Available year-round. High Camp located on the mountaintop. This venue offers an incredible experience for you and your guests, and also has Lake Tahoe views! The North Star House was built during the age of the California Gold Rush as a home and business accommodation for the second largest producing mine in California. It was designed by Julia Morgan, the first licensed female architect in in the State. Her greatest claim to fame is the Hearst Castle. The House features a catering kitchen, lighted courtyard, open grassy areas, wooded views, a veranda overlooking the sunset and plenty of parking. We started the Chestnut Grove Event and Wedding Center in pastoral Brownsville California with the goal of providing premium service. Evidence of their presence can be viewed near the seasonal stream, where grinding rocks tell of food preparation. Our goal is to provide the best event we can to each client.
