Meyer’s Castle is such a hidden gem—you’d never expect to find a place like this in the Midwest! I’ve had the chance to shoot two weddings here, and both times were such a dream. The venue itself is stunning and feels like a little escape from the everyday. But what really makes it stand out is the team. The staff is always so kind and helpful, especially Kate—not just with the couples, but with us vendors too, which honestly makes the day run so much smoother. I can’t wait for the next time I get to come back and create more magic within those castle walls. Forever a fan of this place.

The team at Chicory Event Center was absolutely amazing to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, the communication with Amy, the event manager, was easily accessible, prompt, and exceeded all of our expectations. She and the entire staff catered to our every need and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect. They decorated the entire event space beautifully, and the quality of their work and value was simply amazing. Amy was incredible from start to finish, and she exceeded every expectation we had. We loved the event space at The Brick and we knew Navarre would be great with the food but what really made our wedding amazing was the venue coordinator, DeAsarae. She went above and beyond for everything! Anything we had a question on, she gave us an answer immediately and was very patient. She was our “yes girl” and she followed through with everything. The Armory was absolutely the perfect venue for our August wedding. We got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was! Megan served as our coordinator and she was amazingly organized, detail-oriented, and quick to respond to any questions we had throughout the process. She was also very flexible, willing to accommodate to our preferences, and work within our budget. Table decor, food, drink packages are all included which made coordinating the reception very easy. The food is through Navarre Catering is delicious - lots of great options to choose from!

Fernwood really is a hidden gem. The grounds are beautiful and their rates very affordable! They were very responsive to my many questions, and very helpful on the day of our wedding. They even let us use an extra classroom for the groomsmen to get ready in. They were also really flexible. You can’t really go wrong here, and the garden itself can be your decor! We also left one item behind by accident which we were able to pick up a few days later. Lots of “areas” to choose from for your day, too. Only complaint was the poison Ivy growing along some of the pathways, which were already fairly narrow. We just used alternate paths and it was no big deal!

My husband and I got married at North Lake October 4th, 2025 and had the most beautiful backdrop to the day. North Lake was incredible to work with and were so accommodating. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the venue was. Dan really has put so much thought behind every detail from not having any curbs or steps making it incredibly handicap accessible to constantly making upgrades that only add to the experience. My husband and I are both huge baseball fans and we got married on a Cubs Brewers postseason game that started at 2pm. The tv in the groom's room was not working and Dan brought a tv from his own home and had it set up in time for the game. Any questions I had were promptly responded to by Danelle and she was so sweet and personable. If you're looking for a venue where you have the control of which vendors to work with while not missing out on the location and luxuries of an inclusive venue I'd highly recommend North Lake.

I can’t recommend a better venue! This venue was EVERYTHING! The owners, Brittany and Nick, are absolutely sweet and communicated promptly. The venue is family ran by having family doing different parts. The coordinator Lauren was the calmest ever and helped calm my nerves and handled all the issues without me even knowing. She and her team were amazing! Lauren helped give me the wedding of my dreams. This venue was perfect and the beautiful bridal suite is so spacious and beautiful! Also there’s an airbnb on property that me, my girls, and my mom stayed the night before (it can sleep 15 people). I could go on about my love for the venue and the caring people I’ve met that maintain the character and charm. If you want barn but also elegant…this is the venue for you!

I highly recommend William's Orchard as your venue if you're considering it. Throughout the wedding planning process the team was communicative and helpful. They were accommodating down to the last day before the wedding, helping our dream come to life. The team had great ideas too when it came to catering and small details that ultimately improved our guest experience. The venue itself is gorgeous and our guests had a blast. We're still getting compliments on the day. A nice touch was being able to have dinner in the orchard, a last minute decision we made that was recommended by the team and ultimately helped the day flow better. I can't recommend William's Orchard enough!

This place was GORGEOUS! It has beautiful outdoor ceremony sites, an amazing indoor reception spot that could have easily doubled as a ceremony site in the event of bad weather, his and hers silos, bathrooms, AND you can choose your own caterer (or do it yourself). They were so wonderfully accommodating and helpful…to the point where they were weed whacking the night of the rehearsal dinner to help us prepare the photo spots we needed. It was such a joy to have our wedding here!

The team, with along with 1928 Planning Co., handled everything so well, communicated so clearly, I now want to have a wedding every weekend. Getting to wake up and get ready for the day in the bridal suite was an absolute dream! The ambiance and vibes create a chill and laid back atmosphere, but we still had the classiness of a formal wedding, exactly what we wanted. It truly was the best party of our lives! Our wedding at Etre farms was absolutely perfect. The Etre team makes wedding plan a dream. I kept thinking to myself, "why am I not stressed yet..shouldn't I be stressed?" month over month ahead of our wedding day - but it's because they think of quite literally everything. Working with their team requires very little from the bridegroom to make your dreams and vision come true. This was especially important to use as we live in a different state and are on the go for work nearly every week. Of course you still need to offer input and share your general vision but they help walk you through details you may be unfamiliar with - we had a handful of meetings over the course of the year and everything we discussed was made a reality. When the wedding finally came, we couldn't have asked for a better day. From the hospitality throughout the getting ready period with our personal concierge and food/drinks provided, to the beautiful space they created with in-house florals (Nicole is amazing!), the best wedding food I've ever had (by far), the beautiful details and signage (shout out Elliana @ Brush Letter Boards) and Etre's amazing in-house DJ - our wedding guests were and still are raving. This review would go on and on if I tried to highlight all the little details this team thought of. We are genuinely sad the planning process is over because we loved meeting and talking with this team regularly - they are all very kind people - so easy to work with and operate like a well-oiled machine. I picked this location because of how beautiful the landscape is. So many different spots on the property to get married on, all beautiful. Different locations cost different price. Overall, relatively cheap compared to other venues. When talking to them, I first started with one wedding coordinator. She left and was informed about the new coordinator. She introduced herself and thought she was awesome. She was very tentative to all the details and was very helpful. I wasn’t informed that she had left and a new coordinator had taken her spot. I didn’t know there was a new coordinator until the day before the wedding. She didn’t take charge of anything. She took a back seat to everything. Told her I had a specific song I wanted to play for walking down the aisle. There wasn’t any sort practice with the song at the rehearsal. She couldn’t figure out how to connect my phone to the sound system. She couldn’t figure out how to navigate the song that I had already pulled up on my phone.
