I'm Bernadette, my friends call me Bernie, the photographer behind Captured by Bernadette. Faith based out of Snohomish WA. With over a 10+ years of experience, true-to-color imagery with genuine storytelling tailored to each couple. My work is shaped by the landscapes I love most — the North Cascades, the San Juan Islands, the red rocks of Sedona, and the golden hour across the West. Specializing in elopements, micro weddings, and intimate celebrations for couples who choose meaning over production and want your day to be exactly how you imagine it.
What sets my work apart, not just capturing gorgeous pictures — it's presence. I communicate clearly before your day, move quietly through it, and deliver galleries that feel like you — not a beautiful stranger's wedding. The person you want to spend your wedding day with
Bernadette was a great photographer for our wedding. We had about 65 people on the Olympic Peninsula, and she was there with us for around 8 hours, getting some getting ready shots, wedding party and family shots, ceremony and reception. She was proactive in reaching out before the big day, scouted our venue ahead of time to find the best spots, and really listened to what mattered to us. My grandma had died 2 weeks before, and my brain got funky about wanting formal photos of everyone despite having asked for more of a documentary style photography, and Bernadette rolled with it and we still got the style of photographs we wanted in the first place too. We especially love how she captured our first dance, which was really important to us as we met Blues Dancing. We also had our ceremony in a small Gazebo with seating in the round. While it was quite tight for shooting, she managed to get great shots without interrupting or anything feeling unnatural.

Wedding and Maternity Bliss
We knew Captured by Bernadette was the right choice from our first conversation—she listened carefully and came prepared with thoughtful ideas about posing, lighting, and what would work best for our wedding day. On the day itself, it was scorching hot, but Bernadette kept us calm and guided us through poses while also letting us be ourselves, which is exactly what we wanted. She has an incredible eye for natural light and beautiful backgrounds, and she was gentle about helping me stay composed when I was feeling nervous/making silly faces. Beyond just taking photos, Bernadette became a real friend to us, and we loved her so much that we hired her again for our maternity shoot. The final images came back quickly and looked polished and beautiful-memories we fondly look over. If you want a photographer who genuinely cares about you and knows how to make you look your best without making it feel stressful, Bernadette is absolutely worth it! She’s kind, quick to reply and incredibly talented.

From our first conversation with Bernadette, we knew we'd found our photographer. She was easy to talk to and genuinely interested in learning about us and our wedding day. When we signed on, she surprised us with vow books and a gift box with champagne, which set the tone for how thoughtful she'd be throughout the whole process. On the wedding day, Bernadette blended seamlessly with our families and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. She went above and beyond by capturing video of our reception and special moments we didn't even ask for. We love our photos, and we couldn't be happier with how she documented our day.
