“We had a fantastic time at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. We chose it for its seclusion and natural beauty, and even our local guests were wowed by the “hidden gem” we found. The best of the best: -we did our first look and private vows in the meadow, it gave us a scenic, private backdrop for a special moment. There was a hiker or two, but everyone was very respectful of the moment we were having! -staff is super kind and lovely, everyone I talked to treated us with kindness and excitement -they make it very easy to walk through all the paperwork and materials they need -they recently acquired their own tables and chairs and even helped with the floor plan! Less to rent. -they now have their own alcohol packages and I was thrilled that this was one less thing to juggle as we started planning. We just picked our package and our menu! -they did a great job coordinating with other vendors in terms of the timing of set up and tear down, and from our perspective, everything flowed very smoothly! Things to note if you’re considering: -you have to use one of their recommended caterers. We LOVED Nick at hazelnut catering. He is so nice and a seasoned PBG caterer -you have to rent a tent through Ambasssdor Tent Rentals for most wedding sizes. You’ll also need to rent your linens through there. -they don’t really have a waiting area for guests. We had a handful of guests that showed up generously early. Some snuck into the ceremony area and got in the way until one of the coordinators asked them to wait outside, and two elderly family members were let into the bridal suite by my dad so they had a place to sit until the gates officially unlocked. If the gate is locked, there’s not really anywhere for guests to sit down until they get in unless they walk across the parking lot to the welcome center. I would keep this in mind as you are planning day of logistics. -there are multiple add on packages, and I was skeptical, but they are worth it! The all inclusive package includes set up and tear down assistance, as well as cookie table set up (huge help for a big cookie table crowd). The s’mores and yard games provided an extra activity and was a hit among all ages.”

“My husband and I were from out of town and hired Sean to photograph us at a Christmas gala at the place we got married. He was accommodating to last minute changes to make the most of the session and even went above and beyond to make it happen. Upon first impression, he was upbeat and had a vision. We were outside in sub 30 degree weather with fading evening light as well as low light inside a building and he was up for the challenge. We ended up with beautiful images in less than ideal conditions and that is what makes a great photographer. Sean has a sense of humor and an eye for that perfect photograph. He was fun to work with and his heart for people and creativity shows through. Thank you Sean for capturing this time in our lives.”

“My husband and I hired Edgar (Anchor Studios) as our photographer for our wedding on July 7, 2024. He did an amazing job!! Since we started working with him for our engagement pictures up to the wedding and after, he has been great at communication and very professional. He went above and beyond by helping us create a timeline for our wedding because didn’t know how weddings usually go. He worked so hard on the day of our wedding to get the best shots, and was very kind and helped us a lot with organizing order of events. He had great ideas for poses and was very mindful to get all the pictures we wanted with family members and bridal party. And even better than all of this, when we got the pictures, they came out amazing!! It’s very clear that he put a lot of hard work into making them look incredible. He is a very talented and skilled photographer. We were blown away by how they turned out! We are very thankful for how hard he worked and how great he made the picture look! “I had an excellent experience working with Bloom and Grow Floral Design. Lily is a talented florist while being professional and efficient!! She met my budget and not only was I obsessed with my wedding florals, many of my guests commented on what a great job she did! She did 2 meadows (stunning) bouqets, bud vases, welcome floral and boutonniere. Her natural style is described as Garden Style, many different blooms, but I'm sure she could do any style you would want if you briefed her. My bouquet was pretty from all sides I didn't know which way to hold it, I rotated it throughout the day :) When I sold my floral pedestals on FB even strangers said how beautiful they were from the photos. In my case the florals were modern effortless chic and beautiful- not heavy, dated, formal like other styles can be. I do have a bit of vintage inspiration but mixed with modern and fresh- thanks to Lily helping achieve this! We did have the meadows on the pedestals for a more formal look that I loved as well. Lily listened and met my budget which stood out, since I had other florists waste my time with 30 min calls then sent quotes 2X my clearly-stated budget- they were not listening. Next! She asked great questions in our initial call, like what flowers I DIDN’T like, that stood out as a very smart question. As a designer myself I can be particular too. She was patient, open to email communication throughout, and guided me with her professionalism, even helping me with my candle layout to achieve my goal of a beautiful tablescape! Lily understood the position of the bride in the overall craziness wedding planning process, and reduced stress rather than added to it- again a standout among other vendors. I'd recommend Lily to any couple looking for a talented, professional florist who listens, understands her customers (so rare these days!) and delivers on what you ask for, and treats your wedding like it matters. “Can’t even begin to express just how AMAZING DJ Loyal and his team were for our wedding. Seriously. We aren’t exactly known for our ability to do anything in a timely manner. We got DJ loyal by pure luck as another couple had booked him and when they opted out of their venue contract we took their venue and by happen stance, their DJ. Hands down, the BEST purchase we made. Seriously, people still can’t stop talking about our wedding. Yes, the food was great and so was the venue but what truly made thus celebration so memorable by all was the DJ. My husband and I wanted a huge dance party with our friends and family. We got it and couldn’t be more thrilled. In tune with our lifestyle, Loyal and his team were patient and helpful when we didn’t have anything picked out and nothing input into a very simple system they give each of their customers to select some of the specific music we might like in accordance with our wedding timeline. Even though we basically didn’t have an outline done until four days before, no one would have known by the music because it was perfection. He embraced our idea of a more upbeat ceremony and continued to keep us on the dance floor the entire night. Seriously, we didn’t even get our late night bites because we were too busy on the dance floor! Additionally, The set up was great. Having people send pictures to the TVs so we can see all the photos and the music videos really set the stage for a long lasting fantastic party! The overall set up was extremely esthetically pleasing. It looked so clean and professional with the lighting really setting the mood for the night. Also, the photo booth was amazing. We still are cracking up laughing at all the photos. Including the ones with a wedding crasher. The dance floor photo booth is the way to go! Finally, the DANCERS. Kilian and Melissa were AMAZING. Seriously. We had a blast with them and so many of our friends kept telling us how great our two friends were at dancing lol. We cannot express how much we loved DJ loyal and his staff. From beginning end this company is amazing. Zero regrets. And keeping up with our pre-marriage lifestyle. This review was long overdue. September 24, 2022 was the best night of our lives and we are so happy this company was a HUGE part in making it our favorite memory.”

“I could not have asked for a better photographer in any respect. Maya is extremely communicative, warm, welcoming, and excellent at what they do. I was incredibly nervous selecting a photographer because I had no idea what I was doing. During my first meeting with Maya, they put me completely at ease and walked me through the process, their photography philosophy, figured out what my spouse and I would/wouldn’t like in our photos, and even helped us get a sense of how our day’s timeline would go. Since we planned the entire wedding ourselves, their help even from this first meeting was invaluable. Maya and their partner the day-of were an absolute blast to have at the event. Even the usual stiff family formal photos felt fun and organic with their guidance, and they were always up for impromptu shots and suggestions. They make sure that their work is organic, dynamic, and really captures the essence of the couple’s relationship. I asked them to use my Polaroid alongside their professional gear and they were really enthusiastic about the prospect, so now I have a set of excellent Polaroids in addition to their amazing high definition work. My spouse and I will absolutely be going back to Maya in the future for more photography. Some advice: Don’t waste your time shopping around with other photographers. If you’ve found Maya, you’ve found the perfect wedding photographer.”

We had a big, almost weeklong Indian wedding with multiple events, and Erin was one of the planners we interviewed and ultimately who we decided to work with. We greatly appreciated her insights throughout the planning process, especially as we were planning from another city and not on site. She had so many resources for us, including recommended vendors, planning checklists, and sample schedules. She helped us negotiate and review contracts with venues and vendors. Her team was especially helpful in the time leading up to the wedding and the wedding week. They were professional, organized, and timely. We had a snafu with one vendor, and Erin was extremely efficient in finding another backup at the last minute, kindly paying on our behalf on her own credit card to secure the vendor rather than worrying us in the middle of our event. She and her team kept what would otherwise be a chaotic weekend running smoothly and on schedule and even took the time to keep us well fed as the bride and groom, bringing us food and keeping some in our fridge for after the reception since we barely had time to eat in the midst of talking to our guests. The most pleasant surprise was her team arranging for the leftover cake to be served and the florals to be displayed at our brunch the morning after the reception, so the guests (and us) could enjoy them! Overall a great team and coordinator that helped make our wedding a success!!”

I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I first started photography in 2015 when I got my first camera in New York City. I started off with doing photos at concerts. I would start at local shows and eventually worked my way up to big shows. Now I love capturing people in their moment on their big day.

“Their communication style was poor, often accusatory and defensive when we tried to clarify details with Kelley. However, the value was great - they allowed our pup to be part of the ceremony, which was a special touch. But we had to get any promises from the coordinator, Kelley, in writing, as many things that were "included" in our initial meeting ended up costing extra. Overall, the lack of transparency and professionalism made planning more stressful than needed but overall the day went very well the ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast.”
