When my friends started to get married, the requests to DJ their weddings began pouring in. It made sense, they wanted to party, and I had helped them do it weekend after weekend all over NYC. It only took one wedding for me to realize that they needed a lot more help than what I did in the clubs. These days, I and my team help plan & entertain at all types of events (not just weddings), clients become friends (they don’t start there) and they benefit from our staff’s collective experience and the 10 years in the event industry Stem Productions has been active.

I’m also proud to say that we have the capacity to provide a LOT more services to our clients at a quality level that is elevated at each and every event we work. Stem Productions emerged organically from my love of music and wanting to help my friends enjoy each and every moment of one of the most important days of their lives. Things look a little different today, but my approach always remains the same: Deliver one of the best days of my clients’ lives as if they are part of my inner circle of friends. And, of course, music still takes priority.

Steve was amazing to work with throughout the whole planning process and execution on the day of the wedding. We hired his team to provide music from the ceremony to reception, lighting during the reception, photo booth with props for guests to use, MC and audio services, and setting up a quiz game. Most of this came as a package that fit our budget with some add-ons like the quiz game. Steve provided us a detailed questionnaire about each part of the wedding that we filled out and reviewed for our meetings. It really showed his knowledge of the industry and helped us prepare for things we didn’t even know we needed to prepare for. The planning was overwhelming at first but Steve was so calm and professional that it helped us feel more confident in the plan. Steve was also the MC at our wedding and he was able to get the guests energized and on the dance floor. The quiz game was decided and put together a month before the wedding but Steve was able to work with the venue and the maid of honor to plan and set up the game in such a short period of time. We would definitely recommend Stem Productions to other couples looking to bring organized fun to their wedding and to have one less vendor to worry about!

All-in-one vendor
We booked the MC, DJ and photo booth package with Stem Productions and it was so easy to have everything taken care of within one team. Steve was with us every step of the way and walked us through everything. He was incredibly patient with our questions and set up multiple calls with us leading up to the wedding. Steve is also able to make edits of the dance songs which was really nice. Thank you for making our day so organized!

I cannot gush enough about Stem Productions. Steve was instrumental in planning my wedding by walking me through the timeline, making suggestions for a better flow and kindly mixing two songs for the mother-son dance without us asking! He is always responsive and very organized. MC Andre smoothly directed guests' attention by calming them for sentimental parts then hyping them up for awesome moments. Kate attended our photobooth and generously provided prints based on the number of people in the photobooth. The props were also incredible! DJ Wali kept the dancefloor busy all night long and we got multiple compliments from our guests about him being the best wedding DJ due to his skillful mixing and ability to read the vibes.

Phenomenal Wedding DJ and Entertainment Services
Highly, highly recommend STEM Productions for any couple looking for excellent wedding DJ, MC services. Steve was super professional, responsive, throughout our planning process, with very helpful and candid feedback on things to consider. Highlights: He crafted an amazing version of our first dance song. His audio setup for our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception was perfect - with the music and speeches coming out so clearly and beautifully. The Photo Booth was also a 10/10 His DJ, Wali, and his MC, Sisi, were fantastic for our Filipino-Chinese wedding.

We worked with the best
From the moment we first contacted Stem Productions, we were impressed by their professionalism and organized approach. They were a true pleasure to work with, always responsive and down to earth in their communication. On the day of our wedding, their execution was absolutely top-notch - the order of events flowed so smoothly, and the DJ had the perfect playlist to keep our guests dancing all night long. Stem Productions truly went above and beyond to make our special day perfect, and we can't stop recommending them enough. Their quality of work and value is unparalleled.

Our home base is in Bergen County, NJ, but we regularly travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, Central and South New Jersey. We've even worked events out in Los Angeles.

Short answer, yes. For a celebration like a wedding, we always work as at least a two-person team - one DJ and one MC. This allows our staff to stay focused on their specific tasks.

Absolutely we accept requests, but will only play them if they make sense in elevating the atmosphere. That latest Adele song? It gives us the feels too, but we don’t recommend playing heartbreak songs while celebrating love. It’s all about context.

The more we know about your (and your guests’) musical taste, the more we can dial into just what type of crowd and party to expect. That said, we are dance floor specialists, so we read the crowd, the atmosphere, and make judgment calls in the moment.

Not to be cliche, but we play it all. All of our DJ's are open-format specialists, meaning they play whatever the dance floor or situation calls for. Old-school-Hip-Hop? We got that. EDM? Untz. K-pop? As-ssa!

Absolutely. Once we're locked in for a job, we can send our Certificate of Insurance (COI) directly to your point of contact at the venue upon request.

It all depends on what your event requires, but all of our equipment is manufactured for professionals, well-maintained, and carefully set up to enhance the look of your event.

We always wear occasion-specific attire.

Typically we arrive at the venue 1.5-2 hours before the event to load-in, set up all the equipment, change into our evening wear, and give ourselves a few moments to center ourselves before the show begins.

Each event is unique and presents its own variables. We’re a little old school and like to get on the phone to find out as much as possible about the event and see if we’re the right fit. If we end up working together, all we would need is a signed agreement and deposit to lock the date in.

We ask that the full balance be paid by the day of your event.

We actually prefer it. Planning an event requires a short-term working relationship between us and our clients. We want to get to know you better, have casual conversations, and let ideas and inspiration percolate organically. What’s the best way for this to happen? While meeting in person.
