This venue allowed us the space to create a 70s basement. We loved being able to change the ceiling lighting. Bekkah our coordinator was the first person we talked to. The groom said yes to the venue, specifically for the groom’s suit. They had a great time in there before the wedding. Bekkah was on board with every idea we had, she truly allowed me to feel like I had the freedom to run with my ideas. She was so helpful with the set-up of the wedding and her presence really put everyone at ease. She paid attention to our color scheme and it was awesome to get the chair upgrade. She was organized with some great layouts and spread sheets that were even colored coded using the colors of the wedding! Being out of state and a majority of our meetings happening through zoom calls, she made sure I was always involved. Mckiah the banquet captain, seemed to be right there every time we needed anything. She was very attentive, always keeping our drinks full. The serving staff worked quickly and quietly. They were very efficient and discreet. The bartender was everyone’s favorite person. He was very kind by expressing his appreciation for being included with the “tiki” theme. He remembered people drinks and got them ready before they asked. The guard was also just a pleasant person to have around. He was approachable and seemed to enjoy talking to everyone. My brother had his wedding at the Ken Carl location in December of 2022 so we knew the food was going to be good. The family and guests had a lot of dietary restrictions. The vegan/gf peppers were fantastic and having so many salad options was a great way to help accommodate everyone’s dietary needs. The tortellini and the prime rib were tied for everyone’s favorite. However, as there was no prime rib left over, I think it has to be the winner. Bret and Chris, the chefs, did not disappoint. Elizabeth the DJ, truly set the vibe for our 70’s wedding. She found every specific song we asked and check in on us all night. She always made sure we were ready to move on to the next thing and double check to make sure we were all on the same page. Once Tom from Love & Lense, heard about our wedding theme, he was completely on board. Chelsea stopped by the venue early, where she took pictures of each individual table decoration because each setup was different. They were great to have around all evening. They paid attention to my Pinterest board and made sure to incorporate pictures that I had asked for. We won a portrait during the food tasting extravaganza, which was very exciting. I can’t wait to see how all the pictures turn out.

Our wedding at Wedgewood Weddings at The Willows in Pine, Colorado was absolutely perfect from start to finish. When we began venue hunting, The Willows was our very first stop — and it ended up being our last. We had three other tours scheduled that day, but the moment we stepped onto the property and met the team, we were completely sold. The venue’s breathtaking beauty, combined with the warmth and professionalism of the staff, made it clear that this was exactly where we wanted to say “I do.” The planning process was unbelievably easy and completely stress-free. I felt so confident that everything was being handled, which allowed me to truly enjoy the journey leading up to the big day. On our wedding day, every detail came together beautifully, and our guests could not stop raving about how stunning the venue was, how amazing the food tasted, and how smoothly everything ran. The food was phenomenal — so many guests told us it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had. The included vendors Wedgewood works with were equally incredible. Our officiant delivered a heartfelt, memorable ceremony, and Cakes Amore made the most delicious carrot cake we’ve ever had — it was a huge hit with everyone! A heartfelt thank you to the amazing Wedgewood team who went above and beyond for us: • Caryn, our wonderful coordinator, who made sure everything ran flawlessly and let us simply enjoy every moment. • Aiden, our attentive banquet captain, who ensured every detail was perfect. • Kyle, our friendly and caring server, who made our guests feel so well looked after. • Sebastian, who worked behind the scenes in prep to make sure everything was perfect. • Christy, our fantastic bartender, who kept drinks flowing and everyone smiling. • Hunter and Kevin, our hardworking dishwashers, whose behind-the-scenes efforts made everything run seamlessly. We can’t imagine having gotten married anywhere else. Wedgewood at The Willows exceeded every single expectation and gave us a wedding day we will cherish forever.

The Pines was absolutely the right move for us. The location was perfect. It was 10 degrees cooler than in Denver so was perfectly comfortable in the summer. The location was beautiful. The Evergreen terrace felt intimate but grand. The upper reception space was the same. The day of coordinators Morgan and Claire were PHENOMENAL. They worked with all of my DYI/creative touches with a "let's make it work attitude". They took everything so seriously and acted quickly when there was a concern. I did not worry about things happening correctly on my day... let that sink in. The plated meals were pretty darn good for wedding food. We received nothing but compliments. We brought in mostly our own vendors, which was the right choice for us. The only hiccup was with their affiliated DJ. From the DJ, we would've appreciated a bit better communication before, listening to our limitations and boundaries, and attention to details. The day was still magical overall. And the Pines made that ideal. At the end of the night and our scheduled uber was there we didn't want to leave. Claire handled it. Suddenly the uber was gone, another was coming in 30 minutes and we got those last 30 minutes with our guests. Overall, would highly recommend the Pines. They are dedicated to making your day special and they will work with you for that to happen.

Simms Steakhouse

4.0

Golden, CO
  • Starts at $1,500

Looking to host a business function, a private dinner, luncheon or shower? Located in the Denver area for over 40 years, Simms Steakhouse offers a unique alternative to banquet halls when seeking a superior food experience with personal attention and service. Our private rooms offer a memorable backdrop for your guests. Our firm commitment to excellence in food and service promises an experience where you are able to relax knowing your dining needs are being met.

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • No on-premises lodging options
Simms planning was super easy, they were so kind and willing to set up the tables and chairs exactly as I needed. Unfortunelty there was some miscommunication between the catering manager and the day of manager for the party. The day of manager did everything possible to make the things she wasn’t aware of happen still, like wine service at dinner. The dinner took a lot longer to come out than they wanted, and we felt a bit rushed to get out following desert, but they were kind in not charging for extra time due to it being their delay. You could tell some of their staff was a bit upset at the delay but it wasn’t directed at us. One of the meals we picked was super lack luster and I wish there was a free tasting. I probably could have paid to try the meals, if it’s an option I would recommend. It just didn’t taste like there was any sauce/seasoning (salmon w lump crab - would avoid). The other food was out of this world, especially the salads and desert, everyone loved this. We asked to have drinks capped at 15 and they said there would be drink menus printed with these options- even sent over an example of what it would look like. I made it clear that I printed the food menu but would still need drink menus. There was one full drink menu up on a cocktail table (not a sign, but a folded one like they hand out at a dinner table) So no one knew what to order when they asked. When we got the bill the drinks varied from 18 and below. People didn’t know what they could order, the staff probably assumed it was close enough, but it cost us extra and it was bit disappointing. The planning made it seem like large parties would go off without a hitch, but I think they would be able to better handle up to 30 people. I would absolutely come back with a smaller group.

We got married here on 4/20/24 and it was a delight. So convenient to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and dance party all at the same venue! Choosing the month of coordination package was definitely a lifesaver for us. Erin did a phenomenal job with pre-planning mettings, setting up the decor and running the day smoothly! She pivoted easily when it snowed all day and our cocktail hour had to move indoors. The whole team were incredible professionals. One main reason we picked SKYLIGHT was for the 24 hour rental option beacuse our friends like to dance late into the night. Clay not only did a fantastic job with the alcohol ordering and bartending, he stayed up all night as the after hours venue contact in case we needed anything. The blank slate of the venue really gave us power to create decorations that represented ourselves. We are so grateful to the entire SKYLIGHT team for making our wedding dreams come true!

Hands down the best wedding venue, hosts and staff we could ever ask for! When we toured Mountain Crust a year ago, we fell in love with the down-to-earth, backyard style wedding that we had always dreamed of. From day one, the Mountain Crust team went out of their way to ensure we had the most amazing day ever. Leading up to the event, the team was constantly in contact with us to ensure we had every detail planned and prepared. As with any event, last minute changes are inevitable but the Mountain Crust team was always there to help us with the planning and execution. Fast forward to the day of, and I wish I could say how many times I thought "this is the most perfect day ever." The Love Shack getting ready suite was a perfect place for the Bride to get dressed, and be removed from the stress of the day. When I say stress, I should emphasize that the Mountain Crust team removed every bit of concern or stress we had - and it was just the stress of standing up infant of a bunch of friends and family and having the most epic party. After our ceremony on the lawn, the Mountain Crust team went to work - pouring hundreds of drinks, serving hundreds of pizzas and ensuring our guests were always taken care of to the highest standard. The Mountain Crust team truly made the difference between a "good" night or a "good" venue and one that us, nor or guests, will ever forget for the rest of our lives. If you are considering a backyard wedding, a reception - or even just a fun event, we cannot recommend the Mountain Crust team higher. Mountain Crust has several options of budgets, food and drinks to fit your needs and they are more than willing to work with you guests that may have dietary restrictions. With that said, we are totally partial that their pizza is the best in Denver, and your guests will absolutely love it!
