Following that, it was Paul’s Hotel, and eventually also served as a boarding house. Then, for nearly 70 years it was a convent run by the Sisters of St. Joseph Order. It was also a christian school. From our first conversation and tour with Darien at Stage House Inn, we knew we had found my bridal shower venue. He answered every question we had during planning and was even there to help us set up the morning of my bridal shower. The space is absolutely beautiful, charming and updated, and the entire team showed up as kind, professional, and proactive. They even took care of little details without us asking—like putting my bouquet in a vase with water and making sure we felt taken care of throughout the entire day. Cheryl and the rest of the event staff were so friendly and they even offered to donate our leftover flowers to a local nursing home for us - so thoughtful. The food and drinks were delicious, and I could not recommend Stage House Inn enough to other brides looking for a shower venue.

Our site, facilities, and setting match almost any wedding venue in the northeast, and our food and customer service is outstanding.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Full catering menu to choose from
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible

  • Best for events with big guest lists
Choosing Camp Cody as our wedding venue was a huge decision and an excellent choice. Anna was so helpful throughout the process, and Dora was amazing weekend of–I never saw her standing still. The venue is so gorgeous, and being able to host our friends and family for a whole weekend made everything go by more slowly, with plenty of opportunities to connect with everyone. The Capture the Flag game we held morning of was a big highlight. The food was INCREDIBLE, and our guests haven’t stopped commenting on it. Everyone says you don’t eat at your wedding, and you better believe that was not true for us. As a person with a lot of food allergies, I’ve never felt more cared for and accommodated, and it was amazing to have that for our guests as well. In one notable moment, my cousin with celiac jumped with joy at the prospect of having gluten free pancakes and french toast for breakfast. The accommodations were comfortable, even in 30-40 degree temps overnight, the heat really works! Staying on site and not having to run around everywhere looking for everything and everyone made a big difference as someone without a planner. Also, arranging folks in cabins was not as stressful as we expected it to be. With our smaller wedding, we had plenty of space to spread people out. Thank you again to White Mountain Weddings for an amazing weekend!

Based on previous reviews of weddings at the Colony, we lowered our expectations for wedding day but stuck with the venue as it is stunning, large enough for all of our guests, and in our preferred location of Kennebunkport. Our wedding exceeded expectations and was PERFECT, other than the cloudy day. Nicole is the best! Since we started planning over a year ago, there have been three different wedding coordinators at the Colony and we are SO grateful that Nicole was the one with us in the final months and on our day. She really executed every little detail of our day to make it perfect. Nicole provided such great insight and recommendations, a testament to her years of experience. The Colony is lucky to have her! Of course we could not have had such an amazing wedding weekend without the wonderful staff at the Colony. We are seriously blown away by all of the hotel staff and the staff on the day of, they were extremely prompt, professional, and helpful to make our vision come alive and stick to our requested timeline. The chef and kitchen staff were able to serve 190 entrees in 20 minutes, incredible! The food was also delicious, we received several compliments about the appetizers, entrees, late night food, and morning after breakfast. Most of our guests stayed at the Colony and found the rooms lovely and comfortable. The new Coveside rooms provided a great option for guests seeking more modern accommodations.

Heidi was the most helpful during the planning process. She answered any and all questions I had about the space and logistics. She was professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. Matt was amazing on the day of the wedding. He made sure the ceremony and reception went smoothly. He even drove my husband, myself, and our photographer back down the mountain after the ceremony in his own car! He continually checked in with me and made the day much easier. Now for the space itself - we were immediately blown away by the King Pine ceremony location at the top of a mountain overlooking the beautiful lake. We got to take the ski lift up to the ceremony with our guests and I know those will be unforgettable pictures! Our reception was tented at king pine field and everyone raved about the whole thing from start to finish. We spent our time canoeing and kayaking with our dog and spending time with our friends and family. I can’t recommend having your wedding at Purity Spring enough!

We got married at Wentworth by the sea hotel & spa in October 2025! We looked at quite a few places before deciding on this venue! I can honestly tell future brides that it was the BEST choice we have ever made! Catherine who was the manager took care of EVERYTHING for us, helped up go step by step and was able to make a very stressful time seem easy! They connect you with a bunch of vendors through them that you can use for invitations, florals, and cake! Every single vendor was reliable and easy to work with, and everything that they worked on came out amazing! I was so happy we used them all! One of the highlights of picking the Wentworth was the amazing bridal suite that you can get for the entire day, we were able to do hair and makeup in it! (no other place we toured would let me do makeup in the bridal suite) & they brought in food and drinks and you had a personal attendant helping you the entire day! We had our ceremony on the back lawn which was set up for fall and used the dock for photos by the water they came out stunning! Catherine and the team did an INCREDIBLE job setting up the ballroom, I gasped when I walked inside it was so stunning! We decided to drape the entire room and it was a wonderful choice it really added to the elegance! They took care of everything behind the scenes and I honestly don't think I had to worry about a single thing the day of. Everything went perfectly according to plan! The food was also incredible! My guests still talk about it! They also saved us appetizers from cocktail hour, and brought us up dessert to our hotel room that we didn't get to eat! They thought of everything under the sun and made sure it was a perfect day! I cannot say enough good things about Catherine and her team! If you are looking for a venue that is classy and timeless and you want a team that will make your day go perfectly have your wedding at Wentworth by the sea hotel and spa! Thank you Catherine and all of the incredible staff at Wentworth! You guys are the best!

The Victoria Inn and Pavilion was the perfect wedding venue for us. From the very beginning, their communication style was timely, thorough, and flexible - they worked with us every step of the way to ensure our special day was exactly how we envisioned it. The quality of their work and overall value was truly exceptional - the venue was elegant, affordable, and had a classic, timeless feel. They were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to mix and match our experience to meet our specific needs, including being flexible on catering. We also had the option to rent out the inn for the weekend, which we opted out of, but would have been perfect for a larger group. AK, the venue coordinator, was a pleasure to work with and made sure we were able to meet all of our requests without breaking the bank. If you're looking for an affordable wedding space that doesn't compromise on elegance, we highly recommend The Victoria Inn and Pavilion.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel. From start to finish, the entire team made our wedding weekend absolutely seamless, beautiful, and stress-free. A huge and heartfelt thank you to Lindsay Plantier, the Hotel’s Catering Sales Manager and our wedding coordinator. Lindsay was extraordinary—accommodating every last-minute change, working with our budget, and helping us customize the perfect dream wedding. On the wedding day itself, we were completely hands-off and everything ran with incredible professionalism. We received so many compliments from guests who noticed how organized, smooth, and well-run the entire event was. The staff throughout the hotel deserves major recognition. From check-in to check-out, we felt truly cared for. The front desk team was warm and attentive, and even the waitress assigned to us at our reception went above and beyond—checking in throughout the evening to make sure I ate, stayed hydrated, and could be fully present with our guests. Every single employee we encountered was kind, professional, and clearly part of a well-oiled, highly coordinated team. The ballroom itself was stunning. We didn’t have to purchase any extra décor besides a few bud vases we chose to add. The hotel provided linens, table numbers, candles, charger plates and more at no additional cost. The room looked polished, elegant, and absolutely beautiful! We also loved that our package included a farewell brunch at the Top of the East, which was gorgeous during the day and at night. We invited guests to "meet us at the Top of the East" after our reception to serve as an after party for those not ready to tuck in for the night. Guests raved about both the daytime ocean views and the nighttime skyline. The convenience of having everything under one roof was priceless. Our guests appreciated being able to park once and enjoy the entire weekend in one place. We were married at the church directly across the street, making it incredibly easy for everyone to move between events safely and comfortably. Choosing the Westin Portland Harborview was one of the best decisions we made. The venue, the service, the staff, and especially Lindsay created a wedding weekend that exceeded every expectation. We are so grateful and would recommend this venue wholeheartedly to any couple looking for a beautiful, expertly managed, guest-friendly wedding experience.

It’s impossible to write a review that’s worthy of this venue and this team. From day one Lynn and Cassie were SO helpful. Any question I had was answered in a few hours with detail. Ceremony arbor, all tables and chairs, Table cloths, chargers, all dinner wear are included with the venue- napkins and decor is all you have to provide (rare and saves you thousands of dollars) - also set up and cleaned up for you. You are only required to set up your decorations. And at the end of the night they clean up and set everything that’s yours in one spot for an easy pickup the next day.  Cassie (day of coordinator) made the planning process seamless and somehow fun. She helps the couples through the entire process and relieves stress anywhere she can. (And I mean as far as even reaching out to vendors on our behalf)  Their preferred vendors list is TOP TIER- like seriously look no further. They do this every weekend and see what vendors are professional and organized. It made all the difference for us. - I would like to note that we choose our own videographer and photographer and it was an easy and smooth process to get them “approved” - I put this in quotes because truly they are just ensuring they are licensed (duh!! This is a business after all no one can be mad they require this)  - The venue is organized and they know exactly what is needed to make it as easy as possible for the couple.   We were welcomed warmly to the inn - which felt like home for the weekend. (For those of you that have stayed in a high end bnb it’s similar vibes!) the staff was incredible and gave us our space and would only check in to see if we needed anything, (or more mimosas ;) ) -breakfast was provided from the inn and  we were able to bring in lunch that day from Hannaford for our vendors and party! Venue does require a stop to the music at 9:30 but they were not pushing people out and let people say goodbye and grab the shuttle Cassie ensured rehearsal and the day of went perfect and everything was timely throughout the whole night. *note Cassie is not your wedding planner!!! She’s there to help you throughout the process and make your life easier, not plan your wedding for you Lynn & Matt made sure anything we needed for our stay at the inn / anything venue related was done for us immediately.     One last thing to note- do not let the “strict” rules reviews deter you. We toured 15 venues. Unless the venue was brand new and still getting their footing, or a very casual venue -  they all had rules and regulations. It’s really just to protect you and your guests. Respect the venue, and they will respect you.    You will not regret choosing this venue I promise !!!! It was easily the best day of our lives.

Cardigan Lodge is THE place if you want to spend quality time with your people on your wedding day. We had guests come up Friday afternoon and they stayed through Sunday morning which allowed us to meaningfully connect with each of our guests. A favorite moment was early Saturday morning drinking coffee and puzzling by the fireplace before the commotion of wedding day began. Every meal was excellent and accommodated a large variety of dietary restrictions. The AMC staff was happy to help and executed each task we asked of them with care and attention to detail. Carter (business manager) and Skye (lodge manager) were excellent to work with. They were responsive to our questions and set expectations for what the AMC would provide vs. what we would need to coordinate from the start. For us, the lodge was a blank slate and, with the AMC's help, we made my lofty vision a reality. But really, Cardigan Lodge is beautiful as is and the mountains and forest provide a stunning backdrop on their own. My husband and I cannot recommend Cardigan Lodge enough, we wouldn't change a single detail if we had to do it over again. photography - Erica Warren Photography florist - Mountain Roots Farm

My husband and I got married at Lake Shore Village Resort in May 2025, and it was the wedding weekend of our dreams. If you want a venue where everyone can stay together, relax, and celebrate in one beautiful lakeside location, LSVR is it. We wanted a camp-style but elevated experience, and LSVR delivered beyond expectations. Marissa, our coordinator, was amazing: organized, calm, and on top of every detail. Even when rain forced us to move our ceremony into the tent (along with all the other May/June Saturday brides in New England), she and the team handled it flawlessly and the ceremony and reception ended up feeling incredibly intimate and special. We had 130 guests on-site for three days of pickleball tournaments, a pizza welcome party, kayaking, volleyball, and an after-party bonfire (thanks to Leif, who kept the fire going all night). The farewell pancake breakfast hosted by Michael and his wife was the perfect ending to the weekend. We cannot recommend this venue or team enough. Our guests are still talking about it and so are we. Thank you Marissa and LSVR!! We can't wait to come back one day!

When my husband and I were looking for venues in our home state of Maine we happened upon the Greenwood Manor Inn during our lengthy search. The photos we saw online were so charming and it looked like a place we could picture ourselves getting married. When we arrived for our tour we met with Jill, who is truly sunshine in human form. She is one of the kindest people, and her personality is absolutely infectious. I won’t lie Jill, you were one of the big reasons we decided to get married at the Inn! On top of her amazing personality, she can truly do it all! She connected us with a florist and a photographer that we used, provided us with a whole list of other vendors, baked all of our cupcakes, and prepared all of the appetizers for cocktail hour! Her cooking and baking are absolutely out of this world by the way, breakfast at the inn was incredible every morning we stayed there! Fast forward to wedding weekend, we were able to book the whole inn for the weekend with all of our wedding party guests. Jill and Joe made sure everything anybody needed was taken care of so quickly. The rooms are absolutely adorable, and the suites for us to get ready in were HUGE and could fit all the bridesmaids for hair/makeup/getting dressed with no issues. There were always fresh cookies in the lobby that were demolished by all of us multiple times, and we would leave for a few minutes and there would magically be more! (Thanks Jill!). The day before our wedding we realized that our tent wouldn’t be big enough to fit our caterers, and Jill’s sister was kind enough to let us borrow some of her tents to cover the caterers so they wouldn’t be in the hot sun. We also forgot an easel for our seating chart, and Jill and Joe magically had one for us to use! Joe handled the bartending for our reception and even picked wild Maine blueberries to use for our blueberry margarita signature drink. Needless to say it was absolutely delicious and wildly popular with our guests! I truly cannot rave enough about the Greenwood manor inn. Our wedding day was better than I could have ever dreamed it would be, and it was in big part to Jill, Joe, and company. Including Cocoa and Spice, the resident furry friends who were the cherry on top. We can’t wait to come back in a few years to visit and remember our big day spent at the Greenwood Manor Inn. Truly cannot recommend it enough!

We had our wedding at the Inn at Pleasant Lake in Sept 2024. The day couldn’t have been more perfect and it was mostly thanks to the fabulous and attentive staff at the inn. The location is beautiful and serene, grounds were immaculate and they remembered every detail that we asked for. Kate was one of the biggest reasons we chose to have our wedding there. She is thoughtful, never pushy or rushed, detail oriented and responsive. Our guests raved about the food at each event (rehearsal, wedding and brunch) and having access to the full Inn and grounds made for a relaxing weekend getaway for our families and us. I only wish we could do it all over again!
