We can not stress enough how much Julia impacted our wedding day. First, she has your back. She helped us keep calm and keep our timeline on track. Julia had a great sense of reading the room. She was by our side when we needed her. Second, we had a BLAST! Julia kept our energy UP (she's a Leo, if you know you know). She had both of us laughing, smiling, and overall happy. Even our bridal party and family LOVED Julia's professionalism and how she conducts group photos. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her and plan on using her in the future. She's seriously that good. Third, her photography style was exactly what we needed. She is super knowledgeable about poses, lighting, background, etc. She was honest and explained why she had us do certain pictures. I’m Julia - people always ask me how long I’ve been a photographer for and the cliché (but true) answer is for forever. I’ve walked through many alleys that led me to photographing weddings. I worked for the Field Museum photographing meteorites during my college years in Chicago, then worked as a freelancer in the automotive industry when I moved back to Michigan, and worked in a studio photographing everything from seniors to pets. It wasn’t until 5 years ago I decided I loved photographing weddings and couples. I feel like they’re all connected somehow. I'm lucky I found my niche and even luckier that I got to run with it.

“Where to begin? Finding Katy was truly one of the biggest blessings of our wedding process. It was very important to find a photographer who we felt had, and actively displayed, the ability to photograph in an inclusive, respectful and honest manner. We are an interfaith couple with family and friends who fall everywhere along the social, identity and religious spectrum. Once we found Katy, we were blown away by the love, care and diversity showcased in her portfolio. Upon meeting with her virtually, we were convinced that she was the right person. Katy is kind, understanding and VERY good at what she does. When it comes to the work, Katy was proactive without being pushy and really took to heart what we wanted out of our photos.
