While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. “If we could give The Hook Club more stars, we would! Let me get my one gripe out of the way at the top here: I’m pretty sure the only reason my now husband agreed to a wedding celebration was to hire The Hook Club after seeing them at a friend’s wedding before we met. It was the only part of the wedding planning process he felt truly passionate about from the jump – we knew we wanted them before we even had a venue or date and went so far as to clear our potential dates with them before booking anything else. Fast forward, and Dan made the band planning process so supported and seamless that my husband’s one job went off without a hitch. The problem? Despite me planning every other single little detail of our three-day wedding weekend, the first thing that every single guest complimented (and still raves above, 1 month later) was THE BAND! But in truth, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We are absolutely ecstatic with our choice of hiring The Hook Club for our wedding. We did acoustic guitars for the ceremony, sax and tracks for cocktail and band and DJ for reception. THC was outstanding to work with from the jump. Dan is a wealth of knowledge and organization, and brings a calm, cool, collected vibe through every step of the planning process. Not to mention, he’s a great musician who can come discuss timeline with you while also playing the base day of :D. The process THC uses to help plan is smooth and clear. The communication was great throughout – we knew what to expect from the first planning call all the way up to some adhoc timeline changes day of. The band has an extensive repertoire and was able to take in our song, vibe, and timeline requests while also using their extensive experience to guide us along the way. The music carried the vibe throughout the day – from guitars at the ceremony to sax and tracks leading through cocktail hour and a mix of dance sets, slow dances, and expert MC’ing on the dance floor, we couldn’t get enough. So much so, that we extended the end time of the event just to have more fun on the dance floor with THC! Everyone was so nice, supportive, energetic and just brought their outstandingly talented A game and the absolute best vibe. The band got out on the dance floor with us, led us in call and response and a little choreographed proud Mary moment. Our first dance song is not a very common song, not only did THC learn it for us, but they provided us a track of their composition beforehand so we could practice the dance. You’ll see in the pictures my face when I first heard them play it – completely awestruck! That was pretty much my inner face the entire rest of the night in their presence. I have so many fond memories of engaging with THC throughout our wedding. If I could do it again, I’d hire THC without a second thought.”

“Grooveline was honestly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They flew to Taiwan on extremely short notice and still handled everything with total class and professionalism. In terms of value for money, their initial proposal was outside our budget, but they were very willing to work with us and adjust. At the same time, we were blessed that a friend stepped in to cover a large portion of the cost - the timing of everything truly felt like God put it together. Without Grooveline’s flexibility and our friend’s support, this wouldn’t have been possible. We brought 9 people total (7 musicians, a manager, and a sound engineer), and let's just say - they made the night truly unforgettable for all who attended. Traditional weddings in Taiwan are usually quiet and pretty passive, but once Grooveline started playing, guests of all ages rushed to the dance floor. Many said it was the most fun wedding they had ever attended. Even with an open bar, alcohol consumption was low — to us - this just means people were really having the good time sober and really enjoying the high energy and joy the band brought :) We truly feel blessed and gratetul to have the chance to work with them and yes - would absolutely recommend them!”
