Homewood, a special event venue in Asheville, NC, is an ideal destination for rehearsal dinners, weddings, receptions, and gatherings. Homewood is a beautifully restored 1920s stone manor located in Asheville's post-Victorian historic district of Montford. The elegant castle was originally built as a private home. The elegance of the 1920s luminesces from original wrought iron chandeliers and alabaster sconces, casting graceful lighting from the 20-foot ceilings of the Great Room to the original hardwood floors, cherry walls, and grand Appalachian stone fireplaces. Conveniently located within a mile of downtown Asheville, Homewood offers 200 free, designated parking spaces, and is located in a neighborhood setting. The Great Room seats 110 people for dinner, or up to 150 with cocktail seating, with space for dance floor and DJ or band. Homewood is fully handicap-accessible. The beautiful and lush surrounding grounds provide additional outdoor space, including our garden ceremony site.

Homewood was the perfect venue for our small, intimate wedding ceremony. From the moment we first contacted them, the wedding coordinator was so friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our day special. The venue itself was breathtaking - the elegant, vintage decor and stunning natural surroundings created a truly fairytale setting. Everything was exactly as we had imagined and more. My fiancé and I were struggling to find a venue for our winter wedding. Our styes were totally different and we had toured many different types of venues without any luck. One day while visiting the Schiele as we often do, we noticed they were setting up for a party and that was it! It was easy and affordable to set up having our ceremony and reception at the Schiele. We opted to have the planetarium open during our reception and someone was in there the whole time to answer questions, point out different constellations, etc. Our guests loved having the entire museum to explore throughout the night and they had the added bonus of the sock skating rink being open! We had a wonderful time and many of our guests told us later it was the most unique and fun venue they had been to for a wedding.
