Unique Location, Spectacular People
We toured the Jail because it was a unique venue amongst so many others. It ended up being the first spot we toured, and it became the standard to which we held other venues to. It is a historic building and has so much charm, interesting backdrops, and character. What sets it a part from other places is the owners, Victoria and Blair, who helped us create a magical day. From the start, I asked Victoria multiple "what if" questions for our expected crowd of 100 and how they would handle "xyz". She had an answer and a plan for everything. It made me feel confident that we could have a wedding that was magical, but also relaxed and fun like my husband and I. They are there to help answer any question you have along the way. Suggestions for hair, flowers, food. To "How many drinks do I purchase?" -- as a bride who was the primary planner for the event it was a godsend to know they were a quick text or call away. My goal on my wedding day was to be able to enjoy the day (no questions, decision making, problem solving) and Victoria assured me day 1 that they would make that vision happen. The bridesmaids and I walk in on the morning of hearing our getting ready playlist we made playing on the speakers. I got to hang out and enjoy getting ready, focusing on what really matters. As someone who has planned my fair share of events it was the most stress-free day of any event I have ever planned. I could not more adamantly recommend this venue enough. We saw the venue on a list of so many others on Zola and checked it out because "what do you mean a jail as a wedding venue?". And the building is beautiful, but it was the people that really makes this place special. If you want a location where you know you will be taken care of, this is where you want to get married.

The Historic Dallas Jail Weddings & Special Events was the first venue we saw and it was such an easy yes. Their communication style was swift, kind, and encouraging throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is very spacious with a great vintage feel, and the staff helped with everything on the day of our wedding, making sure we had zero pressure so we could just enjoy ourselves. Our guests had an amazing time at this 10/10 venue!

What a cool venue - it is an old jail house with so much history and an incredible amount of charm! The staff is really detail oriented and attentive. The road in front also adds animation as we got many happy 'congratulations' honks from passers by. We had a lovely time there both during the daytime as well as after sunset when they made the space feel extra cozy and even more charming. Thank you all for having us and making our weekend so special!
