An incredible team to plan our wedding
We hired Ash and Mukul for our wedding. We had a perfect wedding weekend, and couldn’t have asked for better planners to make it possible, and such amazing and kind people to help guide us along the way. We spent a little over a year planning with them, and the entire process was a joy. We could tell they have lots of expertise and consideration for our specific needs since they went out of their way to research vendors, reach out to them, and organize everything for us and in a clean and readable format. They worked with us on our vision and really understood how we worked and what we wanted out of our wedding. On the calls we had with them, they made sure to understand what was stressing us, and took it upon themselves to alleviate those concerns, and gave us actionable things they would do on their end to ensure that our concerns would be addressed. Whenever we had an issue or a question, we were able to just send Ash a text, and she was on it. Any vendor we wanted, we sent her a text and she reached out and got us a quote within the week. She made sure to keep us updated on all her tasks and things she had discussed with us on our planning calls, and made sure to keep us accountable for things we had to do as well. Working on day of coordination and planning, we had several walkthroughs weeks leading up to the wedding day, with us and our parents. Any and all concerns were resolved on site with parents and us. She even coordinated a day were all the vendors showed up to the venue before the wedding, along with our parent, and we all walked through the timeline, location of events, and what was expected of the vendors. Aside from the vendors, she also made sure the venue was made aware of all things vendors needed, and that all accommodations were made for our vendors, our guests and us. During the wedding weekend, everyone was ready to go. They made us at least someone with us at all times. And they made sure all vendors had someone from their team to ensure that everything that was supposed to be done was done. They also made sure the guests were aware of what do to and where to go, and guided guests to where they needed to go. Overall, we have nothing but praise and admiration for Ash and Mukul. We are still sometimes shocked how fortunate we were to have found them. They planned everything perfectly, and were so kind and attentive throughout the whole process. Our wedding was nothing short of a smashing success, and we have Ash and Mukul to thank for making it all possible.

Hire them IMMEDIATELY!
When we first started planning our wedding on our own, we quickly became overwhelmed. From trying to figure out what we wanted to managing our parents’ input/expectations to setting a budget, we honestly didn’t know how to begin. But we knew we needed a wedding planner— stat. As we were interviewing different planners, we got this sinking feeling that our wedding would just be put in a pipeline with a bunch of other weddings. That we would have to follow a rigid planning process, significantly increase our budget, and choose only from vendors that are presented to us. We yearned for a planning team who truly vibed with us as a couple and had that special sauce, creativity, & passion to bring our dream wedding to life. Cherry Bird Events has done that for us and more. When we had our sights set on a beautiful historic hotel venue in Downtown Dallas— one that had never hosted a big South Asian wedding before— Ash was able to make it happen. She toured the venue with us multiple times despite living over an hour away, and negotiated our contract with finesse, getting us a better deal than any other hotel in DFW was offering. When we found the perfect photographer who specialized in vintage film, Ash let us know she had already inquired with her a week prior. She just understood our vision from the getgo, and knew which vendors would excite us the most. Our biweekly calls became a delight, as Ash would update us on her progress and gave us our own task list to complete by the next meeting. And yes, there were actually new updates every 2 weeks for the 13 months Cherry Bird Events spent planning our wedding. Whenever we had any questions or wanted to look into unique/unconventional vendors, Ash was just a text away. As we got closer to the wedding, our parents became more involved in the planning process. And our parents LOVE Ash & Mukul. Just a couple of months in, they were lauding their praises, saying they wouldn’t know what they’d do without them. During the wedding weekend, it was touching to see how Ash took care of our parents, fed them, and checked in on, so they could just focus fully on being present for us. Cherry Bird Events left a huge impression on our guests as well, many claiming it was the most organized, well thought-out wedding they had ever attended. Ash & Mukul’s gentle communication style and willingness to try even the craziest ideas makes everyone feel heard and important. But at the end of the day, they will be your biggest advocate as the couple. They will put you at the top of their priorities and work harder than anyone else to make your wedding the absolute best it can be. We truly struck gold with them!

Best part of Wedding Planning
Cherry Bird Events was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Their communication style was considerate, thoughtful, calming, organized, and friendly throughout the entire planning process. The quality of their work and value they provided was exceptional - they were adaptive, efficient, detail-oriented, responsive, and highly professional. During our wedding events Ash and Mukul ensured everything was on track and going according to schedule, without letting us know about any hiccups so we could remain calm. Ash was our advocate, protecting us as a couple and making sure we felt good, didn't miss anything, and were taken care of. They were the perfect balance of professional and friendly, always prioritizing our wants as a couple and making the budget and vendors work seamlessly. Our wedding events would not have been the success they were without the incredible support of Cherry Bird Events. All of our vendors also raved about Ash, with our photographer of over 20 years praising them as "a planner that is needed more in Atlanta". We will be reccommending Cherry Bird Events to all of our family and friends that will be getting married in the future! Love you Ash & Mukul! :)

Disappointing Experience
We did not have a good experience working with Cherry Bird Events. We hired them for full-service planning and expected strong day-of coordination and clear communication throughout. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and several issues came up that left us feeling very hurt and disappointed. The biggest issue was that on the day of our wedding, Cherry Bird Events, along with the decorator, Events by Faiza, brought in a content creator (White Lotus Occasions) without our knowledge or consent. This person was dressed in sweatpants, appeared in our professional photos, and was frequently in the way of our photographers and guests. We understand that vendors often capture photos or videos of their work, but doing so in a way that disrupted us as the couple and interfered with our professional photos and memories was not appropriate. It was upsetting in the moment, and even more frustrating to later learn that a reel of our wedding was posted on Instagram in collaboration with the decorator, again without any prior discussion or permission. If they wanted to bring someone in, this should have been discussed with us ahead of time so we could notify our photographers and set clear boundaries around what we were comfortable sharing. At the very least, as our planners, we wish they had recognized the disturbance and stepped in while it was happening. Beyond this, there were other coordination issues throughout the process. We received little support with vendor negotiation, and when problems arose with our decorator not being prepared, excuses were made on her behalf rather than advocating for us. Our photographers were also not guided well ahead of our reception and sangeet photos, which added unnecessary stress on the day. Overall, we felt that Cherry Bird Events was more focused on building vendor relationships and growing their business than on ensuring our wedding day was handled with care. While Ash and Mukul were kind during the planning process, it became clear that they lacked the experience and judgment needed to coordinate a wedding of this scale. We hope this feedback helps Cherry Bird Events improve their approach for future couples.
