We are a boutique catering business, specialized in Oystertaining people. Our Oystertainers open fresh oysters on the spot while entertaining your guests. The oysters come from carefully selected oysterfarms in the Northern East coast of US/Canada. With their outgoing personality, our Oystertainers know how to persuade almost anybody to eat oysters. The founder, Matijn Wijn, started the company 20 years ago in the Netherlands. He is driven by a passion for oysters and when he introduced Oystertainment® it was an overnight success. We also run oyster bars at world leading art fairs like Art Basel and TEFAF. Let's Oystertain you!

    A MUST HAVE for your event!

    If you have the opportunity to book Red Oyster USA for your event you 100% should! First off the booking experience was above and beyond with customer service, answering all of my questions promptly and with ease. My husband and I renewed our vows on a rooftop in New York City December 30. My husband and a lot of our guests enjoy oysters so I thought this would be the perfect addition to our reception! We had the pleasure of having Sophia as our Oystertainer for the evening. She was AMAZING!!! She was extremely friendly and helpful! I was not much of an oyster person before, but she had me try them a couple of different ways and I did find one that actually worked really well for me. If it wasn’t for her knowledge and guiding I probably would’ve never tried them and now I am a fan! The Oystertainer was really another amazing staple to our evening and I am so glad we were able to book them. I would book them each time I had an event if I was given the opportunity, I highly suggest you do the same!!!! You won’t regret it!!! Now I will have to wait until they expand to Oklahoma (hint,hint) to book again!


The number of oysters you’ll need for your event depends on various factors. Most important is the number of guests you are expecting, but there are other things to take into consideration, including budget and time. In turn, the number of oysters and the time we have to Oystertain determine how many Oystertainers there will be. Our Red Oyster experts are here to guide you through the proces.
Of course! We know that every event is different. That’s why we will always give you a free, tailor made proposal.
Our Oystertainers open oysters on the spot as they move around the room, so there is no need to provide a table! They will bring the oysters in a cooler, and a custom Red Oyster backpack with all their equipment. All you need to provide is a small space to store the cooler and the backpack, and a garbage can for the empty shells. We’ll do the rest!
Our minimum amount is 100 oysters and it doesn't matter where the venue is.
The sooner is always better but it can be up to 2 weeks in advance (so 2 weeks before the wedding).
We serve all areas; we can literally travel anywhere. There will be only some travel expenses added. If travel expenses apply, you will see that in our free tailor made proposal.
