“Our experience working with Jamie and Ceremony DJs can be best summed up by the fact that multiple people told us after the ceremony they wanted to book him for their wedding and at least one got his business card! I can't imagine a better DJ, truly. When we first met with Jamie, he said he could make people dance to anything and would keep people on the dance floor all night, and he WAS NOT LYING. The whole night, the dance floor was PACKED even though it was rainy/muddy/cold/wet. Jamie took us on a journey that covered all of the bases of the music we love to hear and dance to, seamlessly and magically (?) integrating genres with the best mixes, it was pure wizardry and really captured who we were. We as a couple care a lot about music and wanted music that represented who we were and what we like to listen to, and he did not disappoint! So much prep work went into this, he took patience and time to try to understand our tastes and vibe, and it was so cool to have the wedding played on vinyl- basically, Jamie just "got it" from start to finish and we had the best time! Our wedding also got delayed due to rain and a road closure and he was such a good sport, staying late to keep us all dancing for a whole other hour- so fun! Also, when our ceremony musician was stuck in traffic due to the storm, he was so prepared and had our prelude/processional music downloaded so we could still walk down the aisle to the songs we'd chosen. Overall, such a cool, kind, funny guy who was professional and prepared in every way and honest just takes time to meet and know his clients, and clearly just loves to share his love of music. My now husband and I were quite nervous about hiring a DJ (naturally given it was our first time!), but the second I found and spoke to Joey over the phone in an introductory call, I knew we were in good hands. “Ovation Entertainment and Dj Mike did such an incredible job on our wedding! There were so many times my fiancé and I were feeling overwhelmed and stressed during wedding planning, but every time we had a meeting with Mike, we always felt energized, accomplished, and excited again. Mike is very responsive, professional, and organized. Mike helped us plan out the timing of our events and recommended the perfect songs for moments where we hadn’t yet figured out which songs to play. Mike even helped suggest non-music related things for us, like certain pictures we should have our photographer capture (we followed his recommendations and love those shots, btw.) “Bryan was absolutely amazing! And he had quite a journey with me. Our wedding was originally June of 2020, and Bryan helped me to sort out what to use for the ceremony, and helped to guide me toward good music for the reception. I was feeling reading, but of course COVID forced us to delay our wedding to June 2021. He was more than understanding, and helped us to delay with compassion. Fast forward to March of 2021, and due to a really devastating year on our family, we decided to cancel our wedding altogether. Bryan worked with my husband and I (we legally got married in 2020) to have an “unwedding” party, just some good music and karaoke in our backyard, to take our minds off of the tough times. It was so much fun, everyone had a great time, and Bryan helped us to lighten the mood to keep us distracted from what could have been a really sad day for us. “From our very first conversation through the last song of the night, JJ was organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in getting our day right. He sent over a detailed music and info document, built and split our Spotify playlists into cocktail, dinner, and dance sets, and checked in regularly to make sure nothing slipped through the cracks. When we forgot a detail, he caught it. When we had questions about amplification for our string quartet or audio for our videographer, he had a solution ready before we'd finished asking. He also ran a photo booth for us, matched our design, and handled all of it without us having to think about it. And then there was the party. JJ read the room perfectly and kept the dance floor full all night. If you want a DJ who takes the planning as seriously as the performance, book JJ. We couldn't recommend him more.”
