About Fern & Film
Fern & Film
Wedding videography is the closest thing I've found to time travel. I'm there for the in-between moments - the dad's hands shaking on a necklace clasp, the quiet beat before the doors open, the first laugh at the reception table. I film alongside my sister Beth, and having family on set means the energy stays family. We've been building rapport with each other since we were kids, so we catch the shots other crews miss. My goal isn't to be the most expensive videographer. It's to be the most worth it. Let's make something you'll actually watch!
Most videography is two strangers with cameras trying to stay out of the way. We're a brother-sister team who have been reading each other since we were born (3 years & 1 day apart). We finish each other's setups, hand off shots without a word, and catch things other crews miss because we're not coordinating..we're just in sync. Guests stop noticing us about ten minutes in. That's when the real footage happens.

This is the unlimited package. Rehearsal dinner pics? Done. Interviews with family & bridal party? No problem. Need someone to film your out of town cousin doing his best cartwheel? We're in. Full ceremony /speech coverage at $250 additional per item. No limit on hours. If you want me on-site for 3 days, we are on it.

The wedding video of our dreams
Booking Alex was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We had a full three-day wedding weekend and he was attentive, caring, and locked in from start to finish. He took the time to understand the vision we were going for, but also brought great ideas of his own- especially around our outdoor Yosemite venue that had some unique character to it. He worked seamlessly with our photographer, delivering gorgeous candid shots of moments we will now never forget. He also took time to explain what was happening to our family and wedding party so everyone felt comfortable and understood their role, which made a huge difference in how natural everything looked. Alex was also a lively presence when the party was going, and a hype-man when needed! He read the room beautifully all weekend. Beyond the technical skill, what stood out most was how invested Alex was in us as a couple. He asked thoughtful questions during the interview portions and pulled details out of us we wouldn't have thought to share on our own. He felt less like a vendor and more like a true collaborator who genuinely cared about telling our story. He also got everything back to us in a really timely way, and the 24 hr sneak peek video made us cry!! He beautifully captured the weekend in a way we honestly could not have imagined being any better, and watching it back let us relive the moment all over again. If you want beautiful footage, raw emotion captured from your special day, and professionalism, Fern and Film is the way to go! Alex is not just talented, he is warm. We cannot recommend him enough! BEST VIDEOGRAPHER EVER!
Alexander and his sister Beth were the perfect duo for our wedding and will be for yours as well. They were communicative and easy to work with. Alex was very personable and felt like he could have been one of our wedding guests the way he was cracking jokes and kept the whole process feeling lighthearted, joyous, and stress free. He sent us a teaser and our video all within a quick timeframe and they were absolutely perfect! We definitely recommend them for your special day!!

Loved Working with Alex!
Alex was amazing for our San Francisco wedding! He captured everything from our hotel prep to the last dance at the reception. He handled all three locations like a pro - especially the gorgeous outdoor space and ballroom at the Conservatory at One Sansome. He got along great with our big wedding party (no small feat!) and stayed cool and friendly all day. Communication was on point before, during, and after the wedding, and he rolled with any changes without missing a beat. His technical abilities truly impressed us. The steady-cam footage was smooth and professional, while the drone shots added a stunning cinematic quality. We're obsessed with both our full wedding video and the shorter cut he made for social media. When I asked for a few tweaks, Alex jumped right on them with zero drama. What makes Alex special is how much he genuinely cares about getting your vision just right. If you want someone who's talented, easy to work with, and passionate about making your wedding video perfect - Alex is your guy! Highly recommend!

Alex and Beth were incredible to work with. They are friendly, professional, easy to talk to, respectful, chill, creative, trustworthy, fair-priced, and super talented at what they do. We are so happy we chose them to shoot the most important day of our lives. We even had them shoot our rehearsal dinner and are forever grateful for having those memories on film too. They made us feel comfortable at all times and most of the time, we forgot they were there. The staff where we had our reception also had great, positive things to say about working with them. My husband and I didn't really know what we wanted when it came to a wedding video but had complete faith they would produce something epic. Our sneak peak was given the very next day and we were truly blown away!!! It’s better than we could have ever imagined. We can’t wait to see the final product but all in all, couldn’t recommend them more. Working with Alex and Beth was worth every penny and then some!
