Cathedral

5.0

Seattle, WA
  • Up to 80 guests
  • Limited services
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $2,200

We believe that people see the problems our world faces and have the desire to help, but often don’t know where to start. So we started Cathedral with one goal in mind — to build something that’s the sole purpose of existing was to make this world of ours a more just and beautiful place. Building things that matter takes time. Cathedrals took generations to build — those who began the work didn’t see its completion. The architect who drew up the plans would never see their spires rise. The mason laying the bricks would never stand under their cover.

Cathedral is a special place for many reasons. As a wedding planner, I love working at Cathedral because the space is gorgeous, the staff are efficient, and it's location in Historic Ballard cannot be beat. The heart behind Cathedral, however, is what puts it above others. Yes, they donate rental space and proceeds. And yes, they employ underrepresented youth. But it's more than that and it's hard to describe unless you've experienced it yourself. Every staff interaction I've had at Cathedral has been absolutely lovely, done with intention, and you can just tell they truly care. Couple that with the venue's atmospherics: brick walls, exposed steel beams, and a hundred candles lit... this place is magical. And you'll feel that magic from the start of your planning process, all the way through the event itself.

The 101 is a unique venue, it is a blank canvas that can be designed to be anything you desire. Not many venues in Seattle have this flexibility. With its brick walls, beams and wood pillars, it has personality, but when you add your own style and flair- it has the ability to transform to greatness! Ease of load-in, great staff and flexibility is what I love about this venue. They have been terrific at sharing my offerings with their client base booking events. If there was a way for me to leave a 10-star review, I would!!! We got married at Georgetown Ballroom and the entire experience from Day 1 has been nothing short of spectacular. From the very first email we sent, we were partnered with Nancy Neyhart to help us execute our perfect wedding, and she went above and beyond. Her commitment to service, communication, kindness, and honesty were so helpful as we planned our wedding. We loved having a single person throughout the almost year-long process that we could rely on and build a relationship with. The venue itself is spectacular. It was colorful, spacious, bright, and funky, all perfect for a March wedding in Seattle where rain was always in the cards. We were able to visit several times, including an impromptu walk-through with our parents to show them the space long before our wedding day. A lot of other venues we looked at would have charged for an extra run-through, but Nancy was so welcoming and even gave our parents the same magical tour she gave us. We also got to visit for a menu tasting which was a fun evening that we turned into a date night. Catering was included in the booking, and the food was fabulous! We went with a taco bar and our guests raved about how different and fun our food was to the average wedding. The price was absolutely fair and in-line with caterers we had been researching before booking the venue. It never felt like GTB was nickel-and-diming us. Every decision was ours to make, with no hidden charges or fees. With Nancy's help, we were able to create the perfect wedding for our budget, our vision, and our guests. We will be singing the praises of this venue for the rest of our lives! Thank you thank you thank you, Nancy and team. You exceeded our expectations in every possible way.

Imperia Lake Union

5.0

Seattle, WA
  • Up to 185 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

Imperia Lake Union is situated in former historic Lake Union Café, originally built in 1927 and converted to an event venue over 20 years ago. A 6,000 square foot private event space overlooking Lake Union from the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle, Imperia features 10-foot chandeliers, copper ceilings, a built-in dance floor, gourmet menus, premium florals, incredible staff, and so much more. With a Roaring 20’s Art-Deco vibe and a rumored history of being a prohibition-era speakeasy, you’ll be transported into living history and a classic elegance when you host your event with us.

Imperia Lake Union was a dream to work with as the bride and groom. They planned out everything and kept things very easy for us. The communication was always prompt and clear. On the day of the wedding, they handled setting up and coordinating. The day was magical and flawless because of the staffs hard work. Not to mention the venue space is so beautiful and our pictures are stunning due to the swanky candle-lit background. Would highly recommend this venue for any event, but especially a wedding. It is dreamy!

The Ruins

5.0

Seattle, WA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Limited services
  • Indoor & outdoor

The Ruins is a whimsical venue hidden in plain sight, in the heart of Seattle’s Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. For several decades, the Ruins was known as Seattle’s best kept secret, hosting private dinners and wild parties for its members. The Ruins boasts a maximalist aesthetic and is full of surprises big and small, including an antique life-size animatronic elephant built in 1931 for the Paris World Exhibition. The Ruins has a unique ability to take guests to another time and place, making them forget what lies on the outside. This makes it the perfect backdrop for imaginative parties where no idea is too crazy.

The Ruins is like someone took all the cool bits of Seattle, threw in a dash of vintage Europe, and turned it into a wedding venue. From the get-go, the place just oozes personality. You've got walls with hand-painted murals that could have been lifted from a storybook – I’m talking vibrant colors, whimsical scenes, the works. And antlers. And trees indoors. Each room in The Ruins has its own thing going on. One feels like a swanky 1920s lounge, another like a secret garden. We had space to spare, so people could either kick back in a cozy corner or hit the dance floor without stepping on toes. The décor is this wild combo of eclectic and classic – it's like your great aunt’s house if she had more money than cigarettes and if she collected stuff from around the globe and had a killer eye for design. The library is amazing – shelves lined with books, a fireplace that makes you want to curl up with a novel, and this epic swooning couch. So, I might’ve taken inspiration from George Costanza – yep, I did a topless photo shoot on that couch. It was all in good fun, and the photos are a riot – a keepsake that breaks the mold of typical wedding seriousness, just like The Ruins itself. The food was great (but they let you bring in your own desserts so do so if you wanna save some money). The only, minor issue, is the bridal suite's location. It’s right by the kitchen, so it’s kinda like Grand Central at rush hour with the staff buzzing through. Note to brides: Swap it out for the library. Trust me, it’s much less busy (if darker) and you won’t have the kitchen hustle messing with your pre-walk-down-the-aisle zen. Honestly, The Ruins is the kind of place that’s perfect if you want a wedding that's a bit left of center but still super heartfelt. It’s quirky without trying too hard and intimate without being cramped. The whole day felt like us – not stuffy, just a big, fun, love-filled party. The Ruins has many nooks crammed with curiosities and corners begging for a photo op, it’s a place that feels alive. The mix of odd and elegant, the hand-painted walls that seem to whisper tales, the stuff like the enormous elephant (sadly, only in the back back room so only good for wedding photos not the guests) and the patterned horse and much more all adds up to a vibe that’s as unique as your weird cousin, the cool one, not the other one. The Ruins is like that one weird friend who's always got a story to tell and makes everything more fun. Having our wedding there was like a non-stop highlight reel – even with the bridal suite hiccup. It's a place for good vibes, great times, and amazing photos to start your weirdly ever after.
