About this venue

The Press Hotel, Autograph Collection, is the magnificent rebirth of the historic Portland Press Herald building. Opened in 2015, this award-winning, independent boutique hotel pays homage to its journalism past, creating an inspiring backdrop for your "Beyond Words" celebration. Situated in the heart of the Old Port, the venue offers luxury accommodations within 110 uniquely styled rooms and suites. Our passionate events team is dedicated to styling your most memorable moments. We offer customizable art-inspired spaces and exceptional cuisine from UNION restaurant, specializing in "altogether local" Maine cuisine.

Penthouse Suite

The 1,100-square-foot Penthouse Suite is also known as the Royal Suite.

Paying homage to The Royal Typewriter Company that was founded in 1904, it is outfitted with a Royal typewriter from 1925. May your spirits rise as high as the towering ten-foot-tall ceilings above you. The open-space design features a kitchenette, wet bar, dining room, living room, and elevated fireplace. There’s 1,100 square feet of suite to fall in love with.

    Haly at The Press Hotel was so helpful in helping us to plan our wedding reception celebration. The space was outfitted for our needs, and she ensured all our food and drink requests were accommodated for, incuding bringing in late night pizza from an outside vendor. They managed the set up and clean up of the space. Her team was fun and kind who worked the event too and everything went smoothly. The space was so unique splitting up into multiple spaces, many of our guests commented on how much they loved it. Can't recommend it enough for your next celebration!
