Serendipity Catering is a full-service catering and event planning company based in Ithaca, NY. We focus on delivering exceptional service and perfectly detailed presentation for all of our weddings and events. Our culinary team is constantly creating and developing new ways to incorporate local and seasonal ingredients into our kitchen.

Serendipity Catering offers all different levels of service including fully customized weddings, served lunches and dinners, food drop-offs or deliveries, or coffee deliveries. We customize all of our services to each client’s needs and budget. We will work with you to create a menu and organize any other services you may require such as bar, rentals, decor and linens. Our experienced team is always prepared to offer suggestions and advice.

We are full service. We can share with you images of available rentals and work with you to find a something within your budget. We have many options to choose from. We have Farm tables, tables with linens, runners, vintage glassware and lounge seating and more. We will set up and take down everything.
Yes, we offer tastings for you and a guest for a small fee. If you sign a contract with us beforehand, we can waive this fee.
We can provide dietary requested meals, vegan, gluten free, dairy free. Whatever you might need. We can also customize a fully vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menu.
For a small per person fee, we can cut and serve your wedding cake to your guests. This includes plates and flatware. We can also supply you with a cake knife for cutting for your photos! Or you can make your cake. Just set up a sample cake tasting with our Pastry Chef!
We are in Ithaca, NY. Our service area is where you are! We have been to Rochester, Syracuse, and Pennsylvania. We often travel to Corning and Elmira, and we were once asked to go to Miami, which is a bit farther, but we are willing!
We recommend meeting as often as you need. We will set up our first meeting to go over your Wishlist. This can be in person, over the phone, or via Zoom. We will create a Proposal & Budget and then set up a tasting. We can decide to review linens and decor at that time or make a separate meeting to review your design options. We will also meet you at the venue for a site visit to layout where you want each element of the wedding to happen. We are here to help make the planning process smooth, easy, and fun!
For summer and fall weddings we recommend reserving services at least 10 months in advance. We also accommodate shorter lead times when availability permits—we have successfully executed events planned in under three weeks as well as bookings made three years ahead. If you have committed to working with us but have not finalized a venue or menu, we offer a Save the Date Deposit to secure your date. Our experienced team can manage any timeline to create a seamless, customized wedding experience.
No, we do not have a minimum for budget or guest count.
Our Weddings have staffing fees that are based on the length of time required to complete your event.
