Discovering the fascination of capturing moments through photos and videos, I swiftly pivoted my career focus towards photography and videography. Now, after 8 years, my lens has traversed the expanse of numerous weddings, countless music videos, and a diverse array of corporate and social media content all across the United States. It's been a journey of storytelling through the art of visuals.

Wedding videos are my favorite activity as a professional videographer - I love the "Heart" connection with all my wedding couples. Many couples remain part of my "Extended" family to this day, sending me pictures of their new family arrivals (baby pic's!), thank you notes and referrals to other friends and family members. My approach to wedding videos has changed dramatically over the past few years. I no longer pursue the $2,500 to $3,500 wedding gigs with 2-3 videographers and drones flying overhead. There are so many couples that want a beautiful video of their special day but do not have, or want to spend, thousands of dollars.

From commercial shoots with Amazon, to the orphanages of Haiti, I’ve seen and done a lot with my career…but the moments that stuck with me were always the ones that had purpose behind what we were capturing. Hoffland Films creates cinnematic wedding films ranging from 4 to 7 minutes in length. Each film is edited with as much storytelling audio from your wedding day as I can fit for your film to showcase you and your wedding day.

So here's the tea... I'm a wise-cracking, extroverted Capricorn who excels at corralling your rowdy family for photos and charming Aunt Carol, the self-deemed professional iPad photographer. Ever since I was little, huddled on the couch with my five siblings rewatching The Lion King, I knew that I wanted to be a storyteller. Growing up in a creative household, I studied a wide range of arts before settling on filmmaking. I envisioned in my head that I would be the next Spielberg, but after shooting my first wedding in 2013 all my plans changed.

originally from a small city in tennessee, at a ripe age of 17, i started this passion i now get to call my job. a few years into it i started shooting weddings and had no idea where life was going to take me. i went on to shoot weddings in the south for 3 years until I realized that the south wasn't for me... so I moved to hawai'i! since the move, its been nothing short of incredible. from traveling across the world to shooting here on the island of oahu, i've loved every second!

I love capturing authentic moments. Some people may not be there years after your wedding and remembering them sharing the love that day is an important aspect of why I got into filming weddings. You can remember it through a photo but you get to re-live it through your video.

My goal is to create films that tell meaningful stories + make the moments that matter last forever! I’ve been creating wedding films since early 2020 + love the opportunity to make new friends + learn their stories + capture them in time forever!

Hey there, I'm Kel Madden, the creative force behind Belscope Films, a wedding videography venture I kicked off in 2016. We're all about capturing those beautiful love stories that make your heart skip a beat. Originally from the Caribbean, my passion for visual storytelling took root during my days at film school. After some time spent in Los Angeles, refining my skills in video post-production, I stumbled upon wedding videography in 2014. Fast forward to 2016, and I made the move to Tacoma, Washington, founding Belscope Films.

Without going into too much detail about how we got started filming weddings, we’d like to share why we continue to capture weddings. The short answer: They’re fun! Feeding off the energy that takes place during a wedding is such a rush. We thrive off it, and the realization that we’re doing something vital for you and your family. I am an intimate wedding and elopement filmmaker and photographer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I’m married to my life-long adventure partner, Josue (Sway for short), and we have a 2-year-old golden doodle, Murphy, who is our whole world. When I’m not creating art, I can be found tending to my enormous plant collection, catching up on the latest episode of This is Us, serving on my church worship team, or hanging at the dog park. I’m passionate about documenting the ‘in-between’ moments of life. I thrive on intimate, emotional moments and I feel it’s my purpose in life to preserve people’s stories through my art.
