    Spotswood Lodge has beautiful grounds. The green barn with the willow tree is stunning and the pond with the dock is beautiful. Anywhere on the grounds would be great for portraits, a first look and even a ceremony. Inside the home there is enough space to easily have overnight accommodations for families or a wedding party.

    I am a wedding planner in Central Virginia and I can not say enough about the beauty of Spotswood Lodge. This venue really ticks all of the boxes for guest lodging or for an intimate wedding; historic, private and blissfully serene. The team at The Market at Grelen has maintained the house, cottage and grounds with love and care and puts their whole heart into taking care of their guests. Book and enjoy!!

    I had my wedding at the Spotswood Lodge in October of 2023. I had my eye on this beautiful property even before my engagement, as I was already leaning towards an intimate, small, airbnb-type wedding with family and a few close friends. In the end, we had 18 people hosted at the wedding, 14 of which stayed as our guests in the lodge. If you're thinking of having your wedding ceremony at the property like I did, it was beyond perfect. There are multiple places on the property that are picture-perfect for a ceremony/first-look/vows/etc. The sprawling property was so comfortable and the house is more than well equipped to handle big groups like this. The team was so sweet, accommodating and easily reachable for any questions I had about my untraditional wedding weekend. I absolutely recommend this spot to host your big wedding party or do like I did, and have the wedding on the property itself.
