Once we settled on the location and date, he maintained excellent communication in preparation to the event to properly flesh out the day’s timetable, day of logistics, and post. On the day of our wedding he expertly directed us and our families, using the natural lighting to capture the perfect shots. We would have been lost without him, especially since no one knew how to assist with bustling my dress. During our dinner reception he seamlessly directed restaurant staff to assist in transitioning between meals/dessert/toast for more amazing shots. After the wedding he kept us updated on next steps for our pictures. Randall is truly a gem and I would recommend him to anyone looking for someone special to capture their day.”

“We found Lulan Studios about nine months before our wedding day. We were immediately drawn in by their professionalism and their reputation. Lulan is an inclusive photographer who was very receptive to our wedding vision. He and his team were incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful all throughout the process. We elected to go with Lulan Wang himself for our photographer who worked with an associate. After our initial consultation we were turned over to Shannon who was our go to contact for day to day clarifications and vendor contact until Lulan took over just before the wedding. Shannon was immensely resourceful and responsive. She communicated with our coordinator very efficiently and was always on top of our booking. We are very grateful to her as well for making the process so easy and for continuing that communication after the fact. On the day, Lulan and his associate were spectacular. It was clear his associate had more than enough talent for the job just like Lulan, but they divided and concurred by using two different types of cameras for different types of shots. We regret not doing an engagement session with them, but we will likely return for an Anniversary session in the future. We didn’t even need one though, because he is skilled enough that he understood us as a couple immediately. They made us feel comfortable and confident. They hyped us up and moved through the shot list masterfully. Nothing was missed and we captured far more than we expected. Please look through our attached photos as they speak for themselves. One of the most exciting moments was when Lulan handed us a little blue book filled with about fifteen physically printed preview photos DURING THE RECEPTION. A lovely surprise that absolutely shocked me. Turnover was 4-6 weeks and we got ours just before the six week mark right on schedule. We were floored. They are jaw-dropping. We ultimately got 950 photos permanently digitally available for high resolution download and access to a shop with impressive options for prints and albums of a wide array of types and sizes. I’m thrilled to show them to you here and implore you to consider booking Lulan Studios. We trusted in their ability from the beginning and we were not disappointed. They are among if not the absolute best in the business.”

“We hired Dereck for an after-wedding celebration for our son and daughter-in-law and were very happy with the experience and the results. From start to finish, Dereck was professional, responsive, organized, flexible, and punctual. He scheduled prep meetings with me before the event and came fully prepared with backup cameras and batteries—including for drone footage—which was especially important since the couple arrived a bit later than expected. Everything ran smoothly and without stress. What sets Dereck apart, however, is his storytelling approach. He partners with a talented videographer to produce a beautifully edited five-minute montage that captures the essence of the evening. This isn't a music-only highlight reel—it thoughtfully weaves together background music with dubbed audio: excerpts from speeches, guest messages to the couple, laughter, and candid moments. The result was an emotionally rich snapshot of the night—far more meaningful (and watchable!) than the typical two- to five-hour video many videographers deliver. Dereck handled the golden hour and night-time lighting beautifully. These included candid guest shots, posed and portrait photos, and lovely images of the couple alone. His fees were very reasonable, especially when compared to other “content creators” we considered who offered only iPhone footage and music at a similar price point. Dereck’s work was on an entirely different level. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and wholeheartedly recommend Dereck to anyone looking for a photographer who is not only technically skilled, but also an exceptional visual storyteller.”

Zyaire met with us over Zoom twice before the actual wedding, and took every one of our concerns and questions seriously. We also asked him to shoot our welcome party for guests, and he was able to oblige with that, as well. We first met him in person for the welcome party, and he was already there when we arrived, getting background shots of the venue. This was something we hadn’t even considered, but it was really valuable - having shots of the venue, and the venue for our wedding, helped put the other photos in context for people who weren’t able to attend, and gave us mementos of the locations themselves.”
