning process. We appreciated that JFGM provides a list of pre-vetted vendors to work with, which took the guesswork out of finding a reliable caterer, coordinator, photographer and rental companies. It's worth noting that the earliest ceremony time available is 5:30 PM, and the garden rental doesn't include tables, chairs, or food service, so you'll need to coordinate with outside vendors for those elements. Overall, Marina made the whole experience feel smooth and stress-free, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful backdrop for our celebration.”
