When my friends started to get married, the requests to DJ their weddings began pouring in. It made sense, they wanted to party, and I had helped them do it weekend after weekend all over NYC. It only took one wedding for me to realize that they needed a lot more help than what I did in the clubs. These days, I and my team help plan & entertain at all types of events (not just weddings), clients become friends (they don’t start there) and they benefit from our staff’s collective experience and the 10 years in the event industry Stem Productions has been active.

I’m also proud to say that we have the capacity to provide a LOT more services to our clients at a quality level that is elevated at each and every event we work. Stem Productions emerged organically from my love of music and wanting to help my friends enjoy each and every moment of one of the most important days of their lives. Things look a little different today, but my approach always remains the same: Deliver one of the best days of my clients’ lives as if they are part of my inner circle of friends. And, of course, music still takes priority.

    Yang's Wedding

    Steve is a very clear and well-spoken professional. From the first meeting he shows his desire to make the wedding day a success and has a solid project flow to do so. The use of Vibo lets the couple customize song selection for their day to great detail and Steve is able to cater to Korean cultural dynamics with grace. His working experience also reflects in his recommendations for timing of parts of the wedding maintaining a flow of the vibe from a big picture perspective. On the day of, he brought the calm and the hype wherever and whenever needed.

    We 3 Steve! Our "easiest" vendor!

    Steve and his team were by far our "easiest" vendor. From the first intro call, Steve was extremely responsive and organized (which stood out immediately after some less-than-professional calls with other DJs). He worked with us to understand our vibe and helped us select the package that worked best. After signing, he was extremely responsive whenever we had questions and followed the communication plan exactly, with regular meetings in the lead-up to our wedding. We used STEM Productions for DJ, photo booth, lighting, and a live saxophonist for our reception (the best add-on!!!) We felt cared for and guided throughout the prep process, and then at our wedding, the team more than delivered. He kept things moving, and once the dance floor opened, it was packed all night. It was such a relief to go into the night knowing we could trust Steve and his team to execute flawlessly - he made all of our dance floor dreams come true, from helping us plan our family dances, to including an ABBA "power hour", throwback must-plays, and ending the night with NY classics. Between the emceeing, DJing, and sax, they played off the crowd and each other all night with great transitions. They pay attention to every little touch - the photo booth options and buttons were customized, and even Steve's emcee notecards were "branded" with our names/font! We are so grateful for how easy it was to trust Steve on our big night. We recommend working with Stem Productions without hesitation!

    AMAZING!

    Stem productions did a great job with our wedding!! Steve especially leading up to our big day truly worked with us through every step of the way. He made sure to always put our needs/desires first and even when we were getting stressed and overwhelmed with everything, Steve really did his absolute best to keep us calm and motivate us to just have fun. Steve really made our whole wedding experience amazing!

    The best MC for your wedding night!

    Steve is an absolute professional in the craft of MC'ing and DJ'ing. He was proactive and gave us clear instructions during the wedding planning phase, which then translated to the perfect day. From the ceremony to reception, he made guests feel comfortable with lovely music and his MC'ing skills. He also provided the most wonderful DJ and photobooth services (we highly recommend adding the photobooth). Our guests had so much fun and he was able to transition seamlessly between poignant moments and energetic moments. He is the perfect combination of elegance, charm, poignancy, and energy!

    Best MC, DJ and PHOTOBOOTH service

    We booked Stem Productions for our wedding and couldn't have made a better choice. From our first conversation, the team showed they genuinely cared about making our day special and stayed organized throughout the entire planning process. They nailed the vibe we were going for and kept communication flowing smoothly every step of the way. On the wedding day, their professionalism and experience shined through in every song they played, and having bilingual MC made our reception feel inclusive for all our guests. The sound quality and performance were top-notch, exactly what you'd expect from the best in the business. We're so grateful to Stem Productions for bringing their talent and heart to our celebration.

Our home base is in Bergen County, NJ, but we regularly travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, Central and South New Jersey. We've even worked events out in Los Angeles.
Short answer, yes. For a celebration like a wedding, we always work as at least a two-person team - one DJ and one MC. This allows our staff to stay focused on their specific tasks.
Absolutely we accept requests, but will only play them if they make sense in elevating the atmosphere. That latest Adele song? It gives us the feels too, but we don’t recommend playing heartbreak songs while celebrating love. It’s all about context.
The more we know about your (and your guests’) musical taste, the more we can dial into just what type of crowd and party to expect. That said, we are dance floor specialists, so we read the crowd, the atmosphere, and make judgment calls in the moment.
Not to be cliche, but we play it all. All of our DJ's are open-format specialists, meaning they play whatever the dance floor or situation calls for. Old-school-Hip-Hop? We got that. EDM? Untz. K-pop? As-ssa!
Absolutely. Once we're locked in for a job, we can send our Certificate of Insurance (COI) directly to your point of contact at the venue upon request.
It all depends on what your event requires, but all of our equipment is manufactured for professionals, well-maintained, and carefully set up to enhance the look of your event.
We always wear occasion-specific attire.
Typically we arrive at the venue 1.5-2 hours before the event to load-in, set up all the equipment, change into our evening wear, and give ourselves a few moments to center ourselves before the show begins.
Each event is unique and presents its own variables. We’re a little old school and like to get on the phone to find out as much as possible about the event and see if we’re the right fit. If we end up working together, all we would need is a signed agreement and deposit to lock the date in.
We ask that the full balance be paid by the day of your event.
We actually prefer it. Planning an event requires a short-term working relationship between us and our clients. We want to get to know you better, have casual conversations, and let ideas and inspiration percolate organically. What’s the best way for this to happen? While meeting in person.
