About Larry McAllister II Photography

Larry McAllister II Photography

Photographer

For me, photography has always been about storytelling. From the beginning, I was drawn to the way a single image could hold a memory, a feeling, or an entire chapter of someone’s life. Behind the camera, I’m not just looking for what’s in front of me — I’m searching for the story within it, the small details and emotions that make each moment unique. My passion is capturing your story honestly, so they can be felt and remembered long after the moment has passed.

Weddings move fast, and the best moments live in the margins — a grandmother’s hand finding her husband’s during the vows, a flower girl mid-yawn, the note tucked into a pocket. I shoot photojournalistically, watching the whole day unfold so I don’t miss the unplanned, split-second moments that end up mattering most. My approach is easy-going and low-pressure — I’m there to blend in, not direct a performance. That’s what lets me catch things as they actually happen.

The Best Photographer in the Game!

Photography is one of those things you don't want to have to worry about on your wedding day, and Larry made the entire experience stress-free. We discussed our vision for the wedding and the specific photos we wanted to capture, and he made sure every important moment was documented. From getting ready, to the ceremony, and throughout the reception, Larry captured it all beautifully. He also did a great job capturing candid moments between our guests, as well as special moments between my wife and me. The photos turned out amazing, and he provided us with digital copies in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Larry McAllister II Photography to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and talented photographer for their wedding or next special event.

Short answer: no — and that’s a good thing. I shoot thousands of frames on your wedding day to make sure nothing gets missed, but that means culling is part of the craft. I go through every single image and hand-select the strongest shots from each phase of the day — getting ready, ceremony, reception, all of it — while making sure as many of your guests as possible make it into the gallery, not just the two of you. What you get back is a curated collection of your best moments, not a raw, unsorted dump of files.
There’s no flat number — it depends on your coverage and how much ground we cover that day. As a rule of thumb, expect roughly 75–85 edited images per hour of coverage. For reference, a recent wedding with a first look, ceremony, reception, family portraits, and a couple’s shoot ran a little over 4 hours and delivered 335 final images. Longer coverage naturally means a fuller gallery — I’d rather give you a real range than a number pulled out of thin air.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
You’ll get a preview gallery within 1-2 weeks of your wedding, a handful of favorites to hold you over while the full edit is underway. From there, plan on 4-6 weeks for your full gallery. During peak season (May-June, September-October), when I’m shooting multiple weddings back to back, expect the higher end of that window. Film Edition packages need extra time on top of that, since 35mm and medium format have to be developed and scanned before they’re added to your gallery.
A year out is ideal, especially for full weddings during peak season — it locks in your date and gives us time to plan the engagement shoot. That said, I know not everyone has that kind of lead time. Elopements and micro-weddings tend to come together faster, and I can often work with a month or two of notice for those. If you’re unsure whether your timeline works, just reach out — I’d rather tell you what’s possible than have you assume you’re too late.
Every package includes a full online gallery with a print release, so you’re free to order prints, gifts, and keepsakes wherever you’d like — no restrictions on your end. I’m not offering albums as an add-on right now, but it’s something I’m looking to bring into the lineup down the road. If you’ve got specific print needs before then, just ask — happy to point you toward quality labs.
Yes — think of me as a second set of eyes on your day. I’ll weigh in on when portraits, family photos, and your couple’s shoot should happen so nothing feels rushed or gets skipped. Before the wedding, we’ll go over your family photo list together so I know exactly who needs to be in which shot — that alone saves a surprising amount of time and keeps that part of the day moving smoothly.
Travel within 30 miles of Philadelphia is included in every package. Beyond that, a mileage fee applies, and for weddings outside the region, I’ll put together a custom travel quote covering transportation and lodging if needed. Send me your venue when you reach out, and travel costs get built into your estimate up front.
I’ve never missed a wedding, but if illness or an emergency ever kept me from being there, I have a network of trusted photographers I’d bring in so your day is still fully covered. You’d be looped in ahead of time, not blindsided on the day itself. It’s a plan I hope never gets used, but one I take seriously.
