The Kemp (1300 Lamar Street) was built in 1917 at the request of Flora Kemp who, when asked by her husband Joseph what she would like for her birthday, suggested a public library. Several years ago we had purchased some property with a run-down old barn on it. As we restored the old barn we had several people ask if they could rent it for their upcoming wedding. The barn had no bathrooms, no parking, and a dirt floor - so we graciously declined but the seed had been planted. We love building + design, we’re dreamers at heart, and we genuinely love people and their stories. After leaving our daily jobs in ministry we ventured out to find the perfect 20 acres to build our dream on. Built from the ground up, designed with you and your families in mind, and always with the thought in the back of our minds, “We want to be more than just a wedding venue.”
