I took up photography at the ripe age of 11 with a Polaroid I borrowed from an aunt. It quickly became my sketchbook as I worked to capture stills of the world and people around me. Those images have continued to pay emotional dividends throughout my life, helping me better understand what I have now come to see through a new scope. They are grounding, melancholic, funny and beautiful. Some of my most cherished possessions.

Indigo West is a an organic, photojournalistic approach that honors the authentic candor of the moment. I aim to work with fun, minimal direction that taps into the natural dynamic of the couple and turns away from anything that feels forced or overly theatrical.

Wedding at Antler Basin Ranch in Colorado
Hiring Daniel was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! We couldn't be happier with how our photos turned out. Daniel was extremely professional and made us feel comfortable during our photo sessions resulting in natural, candid photos that perfectly captured our emotions throughout the day. He also made sure to capture all the photos on our request list. Would highly recommend working with Daniel!

Daniel is the best!
Daniel was truly incredible to work with from start to finish. I met with so many photographers before choosing him because I was very specific about what I wanted. I wasn’t looking for standard wedding photography. I wanted photos that felt cinematic, cool, and unique to us, and Daniel more than delivered. Our engagement shoot was SO much fun and immediately made us even more excited to have him there on our wedding day. He made us feel comfortable, kept everything easy and natural, and the photos were exactly the vibe I had been searching for. Then came the wedding day, and somehow he exceeded our expectations again. We had a pretty wild group of bridesmaids and groomsmen, and Daniel handled all of the chaos without missing a beat. He went with the energy, kept things moving, and genuinely seemed to be having fun right along with us. What stood out most, though, was how much Daniel actually cared. He never felt like someone who was simply there to take photos and leave. He cared about our day, our story, and capturing the moments that actually felt like us. That meant so much to both of us. I told him from the beginning that I didn’t want standard wedding photos. I wanted iconic wedding photos, and that is exactly what you get with Daniel. We couldn’t recommend him more.

Perfectly Captured Every Moment
If you are looking for a photographer in San Diego, look no further than Daniel. We first worked with him for our engagement photos and knew immediately we had to book him for our wedding. Daniel is incredibly friendly and professional, but what we loved most was his eye for candid moments. He captured the true essence of our day and all the little things that made it special. We are completely in love with our photos! One of the highlights was his film photography option—the care package he sent with the negatives, prints, and a handwritten card was such a beautiful, personal touch. It’s clear he truly cares about his clients. Working with him was an amazing experience from start to finish, and being able to book our videographer through him made the entire process seamless. If you are in the Southern California area, you will not be disappointed! Thank you so much, Daniel, for giving us memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

Amazing and Beautiful Wedding Photography!
Simone from Indigo West was the perfect photographer for our wedding. We first heard about Indigo West from our venue, and Simone had experience taking pictures at the venue for other weddings. From the initial consultation we knew that we were in excellent hands. Simone was warm, kind, and funny; we felt absolutely at ease having pictures taken of us throughout our wedding. His style also matched our venue beautifully and he made sure to highlight a lot of the features of the venue while also capturing beautiful moments throughout the day. Throughout the planning process Simone was easy to talk to; he was receptive to any ideas we had around particular moments we wanted captured and we shared our Pinterest board with him for additional inspiration. He also provided us with a comprehensive questionnaire before the wedding so we could finalize our shot list and we had a meeting a few weeks before the wedding to finalize additional details. On the day of the wedding he seamlessly captured moments throughout the day, so much so that we did not even notice him capturing them. It was also an excellent mix of candid and stylized. We just recently got the full collection and we were so moved by all of the pictures, because it really captured the emotions, movement, and energy throughout the day. We really are so grateful and lucky to have had him as our photographer on such a special day.

Wedding photography dream come true
Choosing Daniel from Indigo West as our wedding photographer was hands down one of the best decisions we made. From our first conversation, we loved his calm, thoughtful demeanor and his organic, artistic approach to capturing the day. His eye for composition and detail is exceptional and the photos truly tell a story. As a same-sex couple, we wanted someone who could move beyond traditional wedding clichés, capture the grandeur of our museum venue (complete with dinosaur skeletons) while making it feel intimate, and handle dark, dramatic spaces. Daniel did all of that and more. He captured the energy, emotion, laughter, and joy of the day beautifully. Daniel was efficient but never rushed. He was professional yet playful, and it felt like he immediately understood our dynamic as a couple and with our guests. We trusted his vision completely, and it absolutely shows in the photos. Most importantly, Daniel brought such a fun, relaxed energy—it never felt like he was just doing a job. We can’t recommend him enough.
