About this venue

The North Star House was built during the age of the California Gold Rush as a home and business accommodation for the second largest producing mine in California. It was designed by Julia Morgan, the first licensed female architect in in the State. Her greatest claim to fame is the Hearst Castle. The House features a catering kitchen, lighted courtyard, open grassy areas, wooded views, a veranda overlooking the sunset and plenty of parking. We're only a couple miles from Downtown Grass Valley's accommodations, shops and nightlife. We allow for lots of flexibility in how you plan your day and you can bring your own vendors and beverages. Saturdays are $4200 for 10 hours onsite All other days are $3200 for 10 hours -byo vendors -two ready-rooms in the house -tables and chairs included

The North Star House

A stylish but inexpensive wedding venue for the ceremony or reception of your dreams

The furnished interior features hardwood floors, a beautiful living room, an elegant dining room, catering kitchen, two restrooms, and rooms for changing. The site contains ample parking with accessible walkways. You can say “I do” under the pergola in the courtyard, between the trees on the lawn, or with the house and stone terrace as a backdrop. Our terrace will offer you and your guests sweeping views of a Gold Country sunset.

Historic home, set among lawns and trees, with sunset view from the stone terrace. Spacious, furnished indoors for mixing and mingling during your wedding. Plenty of flexibility for planning your event. Certified catering kitchen. Ample on-site parking. ADA compliant; accessible walkways. Tables and chairs for up to 200 people included as a courtesy. Additional options: lighting over back lawn, added hours.
