“Julia was amazing! We were both nervous about getting photographed, but she made everything so easy. We first did an engagement shoot with her at Fabyan Forest Preserve in Geneva, IL, which is one of the places she recommended. During the shoot, she was very encouraging and upbeat, gave us a lot of pose ideas and options to find what felt natural to us, and really guided us through the whole thing! She was also flexible with us about going to another location nearby to take shots near where we got engaged. The photos we got from the shoot were faster than promised and we loved them all!
After a great experience with our engagement shoot, we were excited for the wedding day. Before the big day, we met together to plan out how the day would go so she was aware of everything in our schedule and vision. She was very conscious about how important the photographer is in how the day goes for the couple and wanted to make it as smooth as possible for us.
On the wedding day, she came over to our house for getting ready photos and had so many great ideas for how to capture everything. She was also joined by Francia who was just the sweetest and took film photography which came out so beautiful and artistic which was a touch we really loved! They were so kind to include our 10-year-old niece in some of their early test shots, which she was thrilled about. After the getting ready photos, we went to Peck Farm Park (another recommendation by Julia) to take some couple shots and family portraits. Her and Francia both continued to show up with great pose recommendations and a lot of moving shot pictures which turned out magical looking! We threw a lot at them with our long list of family/friend group pictures, but they were great at keeping up with it to get all the different combinations we wanted within schedule. After the main picture session, we headed to our venue, and they worked well with our small, intimate setup and captured all the best moments of our ceremony. After the ceremony, we walked through downtown Geneva on our way to our dinner location and they found some perfect spots for some final couple shots that also highlighted the feel of the area, which we love! Finally, we ended with some pictures during our dinner / small reception..
Throughout our wedding day, our families made comments to us several times about how great the photographers were, how much they loved working with them throughout the day, and how excited they were to see all the photos. Our whole album turned out truly amazing. We had a great experience working with Julia and Francia and can’t imagine having anyone else there to capture our day!
