About this venue

Stage House Inn is a stately and elegant wedding venue. The property offers 20 unique guest rooms, private function spaces, and Dufour, an on-site award-winning restaurant and bar. The venue offers plenty of historical charm and Maine-style hospitality. The Stage House Inn specializes in hosting private events. These include micro weddings (for up to 70 guests), showers, corporate events, holiday parties, baptism celebrations, funeral receptions, celebrations of life, and other events for 25-150 guests. Since the late 1700s, the structure that now houses Stage House Inn and Dufour has served many purposes. From a private residence, it soon became a stagecoach stop where visitors would stop to eat and lodge at Frost Tavern. Following that, it was Paul’s Hotel, and eventually also served as a boarding house. Then, for nearly 70 years it was a convent run by the Sisters of St. Joseph Order. It was also a christian school.     The Stage House Inn was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the beginning, their communication was excellent and timely, with Darien always available to answer our questions and ensure our planning went smoothly. The venue itself was truly intimate and unique, providing an exceptional space and service that made our special day all the more memorable. Darien was attentive and helped make our dreams a reality, going above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect.     The staff at Stage House Inn made our wedding go so smoothly, from the fast, effective, and easy communication to the gorgeous, clean, and homey event spaces. The team was incredibly attentive and flexible, ensuring everything went perfectly - from our rehearsal dinner to the transportation on our wedding day. I have no complaints and can't wait to go back for a stay there soon!

    I had my engagement party here after hearing a recommendation on facebook, and I have to say I couldn’t have been happier. I had never booked an event before, let alone for myself, and Darien was so kind and patient with me. He walked me through everything and gave me really helpful suggestions. The space was ABSOLUTELY beautiful, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The food was sooo delicious, and there were a lot of different options for us to choose from. We had a few guests who are celiac and we felt confident that they would be able to eat without any problems. They loved the food too! We also picked a couple of drinks from their specialty drink list and they were so yummy too, the guests loved the south of the border lemonade the best! We loved it so much we decided to book our micro wedding there! We bought out the full venue, and used all of the rooms they have, plus rented out the house nearby (neally house). The rooms were clean and restored to look modern, but still had a historical touch. The micro wedding was just as great. We got married on the front lawn at the neally house and our guests just walked over to Dufour after. Everyone had such a wonderful evening. We really couldn’t have done any of it without Darien. Beautiful place, and wonderful staff. Highly recommend!
