About this venue
Alta Lodge is a classic mountain wedding venue with overnight lodging. Located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, at Alta Ski Area, our intimate lodge offers outstanding personal service and cuisine along with breathtaking views. From small gatherings to grand celebrations, our dedicated staff will assist you with your special event from start to finish, allowing you to relax and enjoy the wedding of your dreams. Our on-site wedding coordinator is included with any booking, so our team will focus on the details while you enjoy your special day with family and friends. Within 32 miles of the Salt Lake International Airport, the Lodge is easily accessed for your family and friends from out of town.

Our ceremony patio offers a stunning backdrop - a perfect fit for couples looking for a mountain setting that speaks for itself. After your ceremony, we have the option to re-set the space for dining and dancing. Approximately 1500 square feet, it can accommodate 130 seated guests for your ceremony.

Sun Deck
Overlooking the patio, the sun deck showcases our stunning mountain backdrop.
The connection between the lobby and our patio, the sun deck is where your guests first step outside and take in our amazing views. A popular space during cocktail hour, the sun deck is also an ideal setting for a more intimate outdoor dinner. Indoor seating is available adjacent to the sun deck in our deck room, so you can have both indoor and outdoor dining tables available for your guests.

Should the weather not hold up for a fully outdoor event, we can transform the lobby into a dance floor as well!

Our historic mountain bar. Available to you and your guests after your reception ends.
The Sitzmark Club is a classic ski bar located in the original building of the Lodge. During the summer months, it is closed to the public and available as a gathering place to get together with friends and family once your reception ends. After the close of your event, no alcohol will be served, but the Sitzmark is available to you as a private space to keep the party going.

Our Lady of the Snows

Our mountain weather can be unpredictable. We recommend booking the Our Lady of the Snows (OLS), Alta's community center. OLS is located across the road from the Lodge entry and it typically used as a backup indoor ceremony space.

We had an incredible experience working with the Alta Lodge team for our September 2026 wedding. The wedding coordinator (Misti) was communicative and organized. Every member of the Alta Lodge team was helpful and welcoming. Our guests all raved about the service at the Lodge. We were very pleased with the food and venue offerings. When the weather turned rainy, the Alta Lodge team quickly pivoted to host our dinner and dancing indoors. We would highly recommend this venue and team to any couples looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding service!

The most amazing day of our lives
If I could give Alta Lodge more than five stars, I would. Our wedding was truly the most perfect day, and so much of that is thanks to the incredible team at Alta Lodge. From the moment we started planning, our coordinator, Misti, was absolutely exceptional. She was organized, responsive, thoughtful, and always one step ahead. On the wedding day, every single staff member from the bartenders, chefs, servers, and everyone working behind the scenes was outstanding. They were kind, attentive, excited, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. We never had to worry about a single thing because they had everything completely under control. The venue itself is breathtaking. Our outdoor ceremony was set against the most beautiful mountain backdrop, and having both indoor and outdoor spaces made the day absolutely perfect. When unexpected weather rolled in, the team transitioned everything indoors so effortlessly that it didn't take away from the day at all. Our reception dinner inside the lodge was warm, elegant, and incredibly beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better backup plan. The food deserves its own review. Every single thing was delicious, from the passed appetizers during cocktail hour to the incredible dinner and dessert buffet. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was! After dinner, everyone danced the night away on the outdoor dance floor under the mountains, and it was truly magical. One of the most unique and special parts of getting married at Alta Lodge was being able to stay the night with all of our family and friends. Waking up the next morning together at the lodge, reminiscing about the wedding, and extending the celebration made the entire experience even more meaningful. Choosing Alta Lodge was hands down the best decision we made while planning our wedding. It is a stunning venue, the staff is second to none, the food is incredible, and they create an experience that is unlike anywhere else. We are forever grateful to Misti and the entire Alta Lodge team for giving us the most unforgettable day of our lives. We would choose Alta Lodge again a hundred times over.

Alta Lodge is THE BEST
Getting married at Alta Lodge was THE ABSOLUTE BEST. We rented Alta Lodge for both Friday and Saturday nights so only our wedding guests were staying up there, and it truly felt like a magical adult summer camp up in the mountains. The entire staff at Alta Lodge was incredible and so helpful. Misti, the wedding coordinator, is fantastic - she is so helpful, so organized, and yet so cool, calm, and kind. On our wedding day, despite not having hired a planner, my husband and I and our families could truly just enjoy the day because the Alta Lodge staff took care of all set up, take down, etc. It was also super convenient to have everything in one place (didn't have to hire caterers, rent chairs, linens, find a rehearsal dinner space, order alcohol, etc). Would choose Alta Lodge again in a heartbeat.

Book Alta lodge for your wedding!!!!
We booked Alta lodge for our destination wedding a year ago. Misti, the wedding coordinator was in contact with me the whole time and was so helpful at helping me plan! She responded quickly and was very patient in answering my thousands of questions. We didn’t go to the lodge until our wedding weekend and hadn’t tried any of the food so we had faith that everything would live up to our expectations. We booked the lodge for the whole weekend and had access to it exclusively, we had a welcome dinner, the wedding and then a farewell brunch. When we got there, we were blown away by the view, it is absolutely beautiful and photos don’t do it justice! The food throughout the weekend was delicious and we got a ton of compliments about our choices. The day of the wedding, Misti and her team took over completely and set everything up, coordinated with the vendors, helped decorate, etc. They took care of everything so we could sit back and enjoy the day. Overall, it was a very low stress wedding weekend which was appreciated!! I have nothing but amazing things to say about Misti and her team. They were so friendly, helpful and the service was impeccable. We were very impressed with everyone there and how well they set up the wedding. If you are thinking about booking the lodge for your wedding, DO IT! It’s 1000% worth it! Thank you Alta lodge for everything!!!
