How long have you been in business

Tom started LA Digital Photo in 2003 and has been a full time photographer since then with a couple times where he returned to retail working for Target as a store manager, Lens Crafters as a store manager and most recently as a specialist at Apple. His team has been with him as well on and off over the years with no one with less than 10 years with us and we are all back for 2025!

Question 2

How many edited photos will I receive?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the length of the event, but on average Tom provides 200-300 images per hour on most weddings. All are edited and all are giving in 10 days or less.

Question 3

Do you do videography?

Accepted Answer

Yes we have two amazing videographers with us. Christian and Julian are exceptional at their craft. Turnaround time is approximately 2 months from event date. And yes we also give you all the RAW captured video as well. Most charge a small fortune to get that!

Question 4

Do you have event insurance? Our venue requires it.

Accepted Answer

Yes we do. Most often we can send them the proof of insurance directly to them. Others require us to have them named as the beneficiaries of our coverage. If this is the case we ask for a $25 fee to cover that rewriting of our policy.

Question 5

Do you have back ups if you are unable to cover our wedding?

In 23 years this has only happened 2 times. Yep 2 in over 1200 captured events. For both events we had one of our team cover these couples.

Question 6

What is editing?

Accepted Answer

For photography we color correct and make other adjustments to make your photos look consistent as possible from beginning to the end. Other adjustments include black and white levels, brightness/exposure and the like. If you need photoshop work completed for something like a stray hair, we will also do this on a handful of key images at no charge. Extensive PS work like acne or scars etc., are done at a rate of $30/image. This is not common. If you have specific concerns about your look or weight etc. please contact us before hand. Our job is to capture your day, not make you look like someone else. :)

When should we book you?

If we are available and you are interested in booking us, book ASAP. We will not hold a date without a deposit and a contract. Our event calendar is open to no less than 6 venues who can see which of us are available and we very often get text messages booking us with little or no warning. Our bookings go out as far as 16 months.

Question 8

Where are you based? Travel fees?

LA Digital Photo is based on Pasadena, CA. We do have our team spread out from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Tom does not charge a travel fee from San Diego to San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield. For events outside this area please contact us. Yes we do travel outside this area and outside California. One of our team is also now living in Ohio so we can cover events back east as well.

Question 9

Will you edit all our pictures?

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.

Question 10

How long will it take to see our pictures?

Accepted Answer

For photography it is 10 days or less for Tom. For his team it is generally under 14-20 days. An online gallery will be made and hosted for you for 2 years where you can view, download, share and print your photos. You may also print your files anywhere else you like without restrictions. WE DO NOT WATERMARK YOUR FILES! For videography it is approximately 2 months.
