Stargazed Weddings and Events

5.0

Basalt, CO
  • Planner
  • Offers 2 services
  • Starts at $950

Jenny's lifelong passion for the arts and all things beautiful has been the thread inspiring and guiding her throughout her professional career. With a background in classical music and a decade-long career in nonprofit fundraising events for performance arts organizations, Jenny translated her love of event production into custom wedding planning services for couples who want to marry in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Along with a flair for logistics, she brings a calm demeanor to each event and interaction. Jenny is a star-gazer, a Cancer, and a helper. Her warm nature draws couples who value a close relationship with their planner.

Jenny is a true gem in the wedding industry. I cannot say enough good things about her and recommend to everyone that they hire a wedding planner. She was amazing to work with during every step involved in the planning process. From our very first meeting I instantly felt at ease and knew that we were in the best of hands. Jenny comes with an impressive background in event planning. She knows the in’s and the out’s of the industry and has amazing resources that aided in keeping us on track and organized. Just when I thought that Jenny couldn’t get any better…she literally saved the day for our ceremony! Our DJ got stuck in traffic on his way to Vail and was unfortunately not able to make it to our wedding. We found out the news approximately two hours prior to our ceremony start time. Needless to say, I was panicking…but Jenny wasn’t. She calmly approached me to fill me in on the situation. I very clearly remember her telling me “I’ve got this. Give me some time and I will find a replacement.” Within FIVE MINUTES we had a new DJ hired. I cannot speak enough regarding the importance of hiring local vendors who know the area and have connections in the area. Jenny didn’t stop assisting us once our wedding was over either as she assisted us in negotiations with the DJ for a reimbursement. I will never be able to thank Jenny enough. I went from being incredibly overwhelmed planning a destination wedding to feeling so at ease and confident with the professionals that I hired. It is an incredible thing seeing your vision come to life and I truly don’t think my vision could have been executed without Jenny’s help! Now that my dream wedding has come and gone I feel even more grateful to have made an amazing friend in the process.

We believe... The mountains are the best place to get married. The day is about connection. To each other and to the people you choose to celebrate this union with. Marriage is about love, not gender. In always loving graciously. There are no rules for your wedding. Traditional to non traditional, a wedding is what you make it because of what YOU believe in and how you envision it. There is no right or wrong way to do a wedding. Romance is more about how you see the world than how you see your partner. They just happen to coincide. Marriage is the most epic adventure. In dancing in the rain.

Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot thank Sarah and her team enough for our incredible wedding photos. My husband did the important job of finding Sarah to photograph our engagement in Wash Park, and after working together, we couldn't imagine our wedding day without her! Sarah is wonderful and was easy to work with. She is a fantastic communicator, was proactive in her planning, and was an absolute joy to spend our wedding day with. She went above and beyond on the big day, taking care of all the things you would expect a wedding photographer to manage and so much more. If you're looking for a talented photographer to capture your special day that you'll genuinely enjoy sharing your day with, look no further!

If you are looking for the perfect wedding coordinator, then look no further!! Shawna is the best and took away every little bit of stress I had. This was a destination wedding for me and I was so nervous not having the time to come out and meet any of my vendors in advance but as soon as I talked with Shawna over the phone, I knew I was in great hands! She helped me plan the entire day and did not forget any details! On top of it all, she was so positive and sweet and funny and had everyone laughing and feeling stress free right up to the moment of walking down the aisle! I can’t recommend her enough :)

Julie Adriansen Wedding Officiant

5.0

  • Officiant
  • Offers 9 ceremony types
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Basalt, CO

My name is Julie and I am happy to have officiated over 200 weddings, all over the United States, in the past 15 years. I have a casual and uplifting style. My goal is to make my couples feel comfortable and craft a ceremony for them that reflects their relationship. I am happy to accommodate any of my couple’s wishes. I write all of my ceremonies, and they are all customized to my couples. I am also able to offer a quick elopement if that is your preference. Having two locations makes it easy for me to cover a large area of ceremonies in Colorado, and I am always happy to travel. I am honored to be a part of my couple’s stories.

As a planner with nearly 10 years of experience in the wedding industry, I have seen thousands of ceremonies with countless officiants. Julie is the absolute best of them all. Not once in the many times I have worked with her have I made it through even half of a ceremony with a dry eye because of the sincerity behind her words for the couple. Every ceremony is customized to fit the couple’s personality, values and story and it shines through in the ceremonies Julie officiates. By the time Julie leaves on your wedding day, she will feel like family - that’s what you really want in the person leading you through one of the most special moments of your life, not just someone hired to read a script. I always say she’s sunshine in human form because she has a way of just lighting up a wedding day. If all of that isn’t enough to convince you, know that as a wedding planner myself I could have had anyone officiate my wedding day and the very first person I asked to be part of my day…was Julie.

Piney River Ranch

5.0

Vail, CO
  • Venue
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $15,500

Piney River Ranch is open and accessible from June 21st through the last Saturday in September, and is one of Colorado’s prime wedding destinations. Beneath the Gore Range, one of Colorado’s most beautiful mountain vistas, we can accommodate up to 200 people in our wedding and event space. With two custom log pavilions, and a ceremony deck that boasts mountain views guaranteed to take your breath away, it’s no wonder couples from all over the country come here to say “I do.” The ranch is complete with six guest cabins, three glamping tents and an on-site restaurant and bar as the perfect place to entertain your guests.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Rustic yet refined style
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • On-site parking not available
I wanted to pass on to others our experience using Piney River Ranch as the venue for the marriage of our daughter this past July. Monique and her staff at Piney River Ranch bent over backwards from beginning to the end to help us plan and execute this once-in-a-lifetime event for our daughter. They were always available to answer our questions and to adjust their services to meet our needs. In other words, they provided the kind of personalized customer service that seems to be getting harder and harder to find these days. The result was a virtually perfect wedding day (and rehearsal the prior morning) from beginning to end. Piney River Ranch is located about 12 miles north of Vail at the end of a Forest Service dirt road. While that doesn't sound very far, the road is rough. It takes about 40 minutes to drive that 12 miles from Vail. That results in some logistical challenges but it is well worth the effort and in fact enhances the feeling of arriving at someplace special. It's not until actually arriving at the ranch that the spectacular mountain backdrop rising up behind Piney Lake suddenly reveals itself, and when it does, it virtually overwhelms the senses. I'm not aware of any other venue that combines the kind of jaw-dropping scenery Piney River Ranch possesses with the convenience of having all the facilities needed for a wedding ceremony and reception. I would describe the ranch as having a sort of rustic elegance which exactly fits with the nature of its location. Our wedding was sized at approximately 150 people and the facility was able to comfortably accommodate that number. While it is theoretically possible for the ranch to accommodate up to 200 for weddings, I suspect things will start feeling crowded and the layout will get more challenging if the number gets too much above 150. The ranch has a number of cabins and glam tents along the lake that can be booked. It worked out well for us to utilize one of the cabins as a base for the groom’s party and one of the glam tents for the bride’s party. For smaller weddings, there are a couple of small rooms off of the main reception area that can be utilized for that purpose. Because of the logistical challenge the road to the ranch presents, I would recommend using vendors with previous experience there as they will understand what adjustments they need to make to their operations in order for everything to proceed smoothly. The ranch maintains a list of recommended vendors which proved helpful. In our case, we used Timberline tours for transporting wedding guests from Vail to Piney River Ranch and back. Piney River Ranch works with a local catering company, Cowboy Catering out of Gypsum and the food and service they provided were outstanding. We also utilized Event Rents out of Gypsum for glass water goblets and cloth napkins. In summary, I would highly recommend Piney River Ranch for a wedding. It will provide a unique once-in-a-lifetime type experience for all of your guests, not to mention the bride and groom. I can’t tell you how many people came up to us afterwards to tell us how much they enjoyed it and what an amazing experience it was for them. While the location does present some logistical challenges, Monique and her staff are there to guide you through every step of the process to give you the end result you are looking for.

Freight was the most perfect wedding venue for us. Mostly, I loved the western/ mountain/ country vibe to it, makes it very unique. It’s beautiful inside as well especially with the string lights. The staff was 10/10 amazing. I barely did a single thing on my wedding day, they had everything taken care of from set up to filling leftover food boxes for us. Loved the option to rent so many things through stellar and sage too. The indoor/ outdoor combo was absolutely perfect too. All of our friends/ fam are talking about how cool the venue was still. The cabins are an awesome bonus too to have friends/ fam right on site. Highly recommend!

Hi I'm Lizzy! I'm a wedding photographer based in the crazy-beautiful mountains of Summit County, Colorado with my husband and daughter. More importantly I am a human being who loves climbing and snowboarding with friends, listening to Stevie Nicks, surfing whenever we can escape from the mountains, eating way too many baked goods, and just being outside with my family.

Awarded Best of Zola
We absolutely loved working with Lizzy. Our wedding was last minute and with only 3 months to plan I was worried about finding a photographer to capture the day in the way I envisioned. Lizzy could not have been a better fit for our day. She was incredibly easy going and flexible. She blended right in with the party - we hardly noticed she was there. Our photos were phenomenal - we get compliments on the quality all the time. And she captured not only beautiful portraits but touching candids of my husband and I with our friends and family. Even with 2 years to plan, I'd book Lizzy as our photographer every single time.

After a recommendation from a friend, I hired Breckenridge Hair to do my hair and makeup for our wedding as well as some family members' and friends'. I couldn't have been happier with the way the styles turned out. They were quick and efficient and everyone loved both their hair and makeup services. The false lashes were beautiful and they also did an excellent job matching face makeup to skin tones. I was extremely pleased with my hair - even though I had never tried this style, I showed my stylist an inspo pic and it turned out exactly how I had hoped. I thought the travel fee from Breckenridge to Copper at 100 per stylist was a little steep, but I understand it's difficult to pack up and travel with all their supplies. Breck Hair also communicated effectively and quickly and made sure to confirm our appointment ahead of time. Overall, I was extremely happy with the outcome and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for wedding hair and makeup services!

The Lodge At Breckenridge

5.0

Breckenridge, CO
  • Venue
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,500

Perched atop a cliff overlooking Breckenridge, CO, The Lodge at Breckenridge is a luxury resort wedding venue. This mountain lodge offers breathtaking views over the town of Breckenridge and the Tenmile Range. The panoramic scenery is stunning all year round, making for a beautiful mountain wedding no matter the season. The Lodge at Breckenridge sits 10,200 feet above sea level and three miles from downtown Breckenridge. The Lodge has three different event spaces fit for any kind of wedding. Couples who opt for an outdoor wedding will find no better place than the Sky View Deck. The Mountain View Conference Room can accommodate 140 guests for reception seating, while the Foyer Room is better suited to cocktail receptions. Catering can be provided by the in-house catering team with a variety of packages and services to choose from. The property has two private guest houses that are perfect for the wedding party’s stay. The interiors feature cozy, rustic furnishings, and decor.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Classic seating dinner
  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • On-site parking not available
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
If you’re looking for a scenic mountain wedding, the lodge is perfect! Being able to get married on the huge deck overlooking the Rockies was the perfect backdrop for our special day. The convenience of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces all being together along with the ability for guests to stay on site really sold us over. We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The staff were friendly and helped make our day stress free with setup, teardown, and bar and food service. The only downside is the space is slightly outdated, but that can be covered with decor. We also didn’t like that we couldn’t have a hotel block for our wedding guests and there wasn’t any sort of discount or upgrade for the bride and groom even though we had many people stay at The Lodge. We recommend event guests book rooms well in advance to make sure they have a room there if they want one. Picking a wedding venue isn’t easy and we’re ultimately glad with where we ended up. We would definitely recommend The Lodge at Breck!

Officiant Phil Gallagher

5.0

  • Officiant
  • Offers 7 ceremony types
  • Starts at $300
  • Serves Basalt, CO

I love to laugh. I love connecting with people of all ages. And I have a unique outlook on life. I am an avid storyteller and public speaker that enjoys drawing attention to the depth and meaning of life's most special AND most ordinary moments... which is why I absolutely LOVE officiating weddings! Having someone you know perform your wedding? Awesome. Hire me only to provide support and guide them so script creation and stress doesn't fall back on you. Otherwise, it will. I'll write a killer script and coach them so they'll seem like a pro. AND, just let me know your budget so we can work around breaking the bank.

Phil was absolutely amazing both as our officiant and pre-marital coach! We had a meeting call with a couple officiants, but we just loved Phil’s energy, intelligence, and zest for love and life! Scheduling and communication were a breeze. He was easy to talk to in our sessions, and gave us good advice that helped us diffuse and resolve conflicts, as well as navigate how to combine our lives. The scripts he wrote were so beautiful, but we were still able to pick our favorite versions and he encouraged us to tweak it as we liked to get everything just right. Working with Phil never felt transactional, like he was just a good friend. He arrived early before our wedding, and it was amazing to have him there as a source of calm and confidence. Even amidst the unexpected, he rolled with the punches with dignity and good humor. I recommend him to all of my friends!

I cannot answer emails on this platform, please find me through my website. Intimacy and adventure is what I am all about. I absolutely love couples who are fun, who are real and let it fly. I want to see you! You probably don’t mind if your dress gets dirty. You may be down for a short hike and are not afraid of getting in the water at the end of your elopement. You don’t mind if things don’t go perfectly and that is just perfect. You are my people. THE BEST PARTS OF LIFE ARE THE PARTS THAT SURPRISE US. AND THE BEST PHOTOS ARE USUALLY THE ONES WE DIDN’T KNOW WERE COMING.

We couldn’t have been luckier to have found EJ to capture our special day. Working with her was simply the best. From her easy going demeanor in the planning process, willingness to listen to what we were looking for, and the talent of her eye behind the lens - she truly has a gift. She captured the essence of our story intuitively, and gave us gifts that will last a lifetime in her images. She trekked all through the woods at 10,800’ to capture what we was important to us, all the while with patience and a smile.

They provided a detailed timeline to ensure everything went smoothly, and were invested in making sure our day was amazing. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with the beautiful mountain backdrop. One suggestion would be to have an option for food or snacks at the base while guests are waiting to be transported up to the venue. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better location and team to host our wedding. We highly recommend Arapahoe Basin to any couples looking for a unique and memorable Colorado wedding experience for you and your guest.

My husband and I highly recommend working with Petal and Bean as your florist! Wow, Kayle and her team really delivered the vision we had perfectly. We wanted wildflowers to complement the beautiful natural mountain scenery and what they put together was just stunning! We heard from many guests how gorgeous the florals were---and we completely agreed! You won't regret working with Kayle and her team!

I am an insatiable traveler chick who enjoys capturing the love of couples adventuring through life's most important moments, and capturing the small intimate ones we rarely put enough importance on - those raw, uniquely candid moments are my favorite. The emotion, energy and love that my clients provide to me is infectious. I'm always down to celebrate with a glass of something after we are finished (or maybe during *wink*) PS: my husband and I ELOPED! If you have questions regarding this special kind of commitment day, I'm here to answer all your questions!

Meredith met with us prior to signing the contract and we immediately knew we wanted her for our big day. During our wedding day, Meredith was so great at capturing every possible shot you could ever want! Her directions were so kind but necessary. She brings ease to your day and is fun to be around. The photos she captured were everything we ever wanted! We will be using her from here on out for all our photo needs :)
